The car ride went smoothly because neither Ezra spoke nor Scarlett. Robert, who got a call from his boss, immediately came to pick them both from the police station. He had to hail a taxi and reach them.
Ezra already brought his car driving himself and Scarlett to the police station but he didn't want to drive now as his head wasn't in the right place. He didn't want to drive when he was angry. Plus, he wouldn't want to put Scarlett in danger.
He could see the atmosphere was thick just by looking at their faces. Robert felt sad looking at Scarlett's tear tainted face and her nose which got red from all the crying.
So he kept quiet and just drove until they reached their destination. Robert immediately went out of the car and opened the door for Scarlett. He expected to give her a smile but found her staring blankly at the thin air.
"Ms. Scarlett?" He called out but got no response from her.
