The speed that the ship was travelling was not that fast and the inexperienced Minks controlling it had made it not perform to its fullest potential so once it had gotten so far away from the island, there had been other ships that had started to appear off in the distance.
The Marine flag was raised high on each of them which announced their affiliation and they were all gaining speed as they chased behind the ship.
Even after facing defeat and suffering at the hands of the Minks on land, they had still gained the courage to continue to pursue them on the seas.
It may have been their sense of duty and justice that had made them wish to continue their pursuit or it was that they had a little more confidence when they were on the sea.
They were well trained for combat at sea so they had believed in their own abilities a little better than when they had faced the Minks up close.
The ships were slowly decreasing the distance between themselves and the Minks then once they had gotten within a certain range, they gave up on pursuing in a straight light.
They caught the winds and started to turn their ships expertly towards different directions as they split off.
Each ship was circling around the ship of the Minks and kept their distance while they had waited for further instructions.
"Await commands.."
"Ready the cannons."
"Aim!"
"Fire!"
There was a total of five ships that had the cannons on one side aimed towards the single ship that was in the middle of them.
Loud noises came from the cannons after the fuses had been lit and had fired the first cannon ball.
The Marine moved quickly once the cannon balls had been fired and they hurried to put a new cannon ball into the cannon along with making other preparations before they could fire another one.
Upon seeing that the ships were circling around and trapping the ship in the middle with little means of escaping, the Minks had started to panic.
The situation seemed a little hopeless and there was little they could come up with as their fate seemed to be sealed.
The cannon balls started to be fired upon the ship but a lot of them had failed to reach the ship.
Some had flown for longer and were more on target so they had went towards the side of the ship or were flying towards parts on the deck.
Upon sensing the incoming cannon balls, Pixel had put away the Vivre Card and gave up directing the way then started to give instructions to each person on board. "Defend the ship! Anyone that is free, find anything that is dangerous or could slow us down and throw it away quickly."
Her body disappeared from where she had stood and reappeared in the air where a cannon ball was flying towards the mast of the ship. "Meridian Iron Tail!"
The hard metallic cannon ball had been met with the tail of Pixel that had gained a full rotations worth of power as she performed a flip before sending her tail crashing towards the cannon ball.
The force had caused the cannon ball to come to a halt before being knocked further away from the ship.
One cannon ball had been aimed much lower and passed through the side of the ship so it caused some damage to the side and insides of the ship.
Micah was busy overseeing the ship and trying to gain more mastery over it. 'Hmm.. these are not quite as advanced as the ones Jessie and James used to use. Controlling them was as simple as pressing a few buttons, pulling some levers or turning a wheel.
There may have been some times when we may have been on a less advanced ship but they were still usually much smaller. It is best to just forget some of that stuff for now and focus on learning from scratch.'
He had seen and used many kinds of inventions that Team Rocket had used against others so he did have so e technical knowledge about them but there was not a lot about less advanced ships and how to steer and manage them.
He felt like he had to go back to the basics and learn from the beginning if he was to be able to do a better job.
His attention was focussed on the shadow guard who had been working tirelessly to not make any mistakes and was kept busy by trying to navigate the ship from the dangers that had surrounded it.
The Minks did have a little time to put aside their belongings or anything that they had been able to bring with them so their hands were a lot more free to be able to move around more without being restricted by or having to worry about something else.
Felice was still resting up from her injuries and very few of them had suffered any serious injuries during their previous battle so those that had been able to move around and were not kept busy had started to jump into action.
The sharp long and curved claws of Misty had been swung out towards a cannon ball that came from one side of the ship which had caused the cannon ball to be slowed down by a lot before being redirected further away.
One cannon ball came flying from the other side and a hoof had met it in the air which caused it to have a lot of its power reduced.
Liquorice had been knocked back a little along with the cannon ball and they both landed on the deck of the ship where they had slipped backward a little until the force had been fully dispersed.
Old Swifty had jumped up into the air and sent out a single slash after unsheathing his sword from its sheath. "Extreme Slice."
The cannon ball was cut in the middle and split apart while having most of its force reduced and missing its intended target so the two halves had landed nearby without causing much damage to the ship.
Harley was just as quick as she made a similar move but had cut the cannon ball so that the top and bottom were split into two halves. "Crescent moon slash!"
Each movement made may have saved the ship from suffering greater damage but depending on each person's individual power and expertise, the damage that they were able to reduce had varied.
Cleo had jumped up into the air and her body made a full rotation before unsheathing her sword which sent out a perfect slash towards another cannon ball. "Full Meridian Divide!"
Some had been able to redirect the cannon balls to another location or sent them back in the direction they had come from while others had been able to hold them off a little or reduce the overall damage by a little.
They may have been able to hold off some of the damage to the ship during the first bombardment but the ships nearby were still circling around and getting a little closer for a better shot.
