"Why did you lie?" Ryker asked me, and I couldn't answer him. "If you were that hungry, we should stop by and feed. Please, do not neglect your body, Ave. You scared the wolves when you lashed out at them," he added.
All I could do was heave a sigh and note that I must not starve myself again. My body acted on itself. And I understand that. I neglected it by trying to help those who needed it.
"I'm sorry," I told him before resting my head on my knees and looking at the floor like it was the most interesting view.
Ryker sighed before sitting on the bed in front of me.
