John Smith was a normal man, living from pay check to pay check. One day he saw an ad for a new game on the other side of the street. As he was crossing it, an out of control truck hit him. He died on his way to the hospital.
"What is happening? Why can I not see anything?"
"Open your eyes, oh great hero of the legends! You have been summoned to this world to defeat the great evil."
John, without even needing an explanation, quickly understood that he died and was reincarnated to a new world. A world of fantasy, full of magic and adventure.
With an annoying voice as if he is talking with a stuffed nose, he started speaking. The natives did not understand what he was talking about, but they knew he understood the severity. Or, at least, they hoped he did.
"Oh boy, it appears I am the protagonist, like in those isekai mangas and anime. STATUS! Show me STATUS! Where is my status? How can I know what my super overpowered ability is if I can't open my STATUS window!?"
It took a while for the new protagonist to understand that there is no status or a system he can rely on. However, like all the heroes before him, with a bit of concentration, figured out how to feel what powers he had.
"So I am a sword master. Very well. Bring me a katana and show me other adventurers, so I can make a party and start my harem adventure!"
It took two days for the sages and other knights to gather the best artisans, armourers and smiths to forge a custom armour and a sword called katana.
After selecting his party members, John did not waste any time and left the city for an adventure to get used to his abilities and gain so much power, that one slash of his sword could topple a mountain.
Against the advice of his party members or the pleas of the sages and royalty, the hero and his party set off to find and slay monsters.
It has been three days since the party left, but no monster has shown itself yet. Getting annoyed at this outcome and frustrated about his groups' complaints to turn back and train before real combat, John spoke.
"I am the HERO! You must fallow my commands. Tell me where can I find orcs or like goblins or something?"
"I do not know what power you had before coming here, but even goblins pose a big threat if you are unprepared." Vari tried to reason, but it was like a drop of water in a bottomless hole, not even an echo.
On the fourth day of travelling aimlessly, the party caved and told the hero where he can find a goblin tribe.
With excitement, John marched to the location, fallowed by uneasy group members. Arriving in a deep and dark forest, the group started to see signs of goblins. Old snares, broken animal bones and dried blood.
"Just support me like the NPCs you are and let me handle this!"
