Chapter 14 - War

[Izuna main base, unknown, unknown]

"Humarise's forces have just landed, and they're mobilizing, no plan of attack has been implemented yet, what are the orders?" Asks one of my spies, via a small magical artifact I've created, a simple earring that allows you to speak by thought to other people with other enchanted earrings.

"For now, do nothing, continue to observe and wait for my signal."

"Roger that." He says before I cut the connection with my spy in Humarise and then connect to the one infiltrated in the Meta Liberation Army.

"Report." I say as the mind-altered spy tells me what I need to know for my plan. "The Meta Liberation Army forces are already preparing for the raid, they plan to create a diversion by orchestrating several simultaneous villain attacks to scatter the heroes, so they have a clear field, they plan to do a covert night operation in two days."

"Mmmm, I see, that's clever, but it doesn't suit me, I'll have to speed up the mass escape to force them to move."

Thinking quickly, I connect to all my spies at once to give them the directives. "Start the mass breakout to attract the heroes, then those infiltrated at Humarise and the Meta Liberation Army, make sure both factions "learn" that the opposing faction is going to use the mass breakout to attack the Shie Hassaikai base to force them to move."

Those infiltrated at the Heroes Commission, wait for my signal to launch the attack on the top brass, as those from U.A. also wait for my signal to secure the area."

""""""""Roger that."""""""

The connection goes dead as I stare at the magic circle in front of me, determination present in my eyes.

"This is it, the war's about to start, and I'm about to rise."

[Tartarus]

In the high-security prison, everything seems to be going well - as well as watching over the worst of humanity.

Unfortunately for the prison guards and staff who aren't Izuna's spies, the day is about to get more...hectic.

Just as it's getting quiet in the prison, all the prison's systems suddenly shut down - cameras, communications, prisoners' cells, everything.

As the guards quickly reach for their weapons, knowing that a riot is about to break out, several guards and staff are suddenly overcome by pain and dizziness, before transforming into monsters straight out of Lovecraft's universe.

What followed was a massacre, as the monsters killed the guards without even paying attention to the prisoners, who saw their chance to escape happen.

Izuna, being the paranoid maniac that he is, planned everything, sabotaging defense systems, electricity, and even communications.

It wasn't long before the Tartarus escapees were able to sunbathe and steal vehicles to take to the road towards the coast, with nothing to stop them, all staff and guards having died.

Unfortunately for them, one of the men who infiltrated the prison and helped the inmates leave is currently holding a communications device after the prison's systems "recovered".

Taking on a falsely panicked voice, the man begins to shout. "MASS PRISON BREAK, I REPEAT MASS PRISON BREAK, ALL PRISONERS CURRENTLY HEADING FOR THE COAST, SEND HEROES, QUICK SEND ARGGG..." He pretends to be wounded before cutting off the radio and then, the next second, his body begins to glow red before exploding, quickly followed by Izuna's other puppets.

-

Of course, immediately after receiving this message, the Hero Public Safety Commission was quickly convened, and many heroes rushed to arrest the escaped villains.

Unfortunately, by the time they arrived, the escapees had already reached the coast and clashed with the heroes who had been warned of their arrival in a town near the bridge linking the coast to Tartarus.

The heroes are few, so their role is mainly to buy time while waiting for reinforcements, a more than difficult task given that for over a hundred villains, the hero count is limited to around thirty, and even then, this number drops dangerously due to the numerical superiority of the villains.

Of course, some of the more intelligent villains know that the number of heroes will rapidly increase, so instead of killing and destroying as the vast majority of escapees do, some like Lady Nagant or Stain prefer to leave discreetly.

A wise decision, because just an hour later, just as hope seemed to be lost for the heroes, their reinforcements arrived and even though they were still outnumbered, many heroes were on their way, and it was only a matter of time before the heroes won.

What neither side knows is that the entire city that currently serves as the battlefield is enchanted by Izuna's magic. There are three enchantments, the first of which is a simple illusion enchantment of anger to increase the lethality of attacks, whether by villains or heroes, rapidly making the battle bloody and to the point where the heroes seem to have forgotten to look after the civilians.

The second is an enchantment that slowly drains the energy of the people on it to power the enormous enchantment, and when everyone is tired, a group of magical nomu will be ready to finish off the wounded.

And of course, the third enchantment collects the souls of dead people for Izuna's magic circles.

Let's move on to another battlefield just as enchanted as this one.

-

Indeed, being obliged to start his plan early, but being a paranoid man, Izuna had several contingency plans in case of various scenarios, the eventuality being the impatience of one of the two organizations.

Now that the heroes were busy with the Tartar escapees, Izuna began the second phase of his plan, to start a conflict between Humarise and the Meta Liberation Army, and for that, all it took was blowing up a building or two to force them to move. Add to this the effect of the enchantment of anger, and it didn't take long for the two armies to clash, quickly transforming the city into a battlefield filled with destruction and death, whether villains or civilians.

Kai Chisaki, who was quietly taking care of business, was soon caught in the crossfire, not even understanding what was going on.

But explanations soon hit him in the face when several groups broke into his base and killed each of his henchmen on sight.

But being quick-witted enough, Kai Chisaki quickly understands why these two groups are here, and without wasting any time, he gives these instructions to the yakuza as he heads towards the reason for all this mess.

And while everyone's busy, the man who's behind it all and making all these people move like pawns is standing in front of Japan's biggest school of heroism, a wicked grin on his face in anticipation of the blood he's about to spill.
