There was clearly no one here, and there was no foot prints in the snow. He was going to think that I was hallucinating.
There was no way anyone could go through the borders unseen, but I know what I saw.
"I saw you come in here, and I followed you. Deities, I missed you." He breathed, and pushed me flush against his chest for a hug. I relaxed immediately, but then remembered that he had lied to me, so I pushed away from him with my free hand, and he stared down at me with a questioning look.
"You lied to me. You said that you were going to be back in a few days, but it's been over a month now. What do you have to say to that?"
"Oh. That?" He brushed a thumb over the tip of his nose, and averted his gaze from mine to look around.
"Yes that."
"Come. We can't talk here." He stretched his right hand to me, waiting for me to take it, but I didn't. I walked past him, heading for the castle.
