The words keep ringing in my head, and for a few seconds, I am totally destabilized and caught off-guard.
What the hell is this?
"How? How did it happen?" I ask Kiara in hushed tones.
"Bryan said that it was during roll-call this morning that he realized that the soldier was missing. I am not even going to think of the consequences of this, Kalista. This can be very disastrous." Kiara points out.
"I am aware of the consequences, and this is why we have to swing into action right now." I tell her.
"So, what are you suggesting?" Kiara asks me.
I am quiet for a few seconds before I speak. "Round off the training with the soldiers, and ask them to rest for the rest of the day. As soon as you are done addressing them, meet me at the stables." I instruct her.
