[4:00am]
Sylvis locks the door to her room, she's in disbelief from the news that she just received. She was dressed casually but she has a dubious look in her eyes. She creeps past the stairs, moving towards her son's room. 'I really miss Brakus..he has been gone for so long...' She thinks for a moment, lingering outside of their door.
"I'll be back, Brock" she whispers to herself before whipping around and walking to the staircase. When she gets downstairs, she glances at the dinnertable where they would usually have their family time and a large smile forms on her face instinctually.
The smile disappears from her face as her cell phone starts ringing from inside of her bag, she digs in her purse for a moment before revealing her phone; the name on the callers ID just says 'Boss'. Once she see who is calling her, she gulps nervously 'This isn't exactly an opportune time for him to be calling' she thinks, biting her bottom lip anxiously until the phone stops buzzing and she let's out a groan of relief. "I'll just call him back later" she murmurs. She sets her cell phone to do not disturb before tossing it back into her purse, she takes another nervous look around the house before making her way over to the front door.
She takes one last look at the small living room and kitchen area, there is a small TV on a entertainment center next to a small sofa on one side of the room and there is a tiny kitchen with a table in the center on the other side. "There are so many memories in this house, the fact that I might lose this place it too much.." a tear falls from her eye as she whispers to herself; after a while she turns back towards the door and goes through it, locking it on the way out.
She strides softly to her car, she quickly unlocks the door and climbs into the drivers seat; she starts it up and then reverses out of the driveway before turning and pulling off into the night.
Sylvis is talking on the phone with someone, her jaw is clenched and she has frown on her face "Two more of our clients are backing out? Why would they make such a rash decision without speaking to their main council..." she exclaims to the person on the phone, she rolls her eyes and moans angrily before continuing to talk, "it's idiotic is what it is, and the case was starting to go well, that's the last time I defend someone in a murder case that's for sure!" she abruptly hangs up the phone and throws it into the backseat.
"Shit! the law firm is going to let me go if this keeps up" she grips the bridge of her nose in irritation. 'I need a drink' she thinks to herself . Sylvis is overwhelmed with her job as a defense lawyer, she just lost her third client within the week after losing the first case of her career, allowing an innocent man to be placed behind bars for the rest of his life. She is currently on the way to her office to begin her day at work.
Ring! Ring! her phone begins to ring in the backseat, the screen is facing up and she catches a glimpse of the screen; it says boss, he is calling once again for who knows what at this time of day. "I probably should pick up this time, though it's most likely bad news again" she says forebodingly.
Sylvis brings the car to a stop and reaches into the back seat to grab her phone, she taps the screen and it answers with a click.
She tries to get her words together for a moment before letting out a relaxed greeting, "Hello? What is it boss?" she greets her boss ; the person on the call responds indistinctly . "You got it? Good. What do you need me to do now?" she replies in a low tone, as if trying to avoid being heard. Then suddenly a deep voice can be heard on the other end, "I need someone to collect some debts for me... I hear that's your expertise..." the man continues to speak but the rest of his sentence is unintelligible, afterwards the man hangs up the phone. "Got it" Sylvis says with a sinister smile as she puts tosses her phone back into the seat, she takes a U-turn and pushes the gas down all the way down; she is headed in the direction of the Shopping district.
