Nora was not sure how and why her voice had left the confines of her mouth and had materialized in the form of a loud shout, to go down in the memories of everyone present there.
It was true that she detested needless violence in the first place, but it was also true that she detested David even more!
Her pre- existing hatred for David that was already at a commendable level had surely and inevitably increased after this forest incident to the multiples of ten. In fact, she was now standing at the verge of a chasm of hatred so deep that if she had only two options : either to jump off the cliff or to hold David's hand to be safe, she would happily jump off the cliff without considering the other option even for a single second.
David might be hateful of her because he thought that she was one of his competitors; on the other hand, her hatred for him was rooted in the fact that he was not only trying to get her out of the competition she never wanted to be a part of in the first place, but he was also unknowingly trying to rob her of the only ray of the freedom she had acquired after so many years.
She did not have any complaints to make of her destiny at the moment, because she had gotten completely tired of doing so; and whether intentionally or otherwise, it was the first time her destiny was truly giving her an opportunity to breath in the open air, to talk to real people and roam in the campus of the school, things she had wanted so much.
And then there was this arrogant boy! Who was trying not only to rob her of this opportunity, but wanted to send her back to the deep dark dungeon of the huge castle, where the Moon Goddess was her only companion, apart from her loneliness.
Sometimes, she found herself in a state where she couldn't help but question what could be the problems in her mother's life, that she couldn't even take a stand for the only child she had? Because no matter what had been told to the world, she could not pretend to be oblivious to the biggest truth of her life, that she had only given birth to a single girl wolf! Any hopes regarding her father had left Nora's mind the day she had come to know about the competition - when she had been just seven years old. But this morning, when she had finally been feeling a little blessed with the hope of seeing Myron, Robin, Romera, and Adrin, he had dragged her into a situation where her friends had also been put into danger!
Hence, the conclusion for all these feelings which were going up and down on a rollercoaster inside her brain, was that she was now going to ignore David. She would act as if he never existed for her, throughout the duration of her high school education.
But while she was thinking all this, she heard Louis' voice once again, which pulled her back into the grounds of reality.
"Oh! Oh my Moon Goddess! Nora! Darling, are you alright? Tell me you are alright! I was worried sick for you, you know? And the fear of answering your dad about where his little daughter is, was killing me! After all, I have brought you to the school in my guarantee today."
"Step away! I asked you to leave him alone, it doesn't mean that you and I have suddenly become friends or something! "
Nora wanted to scream these words in Louis' face so badly, but the changing colours of David's face had stopped her from doing this; because in spite of whatever was going on, she had noticed that David did not like the fact that Louis and Nora could be close.
It definitely had to do with one of his core beliefs, that no one could be superior to him, and no one else could be the centre of attention, either!
Thinking this, she had changed her original statements and all she said was ;
"No no, don't worry, I am fine. Luckily, I had Robin and Myron by my side there. Anyway, why are none of you heading to the class? Aren't we getting late already -"
Louis spoke over Noah's last words in an attempt to answer her previous question, which he found baffling because he had assumed that she knew the answer before leaving her palace in the morning itself.
"Don't you know that I have brought you to school today, just so that you can see and examine how small and inconvenient the dorms would be for you. I mean, you will only get a room with basic amenities, and then you will have to adjust to everything else being shared - from the mess, to the lawn! Everything, and you know they even have -"
Nora had begun her counter- argument before letting Louis finish, out of fear that she might not get a chance to voice her opinion.
"But what's the problem in this?! I am ready to share these things with other students -"
"They are not just other students! They are the students of low rank, lower than us! How can a princess be ready to stay with them? If not yourself, at least think about our reputation!!"
The last statement was spoken by David, who finally channeled all his frustration in those words. Up to this point, he had been trying to hear the conversation of Louis and Nora that was full of interruptions, with patience. But when she acknowledged that staying with the students of Beta and Omega Ranks was acceptable to her, he could not hold himself back anymore. He spoke up in the hopes that now, he would get support from everyone, and would be able to get success in keeping her away from the dorms. However, his hopes came crumbling to the ground when he heard Robin's voice in reply to him;
"Before saying anything to her about reputation, why don't you look at your own family first? Because I am sure that there is something very important that you are missing out on right now, brother!!"
