Gabriel and Rachael train for two hours and decide to take a break.
Gabriel picks up a telephone and calls reception.
He orders for water and juice.
"You have more stamina than I expected," Gabriel commends Rachael who is soaked in sweat.
"Stamina? I feel like I took a long jog," Rachael pants.
"Your form isn't bad either. You trained before?", Gabriel asks.
"Years ago. My mom used to show me some moves," she says.
She leans against the wall and takes in a deep breath.
He stands in front of her, a few feet away.
Her presence makes his heart warm with joy.
Her eyes pull him in like a whirlwind.
Rachael notices him staring and she remembers her dream.
His intense gaze and herself in his arms.
"What?" she asks.
"Nothing," he says but his smile betrays him.
"You smile more nowadays," Rachael says.
"Is it a good thing?" he takes a step toward Rachael.
"Compared to when we first met, yes it is" she says with a smile.
"I used to think you were full of yourself," she says.
"And now?" "Now, I think…" he takes a step closer.
"I think you have a hard wall but beneath all that, you are sweet.
Not too sweet," she says.
"What makes you say that when you haven't tasted me?".
She raises a brow and tries to hide her blush.
"Are you flirting with me? A boss and an employee aren't supposed to," Rachael says.
He is two feet away from her.
"Why is that, Rachael?" he rests a hand against the wall as he comes closer.
"Business and…pleasure don't mix. It's bad…work ethics," she starts as she feels his breath against her skin.
"Well as the boss I say fuck work ethics.
I want you, Rachael,".
Her heart begins to beat fast; what is Gabriel saying?
He wants me?
Samuel coughs as he appears with a tray.
Gabriel puts some space between himself and Rachael.
He glares at his brother.
"Why are you here, man?" Gabriel asks with an imposing figure.
"I came to see our new student.
I did you the liberty of bringing your orders for you.
Water and juice, from yours truly" Samuel says with a charming smile.
"Wait, our student?" "Yes, of course".
"There is no need for that. Gabriel can train me," Rachael says.
"Of course, there is.
Aside from the fact that Gabriel is a terrible teacher, what is he going to teach you?", Samuel says.
"What? So, you are the jealous type now, Sammy?" Gabriel confronts him.
"Macho-man, it's not about besting you.
It's about what is best for her, " Samuel says.
"And you know what's best for me?" Rachael says.
Samuel hands her a bottle of juice.
"Rachael, don't be fooled by his skills. He is an immortal,".
Gabriel walks to his brother and carries a bottle of water.
"Thanks for bringing our order but your help isn't needed," Gabriel says.
"So, fuck off" he whispers into his twin's ear.
Samuel giggles and turns to leave.
The sphinx is angry and hurt as he frowns in the elevator.
He enters the club with his eyes set on the bar as he walks.
"Two shots of tequila and bring me bourbon," he orders and Bryan goes to fix his order.
"Do immortals get drunk?" Elena asks as she takes a seat beside him.
This bloody hunter.
"What do you want?" he says with a grumpy voice.
"Nothing, I just want to talk" she says.
Bryan drops the shots of tequila.
Samuel gulps a glass but doesn't see the second glass.
Elena drops an empty shot glass on the counter and exclaims.
Bryan's eyes move from his boss to the hunter.
"Killing you with this cup feels like a good idea right now," Samuel says.
"You don't scare me. I kill vampires, remember?" she says.
Of course.
Her words spark an idea in his mind.
"I need a favor from you, Elena" he pours himself a glass of bourbon.
She raises a brow, what could he want from her?
Assisting him will put her in his good graces and he will owe her.
"I'm not doing you any favors for free," she says.
"Sure," he says nonchalantly.
"I need you to train Rachael," Samuel says and Elena frowns.
"You are joking.
She asked you, why are you asking me to help her?"
"Well, my brother took my spot and I think it has something to do with the shit you pulled off this morning," he says.
"She wants to be strong enough for what is coming.
My brother and I aren't a good fit to teach her.
We are immortals, we don't move as you do.
But, you are a hunter with some experience in killing immortals," Samuel explains.
"I understand but there isn't enough time," Elena says as she pours herself a glass of bourbon.
"I know but she wants to be prepared,".
"I still can't wrap my head around the fact that the devil's grandsons are in love with my cousin," she says and sips her drink.
Bryan's eyes widen as he hears her statement.
Samuel glance at Elena as she licks the liquor off her lips.
"I don't need any reminder about my lineage.
Just do what I ask,".
"Of course, but you owe me one" she says and gulps down her drink.
"You love her, don't you?" Elena asks.
Samuel pauses before he answers, "Maybe I do,".
"You will die for her?".
Bryan chuckles and Samuel growls, shutting the vampire.
Bryan excuses himself.
"Seeing his reaction, I take it that is a no," Elena says.
"The truth is, every immortal is scared of death.
We never see it coming because of our immortality.
So, your question is something I can't answer" he says.
Warren Peace walks into the club with searching eyes.
His eye catches one of the brothers at the bar and he goes to join the immortal.
He rubs his wavy brown hair as he reaches the bar.
He stands behind the immortal.
"If it isn't Detective Peace.
I see you still apply that shitty cologne of yours," Samuel says.
"Samuel, I presume" Warren says, "And what gives me away?" Samuel asks.
"Your dressing.
You dress like you work in a law firm but your brother dresses like a wannabe biker," the detective says.
Samuel laughs hard as he turns to face Warren.
"I guess this is my cue," Elena says before she leaves.
"You've got jokes. What do you want?" Samuel ask.
"I want to know the plan,".
"What plan?"
"What do you mean? Dracula is making his move next week.
He is going to get what he needs.
We need a plan, man" Warren says.
"We need a plan? You are overstepping, human" Samuel's tone changes.
He stands up and looks the detective in the eyes.
"I don't trust you, detective"
"I have nothing to hide. You can hypnotize me," Warren tries to convince the immortal.
His words mean nothing to the sphinx.
"There is no need detective. I will believe you, for now".
"Now get the fuck out of my club," Samuel says, his voice is harsh and threatening.
He watches the detective leave.
He doesn't trust one word from his mouth.
And with every move he makes, he feels suspicious.
Why does he want to know if they have a plan?
Be careful, Detective Peace.
