Chapter 44 - The princess with the unusual heartbeat

I'm so ashamed that my father will think it's not important to protect his own people. Lancelot upset. I will have to confront him about this when I get back to the castle. I've only been gone for a short while from the kingdom, only to return and find out our kingdom had been dominated by barbarians. Has our kingdom suddenly become a piece of joke?

We will find a way to help as many people as we can. Declared Lex. The king is an honest and kind ruler. Don't worry friend. I'm sure together, we will figure out a way to bring an end to this menace.... Lancelot replied with a smile. Thank you, Lex…. A carriage is approaching their direction as they all stared at it with interest. Prince Lancelot mutters. That carriage looks quite familiar. I wonder who's riding on it?…..

The carriage suddenly comes to a halt, as Anastasia comes out from the carriage and started running towards them. Gwen and Lucas following along. Lancelot surprised and excited, as he runs over to embrace Anastasia. He joyfully lifted her up and started to spin her around. The others Surprised. Lancelot, come on, put me down! I'm no longer a child. Anastasia mutters shyly. Lancelot smiled. Where are my manners. He quickly puts her down as he apologizes.

I'm so sorry, 'Your Highness'. I got carried away. Gwen felt jealous as she tries to push the feeling away. Lex speaks up. You two act quite close…. Lancelot smiled. Lex, remember when I told you, there was a girl who had stolen my heart and I wish to get married to her in the future, if her father agrees to my proposal. She's the same lady, 'princess Anastasia'.... Gwen troubled by his sudden confession as she speaks her heart. Then, what about me, 'Your Highness?' She declared. I've been betrothed to you according to the laws of our Kingdom. She bows. I find you worthy my lord, to be my husband... Lancelot replied. I'm sorry, 'your Highness' but I can't marry you. I've have already made it clear to your dad, 'King Charles', that I won't go ahead with this marriage. It's wrong to marry you off to me not because of love but of a silly rule which holds no significance to me.
