Chapter 2 - Chapter-2

The girl, Dilara Vespine, had a passion for writing and started writing in her college years and right after graduating from her college she created her own blog and started publishing her works which luckily got attention from famous authors and critics naturally allowing her to gain more popularity. Later on readers started knowing her and acknowledged her works and eventually over time she became a famous writer.

Because she hated crowds and attention from society she never appeared or introduced herself to the public and her readers and fans only know her as ' Vesp ', she chose to make it her pen name during her earlier writing days and even after becoming famous she had no desire to change it nor show herself as the writer of those famous books. She was simply content knowing that she had many readers and they loved her works.

Of course she had a publisher whom she had been working with for five years now, but even with him she didn't have that much of a close relationship with where they consider themselves as friends and simply kept their own status as work partners. That doesn't mean that they had nothing to do with each other at all as her publisher will try to talk her into things which she could benifit from time to time.

However even the publisher she had worked with for nearly more than five years address her with some respect. But standing in front of her right at that moment was the man she had no knowledge of looking at her with critical eyes and calling her name judgementally.

As she had already read the mail from her friend right before he arrived in front of her doorstep so the moment she remembered that she had pretty much a good idea about who the man was.

The moment he asked her if she was Dilara Vespine she answered with a sharp tone, not wanting to be polite to someone who didn't intend to show any of it himself.

Dilara: " Yes, and Iam guessing you're the guy that was sent over by Lea, Leal I mean. "

The man looked at her with a neutral expression and said,

" Yes, the name's Mirk Arcane, a psychiatrist from City heart hospital. And if you're asking about who asked me to be here, it was not really Miss Leal herself but her partner. " He didn't like the way she phrased the words as he doesn't want to appear like he was the other man's lackey so he corrected her words from being ' sent over ' to ' asked to be here' adding stress to that certain word.

But Dilara didn't had the least interest in what he was intending to say because the schocked from the words that came after that, left her with a gaping mouth and raiser brows. She muttered almost to herself.

Dilara: " Lea have a partner? As in lover? Wha... " She took a deep breath, " Well, never mind that, please come in Mr. Arcane, let's have the remaining conversation inside."

She calmed herself down for a moment thinking, 'I'll settle this and all the other things with Lea once I take care of this one ' and trying to keep her cool she decided to invite him in thinking that even if she doesn't really want him there she should at least invite him in first and settle things clearly, him introducing himself as a psychiatrist had proved her earlier guess to be true and she also thought in her head, 'this must be why my eyes were twitching so much earlier the moment I saw him, I knew nothing good would happen'.

Mirk was a bit shocked himself to see her suddenly changing her expression, she had showed him almost four expression in just a minute of their meeting; a cold face, shocked, stressed than a more relaxed one probably her normal expression.

Brushing it off he followed her in quietly, he took off his shoes at the entrance and looking at how she simply strode in front of him without turning back it was pretty clear that she had no thought of offering him any slippers, probably telling him indirectly that he was an unwanted guest that she intended to send off soon, the possibility of not having any was almost none as the size of the shoe rack wasn't a small one and the owner herself was wearing a comfortable one.

He was no such person to mind such behavior as he really didn't like to be bothered by anything. He looked around the room that was almost empty and then took a glimpse of the kitchen that had not any extra decorations or design for itself other than a flower vase in the middle of the table with no flowers.

From the look of the arrangements inside the house and the person herself she didn't appear to have that much of a bright personality. She seemed the type of person that keeps mostly to herself and is satisfied with things as it was and almost everything was arranged in such a way that she can live comfortably with no extra things to take care of that most women love to busy themselves with.

During that time he had not been the only one working their head, Dilara was also working her brains pretty deep, Mirk was a guy of about 6.2 feet tall with a well build features. He had almost no flaw in his appearance with his black hair, coral grey eyes and a perfect jawline.

She also noticed that he had a glove on this whole time even though it was not winter and the day itself was a humid one. She purposely didn't give him any indoor slippers despite having spare ones inside the closed shoe rack to let him know that she doesn't intend for him to stay long and when he showed no reaction or discontent to it she made it out that he was someone who wasn't bothered with little details.

Each was trying to guess the other's character and intent, one by profession and the other by habit. Neither of them spoke a word until they reached the sitting room and Dilara broke the silence by asking him to take a seat.

Taking a seat for herself at one side of the couch she gestured her hand forward and asked Mirk to sit at the other side with a short table in between. She watched his movements with a stare as if to look inside the others' head.

Dilara: " Please have a seat Mr. Arcane" She moved away her gaze not wanting him to notice.

However he felt it and he too realised that she was trying to guess his movements. As soon as he took the seat she started,

Dilara: " Thank you for coming all the way here Mr. Arcane, I know that you just came to look after a possible patient but I am perfectly fine and I don't require nor do i want any assistance as of the moment and i have no plan of doing so in the near future as well. I just wanted to make that clear to you and I apologize for having to turn you away after making some time out of your busy schedule for me. "

Mirk was still observing the surrounding and finally stopped his gaze right at hers.

Mirk: " Miss Vespine, you don't need to blame yourself, I am the one who's sorry for suddenly intruding without prior notice, however I was informed before I arrived here that you would say those words and reject me. And by the looks of things I think you really need some guidance. "

Dilara looked at him with a conflicted face and spoke up slightly annoyed by his words.

Dilara: " Mr. Arcane, I understand that you see me as a potential client and I won't argue with such a famous psychiatrist like yourself about what's right or wrong but when it come to me I know how I am and what I need best. I know that from your point of view I probably am not the most normal apple in the tree but I have no intention of changing the way things are. "

Mirk look at her slightly amused but keeping his straight face he doesn't let his emotions show, that's how he always managed himself. He put his hands together intertwining them gently, unfolding his long legs.

Mirk: " I really can't force you to let me help you with the conditions you may or may not have, however I have my own reasons to be here and under no circumstances can I go back without a solid reason. "

Unlike him who was well trained in composition his facial expressions Dilara was one who showed them quite openly in her face, and not only that she was one who changed them quickly. She looked and answered irritably.

Dilara: " Well isn't me not needing you and refusing your treatment reason enough? " She squinted her brows.

Mirk: " How about this? We just go along with things for now and try to get along. I'll try not to get in your way but you'll have to help me give them a satisfiable answer. "

Dilara: " And why should I bother myself with that? As far as I know I have nothing to gain from it and even if you leave I have nothing to lose. "

Mirk showed a slight smirk making him look like an arrogant businessman instead of a well known psychiatrist.

Mirk: " From the looks of things your friend seems to be very worried about your current state of condition Miss Dilara and if you comply to my request I can put her mind at ease or if you refuse me now you can let yourself be troubled by their constant worrying. And pardon me but judging by your behavior I believe you aren't someone that likes someone to be troubled by others constant worries. "

Dilara looked away irritably unable to refute him and tried to make a comeback at him.

Dilara: " Can I ask why you are troubling yourself with this? From the looks of it you don't appear like someone who couldn't just refuse a request or an order. "

Mirk: " Well you are right, I am not such person who like people to push me around but this time there's something in it for me, something I have to get not matter what. "

Dilara looked at him doubtfully and sighed giving in, it was the truth that Leal had been constantly worried about her and her family from back home was also worried about her constantly.

Dilara: " Fine, it doesn't seem like you'll tell me even if I asked what it is that you're trying so hard to get. However I agree to go along with you for a while but you have to promise me to give in some good words about me to them, that's my condition. "

Mirk with a small smile: " Wonderful, you can count on me to put their minds at ease. Is it because you're a writer that you seem to understand a lot of things more than the people I usually met? Oh and regarding you being a writer I was informed of it by your friend, she gave me some info. "

Dilara, still doubtful about things said: " I am sure she did. Altogether, what is it that you want me to do? "

Mirk with his professional tone and manner asked right away.

" First of all, shall we start by you telling me about your condition as much as you're comfortable with it? "

It was in Dilara's nature to calculate a person's behavior, appearance and nature the moment they came into contact with her. And looking at the man in front of her she knew instinctively that nothing good would come out of trying to associate herself with him but she took the step forward and there was no going back.
