Chapter 12 - Food Fight?

Since the year had officially started, Rainer changed into his school uniform. The boys wore a black suit jacket with a white button-down shirt, a tie to match their dorm, crimson for phoenix, black suit pants, and matte black dress shoes. Ranier left his dorm for the mess hall. It was on the main campus, so it was a short walk.

'Damn being five-year-old sucks. Although elves' body grows pretty fast, all the girls still look like children. I am not a lolicon, damn it.'

After passing by a few groupings of people, Rainer made it to the mess hall. When he walked in, he was stunned.

'This is nothing like a cafeteria. It might as well be a five-star restaurant.'

The mess hall used magic to adjust the size needed to fit the number of students in it at any given time. It had massive crystal chandeliers made of gold and platinum. The tables were all carved with elder trees, one of the hardest woods in the entire Eldora. They were serving seafood, steak, and all sorts of sides. There was even a fountain with pure spring water, which helps clear one's mind aiding in sensing mana. Rainer grabbed a plate and started loading up.

'I'll take some of this and that, oh and some of that.'

When Rainer finished filling his plate, it was a small mountain. People were looking at him weirdly, but he didn't care. Sitting down at the table in the corner of the room near a window. Marcus came a bit later and joined Rainer.

"Hey Marcus, how is dragon dorm?"

"It isn't bad. Unfortunately, the future Duke is also in dragon, but luckily his lackeys seemed to have been put in griffon and leviathan."

"That sounds like a pain in the ass. If you need help, reach out, and we will figure it out. Speak of the devil."

The future Duke and his gang were striding straight for the two boys.

'Look at this commoner trash it looks like he has never eaten a meal in his life. I have never seen someone grab so much food.'

Rainer's appetite was bottomless. But, of course, since he had already sensed mana as a baby and was practicing with it since his mana-circulatory system was very developed and needed massive amounts of energy to sustain, it may have been weird here. Still, it was a typical sight back at the castle.

"Well, well, well, look who we have here. It's the clutz and the rule book. You're lucky that the uniforms are self-cleaning if I had to show up to orientation covered in dirt. Well, let's be glad that didn't happen."

Rainer ignored the pompous hot air bag and continued eating, but the future Duke didn't even notice.

"I am Cyran Von Barrelston, future Duke of Ostelwen. I can overlook the earlier blunder if you're willing to serve me."

Marcus looked nervous, but Rainer let it go in one ear and out the other. Cyran noticed and turned red; he had never been ignored before. His servants at home lived for his every word. He reached for Rainer's collar.

"You miscreant, don't ignore..."

Rainer saw the hand coming for his collar and moved just enough out of the way. Failing to grab Rainer's shirt, Cyran stumbled forward right into Marucus' meal. Face covered in what looked like mashed potatoes, Cyran threw a fist at Rainer. Evading the strike again, Rainer lifted his plate and held it right in Cyran's path. Cyran collided with the dish, dumping the contents all down his uniform. Rainer spoke plainly.

"Cyran using your title to threaten or harrases students is against rule 12 appendix b of the code of conduct. However, I will report you should you continue to bother my friend here and me."

An Instructor came over and saw Cyran covered in food. As Cyran was very vocal about his position as a future duke seeing him covered in food was a bit perplexing, commoners would never tussle with nobility if they could help it.

"What's going on here? Fighting is strictly prohibited."

Marcus was about to speak up when Rainer grabbed his shoulder.

"The young lord Cyran merely stumbled into my food. It was an honest mistake. No one was fighting."

Cyran, in a rage, refuted Rainer's words; unfortunately, he forgot to lie.

"That's not what happened at all. Instead, you dodged my punch and deliberately put your food in the way so it would spill all over me."

The teacher looked at Cyran like he was an idiot. Here the victim was actively covering up the incident, and the attacker was actively confessing to being the instigator just because the guy lied. The instructor pointed at Cyran.

"So you're telling me you attacked him, and he defeated you with his food. Do I have that right? Did he throw a punch? Outside of being a walking dinner, did he hurt you in any way?"

Cyran realized his blunder. He attempted to harm another student instead of fighting back, which would have gotten them in trouble. Instead, Rainer caused him to fight his food.

"No, sir."

Cyran knew he couldn't lie. There were too many witnesses. He couldn't be sure they would cover for him on the spot. The professor took Cyran to the head office while Rainer and Marcus returned to their rooms.
