In the previous chapter:
"There you are.I've been looking for you.You've been summoned by the central kingdom",a male voice said.
:Present time:
"Your name is Mathew right?",Mirai addressed Mathew who was sitting in a chair in her room.
"Yup.Now,do you know what central kingdom is?",Mathew asked.
"Probably not",Mirai said.
"The central kingdom is the main royal palace of Luciana.All the four kings are a part of it.We reported about your condition and they arranged a congregation regarding your identity",Mathew informed.
"Okay...?",confusion was visible in her eyes.
"Be ready,I've told Hitoshi to make some arrangements",he left with that.
"I wonder what's this about",she was clueless.
"No need to be so confused,I'll go with you.In fact,the four of us will.",Hitoshi stated before entering the room.
"You are a part of us now,so you need to know about the formalities.",he added.
"Okay,when are we leaving?",she asked as she knew it was an important event.
"At the evening,when the sun and the moon will be equal in size,we still have three hours left.You need to change into something formal.But before that,you would you like any arrangements for a bath?",he asked as he felt the need of offering her some refreshment.
"It would be really nice if I can get some.",she accepted the offer.
Five female servants accompanied Mirai to the female bath.It was like a hot spring she had seen in Japan."It's so huge",she thought before entering.
"Ma'am please make yourself comfortable,tell us if you need anything.We will be waiting outside.Your clothes are kept in that shelf."They point towards shelf before leaving.
Mirai was pleased by their humble behavior.She soaked herself in the warm water.For some reason,the water had a pink tint on it and an aroma that made her thirsty."What's this smell?",she said as she noticed the water."Well,anyways",she shrugged it off.
She took her time at the bath."This all feels like a fairy-tale.But,I have no other choices but to believe it",she relaxed her body.
Mirai was surprised when she opened the ledge.In there was a gown.A black one.Mirai didn't like black clothes that much.But,the beauty of the gown was beyond description."Is it really for me?",she said while looking at the garment hanged before her.There was a bath robe beside it."Guess I'll wear it for now",she thought as her body was still wet and it could ruin the gown.
She came to the dressing room behind the bath.Mirai had long brown hair,Remi and Kyo dyed their hair back in high school,she was offered too,but she declined it.She liked the natural color more.But she noticed that there was burgundy tint on her hair.She thought it was her imagination without knowing that it was a part of her physical changes as a vampire.
Two servants knocked before coming in."Ma'am,are you not satisfied by the vestment,should we bring another one?",they asked her.
"No,no I'll wear it after drying myself",she humbly replied.
"Bring in the cosmetics"the older servant ordered the other one.
She entered with a tray full of cosmetics."I don't usually wear them",she said."It's okay if you don't to use them,we were ordered to bring everything you might need".She respectfully replied.
She looked at the tray,there was a variety of vintage products on it.She got curious to see what the cosmetics of vampires looked like."May take a look at it?",she requested.
"Here",the servant handed over the tray to her.
There was a variety of shades of lipsticks and eyeliners on the tray.A light pink color caught her attention."This color will go well with the gown",she thought before picking it up.The color blended in well with her skin tone."You look very prepossessing,ma'am,you should apply an eyeliner too",one of the servants advised.
"Okay",she smile at the servant.
The older servant's eyes widened.That smile reminded her of a special someone.Someone who lefted them long ago.
She applied a thin layer of black eyeliner on her eyelid."Do you need anything else,ma'am?",the younger retainer asked.
"No,this is fine",she was satisfied by the light get up.
"I need to dry my hair,the water here is much denser,it was hard to move in the bath",she said.
"Oh I can help"the older one went to her.
"Movere!",she cast a spell.The water slowly started to drip down.
"Ohh!How did you do it?Do you know magic?",Mirai exclaimed in wonder.
"It's a very ordinary spell,all the female vampires knows it.If you don't mind me asking ma'am,are you by any chance,a human?",the retainer asked.
"Yeah,I'm half human and half vampire",she replied casually,as she continued to dry the hair.
"That's why your smell is mixed",the younger one mumbled.
"I see,should I do your hair too?"the older one was surprised,but she hid it.
Mirai felt bad to reject the offer."Yes please",she agreed.
She did an excellent job.Two small braids on both side on her head,it was joined behind her head by a pearl accessory.
Mirai was satisfied her appearance,not too gorgeous but,the light makeup and her natural looks made her beautiful.
Another maid went inside the room."Ma'am the carriage has arrived.You will be leaving in twenty minutes",the maid bowed before leaving.
"I better hurry",she said before rushing to bring the dress.
"Such a lively young lady",the old women thought.
One had to admit that Mirai was looking very eye catching.She went to the front gate,but no was still there.She got a clear image of the castle now."It's very beautiful",she said while looking at the castle.There was arrangement of lights.So,it looked very bright."I think we can endure this kind of light",she said as she noticed the light wasn't hurting her.A finely decorated carriage was waiting at the main gate."When are they going to show up?"she thought to herself.
"Mirai san,you are here already?",she turned around to see Hitoshi walking up to her in long black coat.
"Oh yeah",she nodded.
"She looks pretty,a good appearance will help to improve her first impression",he thought.
"Mirai",Harris joined.
"You're looking very gorgeous",he winked.
"Thank you",she smiled.
"I think we should leave now",Hitoshi pulled Harris by his shoulder.
The inside of the carriage was very well organized.They all took their seats.
"What about William and Mathew?",she asked.
"They already left to complete some formalities",Harris answered.
"Why are we actually going there?",she asked to figure out.
"To get your granted letter",Hitoshi answered.
"To get this granted letter,you need to prove yourself as a vampire and show your type of magic",Harris told her.
"How am I going to do that?",Mirai had no idea.
"You will know once we reach the palace,it's easy don't worry",Hitoshi said to clear her misconceptions.
"Okay",she replied before looking out of the window.
The place was less crowded than Earth,it was clean,big and beautiful.She saw many people using magic spells.
"I didn't know vampire could use spells",she really didn't."The vampires in the movies doesn't use spells or magic",she added.
"It's not actually magic,you can call it spiritual energy,the type of spell we are good at is determined by our spiritual element.But there are common spells all of us can use,like,the pearl I gave you earlier.
"Oh",she finally understood the thing regarding spells.
"I wonder if I have one,if I really do,then what's my type?"she wondered.
After what it seemed like one hour,they reached the central palace.It was twice bigger than the castle she staying in.
"Wow,I need to prove my abilities here?",she wasn't really confident.
"Let's go,we'll be late",Hitoshi said as he started walking.
"Okay~",she hummed before following him.
They entered a huge room,it was way too big.The seating arrangement was like a round table conference.There were already some administrative personnel there.
"Mirai san,greet them saying Deliciae",Hitoshi advised.
Mirai followed his words.They quietly greeted her back.The weird part was that she had to sit in the middle.
"The kings and the queen are entering!",a guard from outside shouted.Everyone including Mirai stood up.
"Deliciae",all if them greeted the three kings and a beautiful woman.
Mirai could already say which on was Hitoshi's father.Their hair color didn't match,but he had the same yellow orbs as Hitoshi."Isn't there supposed to be four of them?Who's this woman?",she took a gazed at the women.
"He looks so young...oh wait...vampire doesn't age like humans do",she thought.
"So today,we have gathered here for discussing about half human Mirai Takasaki",one of the secretary announced in loud voice.
It seemed like everyone was surprised by the term 'Half human',of course the kings were aware of the fact.
"Okay,okay now don't make the situation uncomfortable for the young lady",Hitoshi's father said with the same smile as Hitoshi.
Mirai felt a little relieved at his words."At least one of them understood",she thought.
"Now Miss,if you don't mind,one of our female assembly member will check your mark",another king who looked like Mathew humbly stated.
"As long as it's the part of the formalities I'd be glad to co operate with everyone here",she said in a confident voice.
"This is not a business meeting Mirai,use a more kind and casual voice",Hitoshi thought to himself.
An old women came to her with a neutral face.Mirai moved her hair to show her mark to women.She held out something like a magnifying glass but it was small.
"Te ipsum probare!"the women said a spell.
The bite mark on her nape started to glow.Mirai couldn't see it,but she felt something warm on her shoulder.
"I knew it",Harris thought to himself.
"So she really is like one of us",Mathew's father,the king of Worlon,thought.
Finally,the women with the three kings decided to spoke up."I,the queen of Xena,accept her as a part of our kingdom",she declared.
"So,she's Harris's mother,I guess she's attending the assembly on behalf of her husband.Such a confusing matter,I'll ask Hitoshi san about it later.At least,she accepted me",Mirai smiled at her.
"Sister,aren't you rushing things too much?",the king of Worlon asked politely.
"No,I'm sure about it.",she was sure of her decision.
"Sister?",it caught Mirai's attention.
"As you wish,sister.I,the king of Coruscant,also accept her in our kingdom",he accepted Mirai gladly.
"Well,I guess I have no other choices",William's father wondered.
"Me too,I welcome her as a part of us now",he smiled at Mirai,which she gladly returned back.
The last stubborn one,Mathew's father also agreed.It's not like he disliked Mirai,he just couldn't trust a half human.
"I,the king of Worlon,also accept her",he finally admitted.
"Now,we need to see what's your spiritual power,young lady",Harris's mother said.
That female member entered the room with a ball in her hand."What's that now?",Mirai thought as she stared at the circular object.
"Please put your hands on Greta ball and concentrate on the light coming out of it",certainly Mirai was good at concentrating.
"That should be easy",she thought,as she was very nervous than she looked.She placed her hands on the ball and tried to concentrate on the illumination of the ball.
The next second the ball started to radiate green light then it turned blue.Harris smiled after looking at the green gleam.
"At the medical field huh?",Hitoshi thought.
"So her spiritual energy is water,the same as William",Mathew's father thought.
Her eyes widened.She smiled in such a way that,automatically made Hitoshi happy."Ohh,this ball is glowing,Hitoshi san,look,I do have a spiritual energy!",she exclaimed at the radiance of the light forgetting her surroundings.
Hitoshi facepalmed himself.Harris just smiled."Man,I wish I had a sister like her",he thought of making her his sister.William had a weird expression and Mathew looked at her in disbelief.
The kings and the queen were now sure that she won't cause any trouble."So,you met a girl just like your mother,Hitoshi?"Hitoshi's father smiled."Such an adorable young lady",Harris's mother was delighted by her reaction.Mathew and William's father smiled at her.
"Now,let's finish this ceremony with the last event",the woman who bought thee Greta ball advised.
"This is a ceremony?I thought it was a serious assembly?And now I have to complete one more formality?",Mirai was so engaged in her thoughts that she didn't notice a very luscious smell taking over the air of the room.She didn't know where this smell was coming from,but it reminded her the smell of the bath.
Hitoshi and his cousins got worried."This is her first time...I wonder if she'll manage it",he thought as some servants entered the room with a tray in their hand.The other three looked bothered too.But,their parents didn't seem to notice it.
After a few minutes,Mirai was holding a small cup in her hands.It didn't took her a single to figure out what it was."Wow,this is very nerve wrecking",she looked at the cup filled with red colored warm liquid.But somehow she found it appetizing.It felt like she was holding a cup of warm milk.She calmed down.The four of them were surprised at how calm she looked."Good,she's not freaking out",Hitoshi thought as he slowly examined her movements.
"Now,let's all take a sip to celebrate of Mirai Takasaki's approvance."They all waited for Mirai as she was the reason why they gathered up there.
She casually took a sip like it was nothing.The smell her thirsty."I'm a vampire right?What's wrong with me drinking it then?"her vampire instincts told her.
She realized what she just did.After living for 25 years of her life,she drank blood,yes blood.But it still didn't shock her.
The four cousins looked at her with surprise filled in their eyes.
"We should enjoy ourselves now"Hitoshi's father aka Harry said before drinking out of the cup.
They all drank it.But what made them worried was Mirai's condition.
"It certainly doesn't taste bad",she smirked while looking at the cup she was holding.
After the 'last event' was over,they gave Mirai a letter.It was written in cursive.She read it.
You are therefore accepted as a part of Luciana now.
Therefore,you must not betray your comrades
Remember,a seal has been placed on you,
if you do anything that opposes our law,
seal will be activated resulting
a painful death.
