The board meeting.
'9 am. Sharp. The executive heads of Brown's cooperation will come to our office.'
The jumbling of his phone pulled him irregularly out of his slumber. He had hardly slept properly since last night and now a reminder text from his secretary had disturbed his sleep. Enrique's sneer resonated in the room like a wild bear in the woods. He turned on his back and read the text.
The meeting had been planned various times and for some reason kept on being postponed. Despite the fact, that he didn't want to leave the bed right now, he could not afford to stay in there knowing how crucial this meeting was for him.
Frustratedly, he tossed the phone on the bed which broke the sleep of the beauty lying next to him in the bed.
Likewise, Danielle also could not sleep. Not merely because the place was new for her and she was missing her cozy bed and peacefulness and comfort of her own room. But, because of the bitter realization of his presence next to her. The fact that she was sharing the bed with a stranger for the very first time in her life. The unusualness of this event made her twist and tossed in the bed the whole night.
She sensed a bizarre vibe weighing on her laid body, as Enrique carefully leaned forward to see whether she was up or not.
He got a side glimpse of her face, a duvet of calmness was surrounding it, her lips were dried and pursed, yet a tinkling urge to wet them rushed over him. However, something pulled him back and he quickly get out of the bed.
Danielle pulled her head up and looked at the sheets next to her crumpled and creases like the ones he always had formed on his forehead. Taking a relieved deep sigh, she threw herself back and stared at the ceiling.
"Thank God. He woke up and went away." She mumbled in her mouth.
If there's anything she just couldn't explain how disgustingly she was abhorring this man right now.
"I have to run out of here as soon as possible!" Danielle reminded herself, as her eyes were dragging shut because of the sleeplessness from last night. But how could she sleep here?
The clicking sound of the washroom's door opening echoed as she quickly squeezed her eyes shut and Enrique walked back into the room.
Albeit, she could not hide her chest heaving heavily, which Enrique's orbs could not neglect the moment he walked out. He sensed right away that she was not sleeping but awake.
He smiled drolly and turned towards the closet to pick out the best fit for himself considering the meeting was pertinent for him. He was going to crack a million dollars deal which will be a milestone for him. However, he had little idea of how she was going the turn his mood and day off.
Enrique looked at her reflection in the mirror, smilingly, he heavily sprayed his favorite fragrance and dashed out of the room.
'Tonight, you'll be getting a special treat!' he smirked inwardly upon the thought of coming home in the evening to her after successfully signing the contract accompanied him on his way out.
Danielle's eyes shot open with the thudding voice of the shutting door and shifted onto her ass.
"Be quick!" She hurried out of the bed saying this and began to roam around the room restlessly. She had to look for a way out of there immediately, also she didn't have any idea how much time she got as Enrique was away.
She tucked her lower lip in between her teeth in contemplation as her feet quickly paced around the room. Warm sun rays of early morning peered in through the huge glass window covered with thin white curtains who could hardly prevent the harsh rays of sun to get in.
Obviously, she couldn't walk straight out of here considering the strict security around the house and from yesterday's incident, her failed attempt to mingle with the maids to know about the secret ways that could help her escape out of this cage, one thing was clear to her that she could trust no one here.
"Shall I go down?" She stopped in front of the mirror and voiced out her thoughts while looking in the mirror.
"Ummm.... No!" She could not make them suspicious of her. The helpers might get the idea that she was up to something. And what if Enrique was down there. No way! She could not afford to bear his aggression again.
Despite she was afraid of him, had the fair idea about how's he going to make her pay for her wrong move, she found herself secretly wishing for it. A flashback glimmered in front of her eyes from yesterday. Her naked figure shivered in the coldness ruling around the hall and the eyes around secretly espied on her.
"Ahh... No. No. No. Danielle. Think of something!"
She turned, and looked around, her orbs scrolled up the wall to the ceiling as she resumed her pacing around the room.
"There should have to be another way. A better way!"
She desperately whispered. The tension was visible in her expressions, Enrique could walk in any moment and do whatever he wished to.
She could not let this man to lay his dirty hands on her ever again.
Suddenly, a happiness sprout on her face and relief dawned on her when her eyes trailed around to the way of the huge glass window through which sun rays was streaming in all the way to her feet. Immediately, she walked towards it and slid the curtain aside to look outside.
Though, the room was on second floor, albeit there was a terrace adjoining the room which further had a way leading to the pool which was on the ground floor.
"Perfect!" A huge smiled played across her lips. She could not remember smiling that heartedly since the last two days.
She quickly rushed towards his closet, picked out random shirt and trousers and his trainers, which was bigger than her size, but it seemed a better option to sneak away with a pair of trainers on than bare footed.
Then, she tried to slide the window open, which acquired more of her strengths than she had expected.
After shedding a few sweaty tears, she succeeded in opening it.
"You can't afford to lose this chance!" Danielle determinedly whispered to herself as she tilted her figure slightly forward to check if anybody was seeing her or could when she stepped out of here.
"Good! The path is clear!"
She gulped down the fears for once and forced a tiresome smile on her lips.
She was dizzy, tired, yet enthusiastic to sneak away at all costs.
