Three weeks have passed since the day out and things haven't changed a lot. Alaric leaves the house at dawn and returns at midnight. One could say he's hiding from someone. Well, Austin and Scarlet are okay... The problem seems to be with Jules who has been going to the hospital regularly after the day out. Louis has observed this but has failed to confront her since he doesn't want her to feel she owes him an explanation for what she does, rather he's keeping a close eye on her.
As expected Al left at dawn for the office to handle a few things. During lunch, he called Austin.
"Hey, calling to check if we are hanging out today?" Al enquired.
"Sorry, I can't make it today. Am a little bit busy." Austin replied.
"What are you up to?" Al enquired.
"Scarlet had a little complication so we are at the hospital for a check-up," Austin explained.
"Is it very serious? Do you need me there?" Al asked.
"Are you a doctor now?" Austin joked.
"I don't think it's that severe. They said it's due to stress and also it's because she's in the second trimester of the pregnancy."
"Okay, then take care of her and call me if you need me," Al said as he hung up.
He heard a knock on the door.
"Come in," Al said.
"Sir you called for me," Nick said.
"Am supposed to have a meeting at 4 pm right?" Al asked.
"Yeah...." Nick confirmed.
"Cancel it." He ordered.
"That can not be done," Nick said.
"What do you mean." Al enquired.
"We've canceled this meeting twice already. Am sorry but they will not cooperate if am to do it again." Nick explained.
"Give them an excuse," Al ordered.
"It won't work sir, the meeting is with the development and marketing team. They've already seen you at work today."
"The meeting will only last only for an hour. I suggest you get ready for it." Nick added.
"I have an hour before that meeting, right?" Al enquired.
"Yeah," Nick replied.
"Good... Change the location for that meeting to the conference room and tell the teams that their meeting has been shifted up to 3 pm." Al ordered.
"Don't tell me you can't do this too."
"I will handle it," Nick said as he left his office to do the adjustments.
Sooner or later he was done with his schedule for the day. Just as he was walking to his office after the last meeting he received a phone call.
"Hey, are you coming?" The caller asked.
"Am on my way, there's no way I will miss this appointment." Al smiled.
"Good, I will be waiting for you." The caller responded as he hung up.
He went for his suit in his office and made his way out of the place immediately.
He started the engine and left for the hospital immediately. He called Nick when he was halfway there.
"Hey"
"Sir you left immediately after the meeting." Nick said.
"Yeah, right now I need you to call my dad and found out where he is." Al ordered.
"Okay, sir." Nick said as he hung up.
Soon after, he got to the hospital and parked the car Nick called him.
"Where's he." Al asked.
"He's out now but he said he will go back in less than 30 minutes time." Nick said.
"It that's the case then book a hotel room for me now." Al ordered.
"You can use your penthouse in the company building or the one at Grey's hotel." Nick reminded him.
"Just do what I asked of you. And make sure it's not any of the Grey's hotels." He warned him.
"Okay sir I will send you the details in less than 5 minutes." Nick said.
"Good." Al hung up.
He called the person right after that call.
"Am here." He said.
"Which car are you in."
"Black Royce." He answered.
"Okay, give me a minute I will be there."
