Chapter 28 - 28. Robotic

Wanted to develop Cara a little before the battle idk though.

Thinking. Thinking was something Cara usually never does, she wasn't meant to think, she thinks. She was meant to compute, to analyze and solve, yet even now she was thinking of this. The circle of light on her temple spinning a deep yellow.

Suddenly Hades opens his eyes and looks upon Arges. Arges was, different from Bronte. Unlike the elder brother, Steropes and him were prone to out bursts, the violent kind. It was why Arges was here, kneeling like a servant instead of standing likean ally. She knows that Hades prefers the latter, they are more productive that way. Bringing her out of her thoughts were his words as all of her processing power was locked on listening to them.

"sigh.. you really have done it now Arges haven't you?" He says as he looks down from his raised throne, the Cyclops looking small in comparison to Hades imposing position. "Killing over a thousand Dark Fae, what in the Styx were you doing!?" In a sudden burst of rage the braziers flames flair, yet the darkness only seems to encroach deeper.

"My lord they attacked me, ambushed me while delivering the armor to Sparta, please lord they forced my hand! I lost all of my servants in the battle!" Arges pleads his head still cowed as he cries for mercy. Hades pauses for a moment taking in all that he had said, then a small sneer grows on his face. Cara smirks only to herself as she sees this, Arges had lied, and Hades hates liars.

"Liar!" He slams his fist in the armrest, his eyes holding no small amount of disgust for the creature before him. Cara couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor thing as it cowered before Hades, Young Lord Meliodas was quite fond of the three brothers.

She continues to watch as Arges quickly tries to save himself. "My Lord I would never, whom ever told you otherwise is a deceiver and wishes to divide us!"

"Oh really? Such person stands with us in this very room." Cara stands there standing beside his throne holding a clipboard to her waist, she was simply looking a Hades, forced to look up at his raised seat.

Cara being the only other person present made it an easy puzzle to solve.

Ever since being created Cara has been some what of a right hand man to Hades. He let her deal with logistics to equip his army, a few projects concerning the mortals and even intelligence gathering. Already she had an extensive network that could see in the few places Hades couldn't, one of them being The Moore's. It was the Dark Fae's homeland and one of the only places to have survived Hades wrath in the war against the Titans.

Their numbers heavily diminished only a few thousand remain. Most of them forced out from the innards of the forest in order to protect it from adventurous humans in search of wealth.

So, when she received information that Arges had decided to intruded on Fae land as well as openly threaten them, resulting in nearly a thousand fae dead, something overcame her. Usually she would wait until more important matters were dealt with however; instead of doing what she had done a dozen times over she reported to Hades immediately, and he was not happy.

Pulling her out of her thoughts Hades starts speaking again, his voice loud throughout the throne room.

"Cara, show him what you showed me." She steps forward and holds her fingers to the glowing blue disk on her temple, her eyes lighting up as a projection appears.

A view of The Moore's are shown a large and magnificent tree line with nothing but darkness and mist beyond it. However instead of serenity and the calmness of nature, there was blood. Arges and his band were less than a thousand feet from the forest clearly meant to ruffle their feathers and it seemed to get the reaction he wanted.

Arges grabs a flying fae by its ankles slamming the man to the ground like a bag of potatoes the soil drenched in whatever was left of him his wings shattered and unrecognizable. All around him were his servants, humans and nymphs devoted to blacksmithing and under his guidance. Unlike Arges they were getting slaughtered, the dark fae using their magic to twist them like wet rags or deflect any accurate arrow.

Yet they could not kill Arges, he was too powerful compared to regular fae soldiers. So he continued to kill them, slaughter is the correct term. Their weak untrained magic was nullified against his skin forged in the pits of the underworld leaving them no better than ants.

Even as they move to flee he continues to pick them out of the air, even biting the head off of one like she was a candy bar. It was gruesome and entirely pointless.

The light fades as her hand returns to her side and she steps back.

Arges kneeled there stunned incapable of finding the words that might save him.

"Explain what that was Cara, I don't think he gets it." Hades say his face returned to a calm neutral yet a hidden rage in his eyes only grow larger.

Speaking in a monotone robotic like voice she explains, "The Fae have been close allies with Lord Hades apostle, Angela and have been on the way to an agreement for the Fae to teach a select few mortals magic; however not only have you jeopardized the deal but have also diminished their numbers even further. The Dark Fae are nearly extinct, with most of their magical knowledge being destroyed in the war of Titans. During your battle you're reported killing at least 7 elder fae(100-200) hindering their struggling species all the more. In conclusion, you have hindered the completion of Lord Hades plans, and that is unacceptable." With the blink of her large brown eyes she stops talking and steps back next to Hades throne.

"You see Arges, I have plans. I have things that need done, deals that need completed and allies that need secured. Yet, not only did you lose the shipment of arms to Sparta you destroyed any of the good will I've been cultivating with the Dark Fae." Hades looks away from Cara, a scowl on his face as he looks down on Arges anger evident in each word.

"They will want reparations, vengeance for their fallen, and as war approaches we cannot afford to not have them by our side against Od-. "

"For what my Lord! They are a weak and pathetic race undeserving of your-" His voice freezes and his body constricts. The light from the braziers flinch and hide as darkness attacks Arges.

"Watch that tongue of your's before I cut it out you boar. You are a Cyclops! What do you know but bronze and fire, it's not your place to think!" Hades stands as Arges struggles, his skin looking infected as darkness burns away at his flesh.

Coming up to him Hades stands at half his height, yet as the Cyclops kneels, his head rests at his waist. Grabbing his bald head he brings his squinted eye up and locks into his.

"You are a tool, one to be used and exercised I don't protect you to give me advice, I don't give you shelter and freedom to tell ME who matters! Know your place!" Hades eyes ignite in a demonic fire. Arges screams in pain as his being burns, his one big eye staring straight into Hades as his soul is engulfed in fire.

The edges of his eye turn black like charcoal until nothing is left but it.

Hades releases his hold on the Cyclops, his large body taking a few seconds to collapse onto the floor.

A moment later and soft firelight retuned to the throne room. Without a word a squad of soldiers enter the room and wordlessly pick up Arges body carrying him out to who knows where. Cara couldn't help but stare at her Lord Hades.

Seeing him so wrathful was a rare occurrence, and seeing him exercise his power so brutally was even rarer for her. However it only made her devotion grow even stronger, he was power, he was God.

Suddenly she was in front of her, his 9ft tall frame forcing her to look up at him, her lithe put together form standing at attention as he was only a breath away.

"When he wakes up deliver him to Brontes, I want this fiasco with the Dark Fae resolved no matter what." He says stoically and walks away into a dark hallway.

"Of course, my Lord"
