Chereads / THE BOY I LOVE / Chapter 19 - Truly Sorry

Chapter 19 - Truly Sorry

Gwen sat on one of the bleachers in the basket ball court as she watched Sasha from far away playing basket ball with her brother. Sasha was actually good at it but it wasn't shocking that her younger brother was much more better at it and a bit more taller than her.

He always scored before her and then Sasha would groan and hurl the ball towards him when she picked it up and then yell at him for showing off his height.

She would claim it was only because of his height that he managed to reach the net everytime before she did. Surprisingly he didn't argue with her he just shrugged and continued playing.

The smile on Gwen's lips had two reasons. Her heart and soul were at ease knowing that at least someone from Sasha's family didn't term her evil and actually still cared for her.

The second was this beautiful peace she felt, knowing that her brother, Justin, was no longer being cold towards her. They actually had a good sibling talk last night after dinner. It made her miss the old days so much, she was even willing to spend the night in his room.

She stared at Sasha and Jeremy with a smile on her face thinking if Justin would be okay knowing her sexuality. If he would be okay with the fact that his little sister liked girls and not boys.

No, they just got back together as siblings, it would shock him a lot but why did she feel that he wouldn't push her away. She felt as though he would stand by her and not reject her. Yet still, she didn't want to take any chances.

Jeremy wasn't her brother. She wanted to tell Justin a long time ago so as to let off some steam but he was always so cold to her and she could never really bring herself to. She smiled letting her worries die down as she thought about the apology note he had given to her as well as an expired fruit juice.

The note had read how sorry he was for his past mistreatments and how he wanted to make amends for their broken relationship. She had hugged him in acceptance and took a sip of the fruit juice but it had an horrible taste to it.

He only told her it was expired when she had already taken three sips just to make sure he saw she was liking the juice. Although he played the role of a jerk back there, he still showed that he could be as fun as he used to during childhood. She just hoped badly that this time, everything would be alright with her brother.

Sasha turned to stare at Gwen who was sitting on one of the bleachers staring straight with a smile on her face. It seemed as though she was staring at her but she actually knew it was because the girl was lost in thoughts.

" So.... How's school going?", she heard Jeremy ask rolling the ball in his hands and she smiled. " Going great you punk", she said as she hit the ball off his hand causing the ball to fall down bouncing away

" There's always drama, mischief and school activities to keep me company so I am never bored but sometimes I do miss you guys" she said watching run to go pick the ball before it would completely roll away.

" I know I made you skip school today so we could meet, so here's your sister's sincerest Apology. I'm sorry but not sorry for stealing you away from your school so we could spend time together", she said sitting down on the floor as she folded her legs and he walked over to her doing the same.

" Thanks for telling me about Grandma. I just hope she gets better soon enough", Sasha said causing him to just nod as he ran his long slender fingers through his luscious brown hair in frustration.

Sasha stared at him wondering what was wrong. " Jer?", she called out to him affectionately, letting her hands rest on his left shoulder. He only smiled staring forward before turning to sideways to stare at her. He tucked a strand of her brown hair behind her ear and sighed deeply.

" I wish Dad was more understanding of your sexuality. He really made a big deal out of it that day and still does", Jeremy said letting his hand fall back to his side as he stared straight ahead this time.

He suddenly stood up and walked towards the bleachers while Sasha followed behind. On getting there he picked up his backpack smiling at Gwen who smiled back. Unzipping it, he shoved his hand into it bringing out a small red box with a pink ribbon on it.

He stared at it for a while before turning to stare at Sasha who had already seated next to Gwen . " Mom said I should give this to you", he said handing her the box. She collected the box from him whilst staring at it with slight curiosity.

"She said she knows it's a bit too early but she has no choice since you wouldn't tell her where you live and you won't have me tell her either", Jeremy said softly as he zipped his backpack before turning to stare at Sasha once more.

Sasha stared at the box, her hands holding it tightly as memories from a long time ago flashed in her head. Hardening her emotions, she stood up, and drew his hand out before placing the gift box on it.

" Tell her, that her Sasha died that night when she decided to let her husband throw her out and this Sasha was born another day and that day is my birthday", she said as she stepped down deciding to just walk away from him.

" Mom is very truly sorry Sasha", Jeremy said in a loud voice as he watched her pause in her footsteps before continuing as she walked out leaving him and Gwen there alone.

Gwen stared at the gift box before stretching out her hand to collect it. Jeremy quickly handed it to her. " I'll give this to her", she said in reference to the gift box and he nodded his head in a daze.

Just one night and everything fell apart, their peaceful home was everything to him. He didn't know how much peace mattered till his family lost their peace.

He walked out of the basketball court in a daze. His back pack slung over his shoulders as he thought back to the day when everything came falling apart.
