Chapter 4 - Chapter 4. Her Family, Past and Present.

That evening Gregory gained new insight to Tina's family as him and Delver shared a few beers on their back porch. Delver had told him of how Tina was as a baby to help prepare him for fatherhood, as well as vented to him about his home life and the torture he endures daily. He told him he had to make sure he distributed his attention evenly among Trinity, Tina, and his first 3 grandchildren while they were there. Otherwise he would get it after they got home. He just wanted to keep the peace with everyone and Jolene would get very irate with him if he didn't show Trinity and her children as much attention as his own child. Delver did raise Trinity as his own and loved her just as much as his own but the more Jolene had seen him bond with Kristina she got jealous and didn't want her other child to feel left out or alone. She had always wanted him to show her first two children as much love and affection as his own. She had spent so much time making sure Mandy and Trinity didn't feel abandoned by their own father that Tina had ended up feeling abandoned by hers. Mandy had seen the effects that it was having on Tina long before anyone else did and the love she had for her baby sister lead her to move out on her own as soon as she could in hopes that Delver would get to spend more time with her. However it did not have the effect she desired. Soon after Mandy had left Trinity became pregnant and became the apple of her mothers eye. In return this meant all of the extra attention went straight towards her and her unborn baby. Trinity was so caught up in being spoiled that she didn't even notice that Tina was being neglected. She was also very ditsy and completely oblivious to the nepotism in the home. Soon after this is when Tina went to live with Gran. They never kept much of contact with each other even though that was their child and Jolene's mother. They sent holiday cards back and forth for years but that was the extent of their relationship with Tina for awhile. Every time Tina would try and make contact with them or go visit she had always felt unwanted and ended up getting into a fight with someone. Her father paid less and less attention to her each time she came around. After she had met Gregory they had gone for family dinners and tried to be involved with them especially after the passing of Gran. But each and every time she left her parents home even more broken hearted then the next. Every time Gregory would tell her " You are number one in my heart always and forever baby girl just remember dream big the world is yours." And each time he said it Tina got butterflies and the whole nights events would completely disappear from her memory, her tears would dry, and she was sure that the man she had found was her one true love and her twin flame. She had lost faith in soul mates after she watched her mother berate her father for years. Gregory found her faith and brought it back to life. He never once tried to drive her away from her family. He knew she had the biggest heart he had ever seen and never wanted her to lose her smile. Despite all she had been through she was still the happiest most optimistic person he had ever met. He had also swore to her Gran before she passed that he would do anything and everything he could for Tina and give her the life she had always dreamt of. He had known that Tina always dreamt of having one big happy family and hoped that would have included her parents and sisters. So she never stopped trying to make things work with them, and Gregory never stood in her way. He gave her everything she wanted just as he promised.
