Author's first note.
Hi readers!
Thank you for taking the time to read this note.
I hope you enjoyed reading this story.
This author's note is something cool that I think I will employ for most of my book. It's basically a small intro with a lot of little details on how I start writing.
I'll be sharing what concepts I've used to come up with the story. They're not really important for the story itself, but they are necessary for understanding how I come up with the ideas from an Author's perspective
Basically, it's a bit like a side story, but it's not really a part of the main plot. Sort of like, what happened behind the scene as I thought about writing this and the idea.
Like a sneak peek into the author's brain or a short interview of how this story came to be. It's not really connected to the rest of the story.
Also, I was inspired by other author note or for better or worse some tries to get to 15,000 words count to unlock certain features. So this is my take on it.
But hopefully, you'll enjoy reading it.

I had an inspiration for this story based on nanotechnology + cultivation novels over the years. It's something along the line of:
The world had changed so much over the past few years. The rise of technology in every aspect has made things easier than ever before. With all these new inventions coming out, we can now do just about anything including cultivation.
Also the things that I've been reading as a hobby have helped me create this one-of-a-kind tale. These include; books such as "Nanomachine" series by Eric Choi, "Shattering Glass" by Nidhi Chanani, "Mecha" by Yuu Kamiya, "Divergent" by Veronica Roth, and many more.
All thanks to those amazing authors who gave us great stories to read.
Aside from being influenced by these books, there were also several movies that sparked off my imagination.
Some examples would be Gamer, Divergent, Ex Machina, Her, and even Star Wars.
I really live how a futuristic world impacts the way we think now. How everything changes around us when we discover new ways to change our lives.
So here comes the concept…
The year is 2115 A.D., mankind reached its peak of civilization after discovering the power of nano machines (nanobots).
Nowadays people could use them to enhance their bodies, make themselves stronger, heal faster, etc. This led to humans becoming very powerful beings compared to today.
With the advancements in science and technology, humanity became immortal and no longer needed food or water to survive.
Also, since everyone was able to become super strong, war stopped because nobody wanted to fight each other anymore. Instead, peace reigned across the planet.
Doesn't this sounds like a cultivation story? But instead of using plants herbs, energy, qi, or whatnot, people used microscopic robots called nanobots, pills, or even something similar in cultivation stories but with actual technology.
In fact, they created different types of nanobots depending on their needs. For example, if someone wants to gain strength then he/she would need a specific type of nanobot that only works for increasing muscle mass.
And that's the basic ideas.
There are thousands of possible combinations of nanobots which make human body capable of doing almost any task imaginable.
Even though there were still limitations due to the lack of knowledge regarding the creation of new ones.
That means creating a completely unique kind of nanobot was impossible at least until now.
However, scientists managed to combine existing kinds of nanobots together to form entirely new ones. And thus far, they discovered hundreds of different nanobots.
Each having its own purpose ranging from healing wounds to giving extra strength during battle.
Now let's move forward two hundred years later where everything seemed perfect.
People lived peaceful lives without worries nor concerns. And I'll introduce a catastrophic event.
All in all, this is the premise for me as I write Nocs. I won't be spoiling the name for Nocs or the plot here.

I also use a male lead in this story. Although female leads work too. However, I decided to go with a male protagonist simply because I find men to be interesting characters to begin with.
For this particular story, I'm going to try out another experiment. My last novel was written in third person limited point of view. In this case, however, I'd like to try writing it in first person and maybe a mix of third person view.
I tried it once already while writing my previous novel and found it quite enjoyable. Since I want to test myself again, I went ahead and wrote this entire story in a mix pov.
I did feel weird about changing styles midway through the story. It felt odd at first but eventually, it grew on me. If you don't mind please bear with me throughout the whole process.
If you haven't noticed yet, this story is set in the future. That means no magic exists in this world except for possibly some special cases.
This story takes place in the city known as New York City. It is located somewhere in Superpower of the world atm, something like America?

This is also inspired by a 'what-if' situation, where what if all hell suddenly break loose. What if a deadly virus broke out or a nuclear bomb exploded nearby? Would the world end as we know it? Or will humankind manage to overcome whatever calamity strikes us next?
What would happen if an alien race attacked earth and took away most of the population leaving only a handful behind?
Or perhaps, what if aliens landed on Earth and started invading the countrysides killing millions of innocent civilians.
What happens when nature turns against man? When Mother Nature decides to unleash her wrath upon the unsuspecting masses?
What if the worst disaster ever occurred? Something so horrible that it left nothing but destruction and despair for generations to come.
These questions are answered within this story.

It's hard to believe that this story actually began as a simple idea that I had back in 2016. It was a random thought that popped into my head as I was watching some movie online. I was wondering why didn't anyone thought about this idea before. Why wasn't this done sooner?
Maybe there is but it's not executed the way I would envision it.
It took me a few years to finally come up with a storyline that I think is good enough to be published afterall.
I have a lot of thoughts and ideas about the future. I always wondered what would happen if a pandemic occurs, or if the world is destroyed by hell hounds.
I guess it's safe to say I am obsessed with the apocalypse and post-apocalyptic scenarios. I love the idea of survival, fighting off zombies, mutants, and other creatures roaming around.
I think it's also important to mention that I never thought this story would reach the audience that it has right now. I was hoping to finish it as a full novel, but it's not happening anytime soon. So I decided to release it early so you guys can enjoy it.
I like the idea of webnovel, lightnovel, and such. And I try to foresee what the future will look like for this part of the writing industry. Because for me, it opens up endless possibilities for writing on the go.
The traditional publishing method is a little too rigid or long for me. With webnovels, I can write and publish instantly - daily. Or whenever I need to add content to the platforms I'm publishing in. In fact, I do believe that the webnovels category are a big part of the future.
I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
I look forward to your feedback and comments. Thank you for reading!
