Chereads / Sphinx / Chapter 61 - EPILOGUE

Chapter 61 - EPILOGUE

It has been two weeks since Gabriel last saw his brother.

He never understood what made Samuel to leave after Rachael's resurrection.

For a long time now, his brother had been the cool headed one.

Something must have made him lose his edge.

"You look great," Rachael compliments Gabriel's suit.

It has been a while since Rachael went out and since the incident at the club things have been quiet.

The cops are on them, investigating the deaths of the innocent victims of that night.

But tonight isn't a night to reminisce on the things that have already happened.

It's a new beginning.

Like everyday.

"You look amazing," Gabriel compliments her.

She looks like a queen in her matte gold gown.

A back less design exposes her smooth skin.

It's long sleeves look like a set up for the beautiful Carlidana bracelet on her wrists.

The gown adds finesse to her shape.

Her hair falls to her neck and its black color shines against the chandelier's light.

Rachael smiles at Gabriel as he makes flirty remarks about her dress.

Gabriel whistles as he admires her body.

"Are you sure we should be going to see this old classmates of yours?

I mean, with a dress like that there other things I've got in mind," he says with a crooked smile.

Rachael rolls her eyes and smiles at Gabriel.

"I see what you are doing.

"Let's get going before we miss my reunion," Rachael says.

Gabriel chuckles as he puts his elbow out for her to hold.

They walk out of the hotel and a valet brings the car around and hands over the keys to Gabriel.

He opens the door of his Ferrari LaFerrari and Rachael thanks him with a smile as she enters.

The sphinx smiles as the thought of where he is now amazes him.

Will he and Rachael be okay now that he is human?

Meanwhile, in the darkness of the beautiful night under the glimmers of the shining moon.

Christine has never been happier in her life.

Work became better, her attitude changed and her spirits have been high since a week ago when she met him.

She drowns in his blue eyes as their beauty calls to her.

She wants to be anything for him.

She doesn't know why but all she can think about is him.

They lay on the mat at the bank of a lake as they watch the full moon come into view.

He pops the cork of the champagne bottle and turns a glass for Christine.

They drink and laugh until she can't hold her yearn anymore.

She sits on his lap and kisses him passionately.

He returns her kiss and toggles with her shirt.

She takes of her shirt and her perky breast jiggle inside her bra.

He presses her against the ground and he licks the side of her neck.

He smiles and sinks his fangs into the young woman.

She groans softly and wraps her hands around his head.

Her groans grow as he gets rough.

"Stop," she struggles but he presses her hand against the floor.

She screams as he lifts his head to reveal his blood soaked mouth.

He wraps a hand around her neck, "Thank you for the meal, madame" his French accent strains on his speech.

"Is that how you always end it?" a familiar and yet terrifying voice says.

Marcel quickly stands up from the girl as Samuel steps out of the shadows.

His eyes glowing blue and his smile threatens to turn into laughter.

The girl screams and runs away with blood dripping down her neck.

Marcel eyes the sphinx and searches for a way to escape.

"Don't do that. Don't try to run," Samuel says.

"Please, I did it for my family" Marcel pleads.

"I did not come here to listen to your plea," Samuel says.

Marcel's eyes widen as he sees the glow in the sphinx eyes die and turn black.

The same look Dracula had in his eyes.

"I think we both know what happens next, Smeagle".

In the halls of secrecy and power-lust. An organization built on secrets known only to certain elites.

An organization that watches the supernatural like a god with no worshippers.

It stalks them like a predator and devours those who go against them.

Alex reports the details of her service to a man on a throne.

Alex wonders what it is about her masters and thrones.

Like they couldn't be kings in their earlier centuries and decided to be kings now.

The room is spacious and yet compact.

A skylight allows sunlight to shares it's glow at the center of the room.

The pillars have a dragon design on them and a lantern on the floor.

There is a throne seated at the end of the room.

Sunlight from the windows illuminate the room.

A different taste compared to her former master.

Her new boss stops her from talking as a blond man enters the room.

He stands at 6'3ft tall and has long blond hair that glitters under the sun's light.

He is fair in complexion and his green eyes observe the redhead as she answers to the immortal on the throne.

He dresses like an old fashioned warrior and a sword is sheathed at his waist.

"Leave," Azazel orders and Alex leaves with a light bow.

"How was your trip to the Amazon forest?" Azazel asks and the blond man paces around.

"I successfully subdued the threat," he says dryly.

Azazel scoffs as he looks down from his throne, "So, will you go after them?" Azazel asks.

"Of course, time has come for us to cross paths," the blond man says.

"They killed Vlad, you know" Azazel toys with his hair.

"I simply came to report the completion of my mission.

And to inform you that I won't be available.

As you know, I have matters to attend to," he says in a cold stare.

He turns his back to leave the room.

Azazel smiles as he reads the man's intentions in his speech like a book.

"You are only a recent orphan, take your time.

Take all the time you need, Alucard.

The Lantern will be watching,".
