The man was covered in blood with his limbs broken and he had a cloth wrapped around his neck which had helped to soak the blood that came from his wound. "Ugh..ha..aah.."
Once he was tossed in front of the feet of Pixel, he had managed to squeeze out a couple or words. "Please.. spare me."
A strange presence came from Pixel who was above him as she had raised his head up to meet her eyes. "Who is behind this? Why have you gone after us like this?"
It was better to find out the details from one of the living so that they could make some further decisions based more on the facts rather than reacting to events that were already happening and having to make their own guesses.
Her voice was very charming and was mixed with her cute appearance which had caused him to stare blankly before falling into a strange trance.
His pain seemed to have been forgotten by him and a small blush appeared on his face as he had continued to stare towards her face. "I.."
Even if he was falling under the charms of Pixel, he did not answer right away due to the fear of those above him.
He kept hesitating so the voice of Pixel had become even more sweet and gentle. "You can tell me. You know you want to."
The charming effect that coerced him had become stronger than before and Pixel had put on a cuter act with how she displayed herself in front of him.
He kept hesitating and then his ears had turned red. "I.. I.. I really do. But I cannot.. the boss will be mad."
Pixel had continued to weaken him. "You.. do not trust me? I can keep a secret."
He had showed a shocked expression like he had done something wrong and started to apologise. "No.. no.. I trust you. I trust you. My boss is a member of the underworld and we are members of the Gaston family.
Well.. how do I say this.. we have worked with the Glutt family of Zou for more than thirty years and this operation is a joint family operation. You see.. if we sell just one of your race then we will earn at least seven hundred thousand berries."
Pixel had put on a slightly excited voice as she had went on to ask. "Oh? So we are really that valuable? How interesting."
The man had agreed with her and went on to explain. "Yes! Depending on how good each one of you are when you are sold then the selling price can even be much higher.
Just the seven hundred thousand berries alone would be enough to last us a long time. Just one of you could help arm many of our family with useful weapons and other things that are needed.
If there are enough of you then we can even save up for a better ship than the one we have. I really wanted to buy myself a good sword with the berries that was split up between us all. It is a shame that I will not be able to use it now."
The voice of Pixel had stopped being gentle like a switch had been flipped and her charming effects had been turned off. "Is that so?"
The man looked a little confused and then came back to his senses. "Huh? What did I say? What did you?"
The pain and his current situation had started to become clear once again as he had realised that he had just told her things that he was not supposed to.
Pixel turned her back on him after releasing him from her grip so he had fallen down behind her. "Kill him."
The shadow guard suddenly moved and pierced the body of the man with a sword which had been aimed towards his heart. "Yes young miss."
Pixel had walked towards Micah and had said. "It seems like we are quite valuable if sold so this must be why we have been targeted like this. I had a bad feeling about the Glutt family before but I did not think they would go as far as to betray our own kind."
Micah had nodded in agreement. "This is very worrying.. the Glutt family could not have been able to move this well even if they were aware of our locations. I suspect that there is someone working with them from the inside. Do you have anyone in mind?"
Cleo who had been silent for some time had suddenly raised her voice. "It couldn't be… brother.. no.."
Pixel had sighed. "It seems that we have got the answer.."
Felice had raised her voice in anger. "How could he do it? Does he not have any pride as a member of the Meridian family? How could he.."
Micah scoffed at her words and said coldly. "Not everyone is so proud and loyal to their bloodline as you might think. Do not forget that all of you heirs are competing against each other. Do not expect your opponent to play by the rules even if you do play by them."
Pixel had stood still for a while as they had argued among themselves until her eyes had shot open. "There are some others that are remaining still. Lets check it out for now. We cannot remain here for too long."
