"Just what on earth is happening..."
Pati and the guy stands beside each other in front of a big window showing the scenery from the ninth floor, the scenery makes their scalp tingle in terror as they're totally lucky to be inside the university. It's deserted here, probably only a handful of people are here.
Both of them are in Jayarta City, the biggest city in the country hosting more than 10 million people. But this big city is in total chaos, everything is either trashed or burning.
The guy looks down and finds there are still some survivors running around.
Walkers and Brawlers that Pati fought before were literally crawling everywhere, some of the Zombies are even something that both of them has never seen. Screeching with a powerful and high-pitch sound that makes every running people around it bleed from their ears.
It's horrifying to see such a bustling city with traffic all the time to have dwindled to this state in such a short amount of time, mere hours! The city is in utter destruction.
"W-We're very lucky to be here...", the guy mutters with quivering lips.
Even Pati that doesn't have parents that he needed to save still feels the urgency of the situation, if this keeps up then the entire world will perish, 'Even if I don't care about life and plans on living the rest of my life in jail, I still don't want to see humanity perish like this...'
'This motherfuckers, Where the fuck did they come from? What is that black wind?!', Pati thought while grinding his teeth in anger.
Although he has played many games similar to this context and follows the story thoroughly since he has nothing to do, the feeling of looking at it in real life is completely different. Now Pati can literally feel what the characters inside those games feel.
It's not a great feeling of course.
Even the couple of minutes they're looking out of the window, Pati and the guy probably have seen more deaths than the military veterans that fought against terrorists. The death count is rising rapidly.
Getting slapped on the face by reality, Pati takes out the old green parchment from his pocket.
Pati tries to read it again to no avail, the writings on the old parchment are using a language that he doesn't know. He flips it around trying to find a way to find what this old parchment is for.
But then suddenly, just when he begged the man above the sky to let him read it.
[Do you want to learn Upper First Circle skill, Hammer Fist?]
[Yes or No]
Out of nowhere, a system message appeared in front of his vision putting a light of hope in his eyes. Excitedly, Pati then immediately presses Yes using his mind.
[Learning Hammer Fist requires 600 Chaos, do you want to continue?]
[Yes or No]
'What? It costs Chaos? Does this Chaos becomes the new currency?', Pati thought rubbing his chin in thought, but he eventually presses yes again before the green old parchment burned with green fire and disappear.
Just like that, a feeling that Pati has never felt before downs on him.
It's like being uploaded a piece of certain information directly into his brain as if his brain is a computer, Pati instantly knows the information about how to use the Hammer Fist. Even the bones around his arms changed a bit, he can feel it.
After a minute of this feeling overwhelming Pati's senses, another message appeared.
[Hammer Fist has been successfully learned, you can raise the skill mastery until level 5 by using the skill frequently. Increasing skill mastery will improve the power output and also decrease the Chaos requirement to use the skill]
Pati read the message from the system before a frown appeared on his face.
It's good to know that this skill he learned can be increased in mastery to become stronger, but the problem is the latter part, 'Using skill costs Chaos too? It acts like mana and also currency?'
'Chaos will be King in this world, can it be transferred?', Pati thought as many questions appeared inside his head regarding this unknown matter called Chaos.
But his train of thoughts was interrupted when the guy beside him elbowed him.
"Look at that weird light! Can you also see it?", the guy asks pointing at the front just a couple of miles away where a green light is shooting up to the sky, it's more like an aura than a light.
This sparks curiosity in Pati, "I see it, what the fuck is that?"
"Okay there's no need to think about that, I'm going out to test something. Don't get in my way", Pati shakes his head and said turning around and intending to leave the classroom.
Hearing this, the guy snorted, "Fine, I'm just going to check my status window hmph!"
After getting out of the classroom, Pati looks left and right cautiously not wanting to meet another Brawler. The coast is clear and he finally gets out of the classroom.
For some reason, learning the Hammer Fist skill makes his arms feel better.
It's still bruised don't get him wrong but it's bearable.
'Let's try this Hammer Fist, I need to find out how many Chaos it costs before allocating my Chaos into my stats', Pati thought while walking down the university hallway, he got 1600 Chaos from eating that Brawler's brain and used 600 to learn Hammer Fist skill.
1000 Chaos was left in his pocket, and he needs to be smart about it.
The inside of the university is square-shaped with the middle being hollow, each floor only goes around in a square leaving the middle part empty. Because of that, Pati can look down from the ninth floor and finds a couple of Walkers.
Pati saw a wandering Walker on the seventh floor, two floors beneath him.
When he was about to go down, coincidentally he finds two Walkers near the elevator down in the old part of the university. It saves him the trouble of going down to the seventh floor.
Raah!
Both Walkers slowly walks toward Pati growling with saliva dripping from their mouth.
If he wanted to kill them he can probably kill them with his butcher knife with one swing since his strength is 36, but his objective right now is to find out the Hammer Fist Skill cost.
Pati prepares himself to activate the Hammer Fist skill,
The information he got from absorbing the green old parchment tells Pati that he only needs to will the skill with his mind and clasp his hands together to make a hammer, he did just that and instantly feel a change.
Looking at his clasp hands, Pati finds that his hands look to be hardened.
They even look to be glowing but it must be Pati's imagination. But one thing is for sure, Pati can feel the power inside his arms and muscles that seems to be amplified by this Hammer Fist skill.
After inspecting his hands, Pati jumped at both Walkers before he swings down powerfully.
Boom!
Splat!
Shocking Pati to his core, both of the Walkers got instantly squished with a swing of his clasp hands. The attack broke their bones and everything literally squishing them to meat paste.
Blood exploded from the Walkers' bodies and decorate the surrounding in red.
Pati even finds some of the Walkers' intestines are blown away about four or five feet from him, he looks at his hands in delight realizing that the skill is very useful. Smashing the Walkers into meat paste feels very good.
[Gained a level 4...]
[Gained a level 4 Walker Chaos]
[Class restriction has been employed, unable to absorb gained Chaos!]
After the system messages, Pati then mutters, "Status window..."
[Pati Sinaga]
Level: 4
Race: Human
Class: Brain Eater
Title: None
[Stats]
Health: 300 (100)
Insanity: 0 (-)
Chaos: 950
Strength: 36 (10)
Agility: 11 (10)
Vitality: 18 (10)
[Skills Window]
Active: Hammer Fist Lvl 1
Passive: Zombie Mind (Max)
Looking at his status window, Pati finds that his Chaos got decreased, 'So it takes 50 Chaos to use Hammer Fist one time? It's pretty expensive considering 100 Chaos equals one stats point'
But his eyes then landed on the Walkers' brains that thankfully can be deciphered.
'With this and my stats, I'm basically invincible against these Walkers. Let's grind them all!'
A moment later,
The guy who is sitting on one of the chairs in the classroom is busy seeing his status window, he's trying to keep himself sane in the midst of chaos ensued.
Even with his personality, he still can't help but think about his family.
"Mom, Emily... I hope both of you are okay. Please be okay...", the guy mutters with a solemn look. With the condition outside, he knows that the probability of his family being alive is small but he still holds onto the hope that they're still alive.
But then suddenly, the door to the classroom burst open and close again.
The guy can only see something thrown from the classroom door before making a splattering squish sound upon landing on the ground, this caught the guy off guard. He stands up from his seat, before approaching the gooey thing.
It's a bit dark and dim inside the classroom, so he can't really see clearly.
Upon looking at the thing lying on the ground, the guy frown but before he can decipher what it is the door is opened again. Pati throws something in his hand into the classroom randomly and it hits the guy right on his face.
"What the fuck is this?!", the guy cursed grabbing the gooey thing on his face.
But upon looking at the gooey thing, the guy widens his eyes in realization, "YOU SICK FUCK! Why are you throwing brains inside the classroom you damn psychopath!"
Outside of the classroom, Pati is doing a silent massacre.
Pati went around the university going to the Janitor's room before killing a couple of Walkers there, he then takes their brains and throws them inside the classroom the guy is in. He kept doing that to all floors.
Currently, he's a little bit full from eating the Brawler's brain so he will store them instead.
Right now Pati is on the sixth floor heading to the Janitor's room on this floor, in total he already killed about five Walkers that some he met in the hallway and some in the Janitor's room.
But on this floor, Pati is walking slowly almost like a kid trying to get inside his house late at night not wanting his parents to wake up.
That is because he saw a Brawler walking on the first floor.
Even though he got stronger from when he fought against the Brawler near the cafeteria, the one that the guy lead to him. He managed to beat it using a broken pole and its own strength.
Fighting the Brawler head-on? Pati is still not confident even with the Hammer Fist skill.
After reaching the Janitor's room, Pati slowly opens the door trying to peek inside to see if there are any Walkers he can kill. When he peeked inside the room, there was no one inside.
With a sigh, Pati closed the door again but his eyes then fall onto the control room.
The control room is right across from the Janitor's room, he then sneaked to the door before he twist the handle to the room and peeked inside. But this time, he closed the door again.
Not because there's no one inside, there's a Zombie inside but it's not a Walker!
"What the fuck was that?!", Pati exclaimed inside his head with rough breathing, he almost got a heart attack seeing the Zombie inside the control room.
From the outfit it's wearing, the Zombie is definitely one of the security guards.
But that Zombie which is sitting in front of many monitors that portray the CCTVs is very fat, it's so fat that it hardly fits the security guard uniform. It has not only a double chin but a triple or even a quadruple chin.
It looks nasty and certainly stronger than the Walkers.
Pati calmed his breathing since the fat Zombie thankfully didn't notice him, if it did then maybe it's already toppled the entire door down with its sheer fat.
'Let's mark this room as a no-go, at least until I'm confident enough', Pati thought.
When he was about to descend down a floor to check if there are any Walkers there, he suddenly glanced to his back hearing a high-pitch scream. Scratch that, he heard many high-pitch screams!
"There are still survivors here? I hope it's only Walkers, if not I'm going to ditch them", Pati mutters to himself, but then he realized what he just said.
Shaking his head, he then corrected himself, "I mean I will tactfully retreat. Yes, that's the word..."
