Kalista tries to sit up, but she screams because of the sharp pain that she has just felt in her abdomen. What the hell is that? She closes her eyes and tries to lift herself up to a sitting position, ignoring the pain. She is a warrior, and enduring pain is something she has learnt all her life.
She is still trying to figure out where she is when she hears a sound far ahead of her. Her defenses wake up immediately, and she prepares to find whoever it is. She stays quite in the dark, and her excellent vision shows her who has just come into the room.
