I felt a pat on my left shoulder and I took a glimpse on my left to see who that was. It was none other than Zaku.
"Huh . . . what's up"? I requested.
He gazed at me and smiled. I wonder what was up with him. Had he gone crazy or what?
"Did you understand what Tadashi sensei said"? He asked.
"No. Wait! Are you trying to insult me again"?! I exclaimed.
"No, no, that's not it. You weren't listening intently so you didn't catch what he was saying but I'll let you in on this one. He said that to whet our skills, we can sit closer to the ones we are on the same squad with. And you know what that means, right?". He enquired.
"No, not really. It means that we can position ourselves near Arata, Akari, and Hana. How does that sound"? Zaku asked.
"Man, that's perfect"! I replied and gave him a thumbs up.
"I knew that you would like that mainly because your crush is there. Anyway, I am going there to learn from Arata. I like his battle style. He continued.
Zaku's point of view:
What an idiot? He does and believes everything I say. Well, it's to my advantage here, I suppose. When we change our positions, I will be sure to stay close to Arata There's the likelihood that he is the heir I am looking for. As for Kuragari, he's nothing but a fool.
My point of view:
"Come on, stop teasing me with her. You'll make me blush.
I said.
"Alright, now back to serious business. The plan is that we shall move when they are not around. They may possibly snub us even though it was an order from Tadashi sensei. And the perfect time for the switch is during recess". Zaku elucidated.
"Do you get it"? He asked.
"Well, kind of". I said.
"That's great! I just do not want you screwing up again". He uttered.
"There's no need to worry. This is a piece of cake"! I shrieked.
"Well, I just hope so". Zaku said then, he lifted his bag.
"Where to? And what on earth is in that bag you are carrying"? I asked frantically. Weren't you the one who said that we'd leave when it's recess? What happened to the initial plan?
"I should have known; you truly are a sucker. Didn't you just hear the bell chime?! Zaku hollered.
"No, and even if it did, the guys we want to get rid of are here. Or do you want to blow our cover? I asked.
"Huh . . . this is the first time we've met and not a day has passed by yet you are driving me nuts. Oh, and if you haven't noticed, no one is in the class except us. Pack your stuff and get going; they might arrive any moment from now.
"W-wait where did they all disappear to? No one passed through the door, even I can attest to that". I said.
"They went out of the window. You should have seen that". Zaku answered.
I turned my head and saw the window ajar. Well, I guess that clears up everything.
"How do you expect me to see when I am staring at the opposite side of the window? Well, open your eyes Zaku, I do not have eyes at the back of my head". I uttered.
"Huh . . . what a menace? I am not going to answer any more questions. If we move on at this rate, the time to be used will be exhausted. Pick up your bag and let's get moving". Zaku instructed while he strapped his backpack to his shoulder.
"Umm . . . I didn't bring any bag. After all, what am I going to use it for anyway"? I asked and smiled cause what I said is logical. I wouldn't need a bag for anything in a ninja academy. Would I?
"I do not know for you but for me, it is essential because I store the ninja tools I need for training".
"I guess I would have to replicate my bag for you. You would need something to identify you in your absence or else they might take it that no one is sitting there".
He unfastened the bag from his shoulder and placed it on the table. Then he said,
"I am going to show you the replication meili so watch intently".
Zaku placed his hand on the bag, closed his eyes, and then said,
"Replication meili"!
Instantly after he chanted those words, there appeared a copy of the bag next to the original.
"W-h-o-a, amazing! Can teach it to me"? I requested.
"No, not right now. I'll explain. I just hope it helps you. First, you concentrate enerugi on your palm and then create a mental perception of what you want to replicate. Afterward, you send the signal to your enerugi then BAM! You have a replication. It might sound complicated but when I start training you, you will get a better understanding".
"But it'll have to wait. I do not have the time. Even though today, we will be going for meili training I could use that time, or not. All of it depends on my mood and how hectic the training may be".
Zaku said.
To be honest, I didn't understand a single thing he said but I'll act like I do.
"All set, let's head out". He ordered.
I fastened the replica of Zaku's bag to my shoulder as I stood on my table. Then, I leaped from my table to another till I got to the desired location. And as for Zaku, he held his bag and walked all the way till he got here. My way was more efficient than his thus, making me the pro whiles he's the noob.
"Bahahaha! I beat you to it. I arrived here before you did". I giggled with excitement while standing on Arata's table.
"I decided to walk because I had mud on my shoes but as for you, you had a lot of mud on your shoes and ended up smearing it on other's desks".
"Damn it"! I hollered and got down from the table.
"Oh, and you better clean it up. You do not want to get into trouble with the owners of whoever's desk you dirtied".
Zaku warned me. Yeah right! Zaku is here doing his showoff again. He's always cool while I am lame. Now, I have given myself work and the only option is to use the handkerchief Ichiro gave me. The worst part is that when I get home, I would have to wash and dry it without letting my brother see me. If Ichiro catches me, I am toast. Man, this sucks!
I pulled drew the hankie from my pocket and marinated it in water. Then Zaku said, "Anyway, I am going on ahead. I am getting hungry and I need to help myself to some food. I'll take the window. You take the stairs, I bet you are afraid of heights" Zaku teased. "Also, you better be quick. I do not want anyone suspecting either you or me" He continued. "Lastly, be sure to get out of the class as soon as you are done and delay in coming. So long"!
Yeah right! Like I care. I do not even know the way around here. How does he expect me to get food? He infuriates me, sometimes.
I was just about to begin the cleaning when something popped into my brain. What if I do not have to use my handkerchief to clean that? I could rather use my hands to fetch the mud and then put it inside their bags and then I'll clean the remains with the bottom of their bags.
That idea sounded good to me. The best thing is that no one will suspect me! Well, except Zaku. I placed the handkerchief in my pocket. Then, I did as I thought to every single desk I set foot on and I could say that it was fun. I took pleasure in doing the same thing to Arata because I really hate his guts for some reason. Before I left, I made sure to put my bag near Hana's own. I would like to sit by Akari than beside Hana but Arata sits next to Akari so if I do anything to separate the two, things might get very ugly. So, to be on the safer side, I put my bag on the chair next to Hana's own. Well, I just hope she's tolerable.
