Bella sighed as she opened the door to the classroom and walked into history class. It would have been at least bearable if the assigned teacher showed up and distracted her with one or two things but no, the teacher Miss Thompson as usual, was not in her seat or near the board or anywhere in the classroom to be precise.
She glared at the teacher's desk before heading to her usual seating spot, the third row and then she sat next to Miles. The class was half filled as students were already used to Miss Thompson not being around most of the times. The woman was a fat lady who knew her words and ate too much.
She didn't have a problem with fat people but considering the fact that she was going to have to pass history before she would be able to graduate high school. History was now very important for her.
And complaining wasn't a thing because literally, no one in border town wants to teach History, stuffs about teenagers of the present, being too much to handle when it came to teaching them history.
She turned to stare at Miles who was writing something down on his notebook and the action suddenly reminded her of Justin. She remembered the words he said to her about her waiting foolishly and she glared at the chalk board as though he was standing there.
" Can you believe he wasn't even sorry. I mean I waited the entire evening for him to show up and at the end of the day he wasn't even sorry, How could someone be so heartless enough to do that?", she lamented softly to Miles, her eyes remained trained on the chalk board but her expression was one of deep thinking.
She didn't notice when Miles's hand immediately curled around the pen he was holding and then he released it and stopped writing. He really wasn't a fan of holding back his anger but Bella insisted he didn't do anything impulsive.
" I don't know what you want me to do Bella", he said angrily drawing her attention towards his frowning face. " It's because I believe he won't learn his lesson unless a few punches visit him and for that you've got to let me hit him. But no, you don't want me to, so what else do you think I should do?", he asked turning his face towards her slightly and he watched her frown.
" Miles I just need someone to listen to what I have to say. Not every problem is solved with a fight alright. And how sure are you that you can take him on? You are attaching too much into this punching thing and if you don't stop, I will not tell you any of my problems again", she said sharply, watching him raising both his hands up in surrender.
Then he picked up his pen and went back to writing causing Bella to sigh deeply. Miles was a good friend, a very good friend at that although it's never easy to find guys who could be so devoted to being friends with a girl, sometimes he could really be a guy guy you know, thinking of punching his way out of every situation.
She wanted to say something calm just to make sure they didn't end up having a real fight because of that jerk, Justin Gray, when Border Town High school's most popular new couple stepped into class.
Bella's grey eyes met with a pair of black ones and Emerald green ones and her face lost expression, her demeanor changed and she adjusted herself well on her seat.
" Kai baby", she heard that silly voice call out in a romantic tone and she felt her hand tighten on the edge of her desk and she held it to control herself from saying anything.
Her ex boyfriend Kai stood tall and mighty with his new fling Pamela Jones next to him as they stood right in front of the class room as though they were taking pictures.
Some of the people present were starting to sing Pam's praises because she had just returned from her trip to Europe and it wasn't a shocker that everyone literally everyone knew about it.
She raised her head up and watched as black haired Pam leaned over Kai's muscled arms and whispered something in his ear which made him smile and walk out of the class. She watched the door close after him and she found herself wondering why he suddenly left.
She moved her gaze away from the door only to end up staring at black eyed Pamela who was smiling sinisterly. The fair young lady was clothed in a all black like she just came out of a movie where she played the bitchy role.
Cool black knee length boots, black jeans and a black leather jacket. Bella rolled her eyes when she saw that Pam continued staring at her while her annoying best friends surrounded.
It was almost closing period and she was expecting to see Pamela soon enough, she had just hoped a bit that the girl would have chosen another class to roam around in.
Being Annabella Curtis, the peace seeker, she removed her eyes staring at anywhere but Pam.
Miles seemed to be staring at her with concern as though he were worried she wouldn't be able to handle Pamela being back from Europe. Pamela did have a thing for striving to ruin Bella's peace of mind.
She heard footsteps approaching and she looked up to see Pamela walking over to her as she picked a seat in front of her sitting sideways and staring at her calmly with that ugly smile on her face but it did make the girl still beautiful.
" I'm back Bella", She finally said and Bella only smiled in response as she opened her History textbook and started going through random stuffs.
" Come on B", Pam urged letting out a light laugh. " You should look more cheerful now that I'm around or are you unhappy because Kai would no longer be running after you like he used to", she said all of a sudden and Bella took in a deep breath.
" Anyways am throwing a party to welcome myself. You are specially invited and so are you Miles, B, it could be a way for you to prove you are not bothered by Kai and I dating, considering the fact that it started after two weeks of your break up with him", Pam said with her usual smile still on and Bella took in another deep breath.
Pam was stepping on her toes and being Annabella Curtis, she would maintain quietness and peace. Bella advised herself in her head trying to repeat all the school's guidance counselor had taught her to do when Pam got on her nerves. Miles wasn't the only impulsive one.
" Uhnn Kai is taking so long", Pam suddenly exclaimed and Miles stared at her with raised eyebrows, did this girl never get tired? He couldn't get involved in girl's drama and he wouldn't be tolerating Pam if it weren't for Bella who said quietness and calmness was better than retaliation.
" I sent him to get me a latte and my boyfriend has been gone ever since. Did he ever get you a latte, B?", she asked causing Bella to look up from her textbook and narrow those pretty grey eyes at Pam.
" Pamela, You seem so happy with your relationship", Bella said with an harmonious smile pasted on her face and Pamela smirked at the revelation.
" Even though Kai is just a used property you are alright with him, you know what I mean, you are always so interested in things that I've used and dumped", she said watching as the smirk on Pamela's face fade immediately.
" If I dump this History textbook in the waste bin, you would claim it immediately and find it of great use, I hope you find Kai of great use too, considering he has also been dumped by me and claimed by you, 'immediately' ", she said still smiling that pretty smile of hers as she stressed the word immediately in reference to Pam's words of Kai and her becoming a thing after two weeks of his break up with her.
Pamela's face drained of all color at the insult. She turned to stare at the entire class and sighed inwardly when she realized no one heard what Bella said but her two best friends, Riley and Charlotte where staring at her with pitiful eyes but once she glared at them they turned to stare ahead.
She glared at Bella and then at Miles who was wearing that funny smile of his. Realizing she had nothing to say, she too turned to the front and wallowed in shame wondering if all Bella had just said were indeed true.
Bella sighed in relief and then the door opened and fat looking Miss Thompson stepped in apologizing for the delay and writing a topic on the chalk board. She sighed and watched as Kai walked into the classroom with the coffee cup taking a seat next to Pam.
He glanced at her only once and their eyes met before he looked away. Arrogant piece of shit, with a deceitful good looking face, it won't take long and Pam would see what she saw that made her run away, she would see. Bella thought inwardly as she stared at them acting all loving.
She returned her focus to the teacher as the woman drew a diagram on the board, oh yeah they were discussing the year 1709 and the happenings in Border town during that year. God damned history.
