Karma woke sleepily and looked at the clock on the desk next to the computer. It was 1:05 in the early morning. The time bothered her, and she couldn't fall back to sleep. The numbers cast an eerie green glow into the room. The only other light was from the computers near the bed.
Restless, Karma sat and stretched. Rea rolled over toward her and cushioned his face on her pillow. He looked relaxed while he slept. For a long time, Karma simply watched him.
It had been a while since she and Rea had left the room. Now, as she looked at his eyelids flutter in sleep, she decided she needed to talk to him about his demand that they stay here. In the morning, she would tell him it was time to return to his work on the base. He couldn't ignore all his responsibilities. He had duties to perform. It was nice for the two of them to be together, but it was time for both of them to get back to whatever work they did. They honestly couldn't spend all their time in his room lounging. Gears would soon start complaining they needed some sun. She realized they should both hit the greenhouses.
Besides that, she was going to ask Rea why he wouldn't have sex with her. He'd made love to her right after the incident with Nash but then abruptly stopped. He refused to touch her. She was recovered now. The cut on her stomach had healed almost completely. It was only a faint red line. Whatever Gears had used for the wound had done wonders. The cut on her thigh was still rough, but overall, she was well. It was time they got back into a routine. It was also time Rea stopped treating her like a glass doll. He claimed it was for her health, but they both knew that was a lie.
Two things she was sure of. First, if they got back to their regular routines, then she would probably get her memory back faster. Everyone would be happier if her memories returned.
Second, she was positive that if she were perfectly healthy, Rea would stop turning her down in bed. If they could go back to being close again, that would make them both happier.
Karma rolled over onto her tummy and slipped closer to Rea. She ran her hand over his chest and let her fingers travel until they danced close to his length. A sigh passed his lips. He was rock hard like he always was around her, but if he were fully awake, he would bat her hand away. Why did he fight their attraction?
A mischievous smile kicked up her lips. She peeled the blanket back and scooted down to place her face near his engorged member. Her lips pressed together to stamp down her giggle. Instead of laughing, she let her tongue snake out to slowly run over the swollen purple tip. She wet her fingers so she could let them run down his balls.
When Rea had been younger, the two of them had done a wide variety of sexual acts, and Karma was bewildered at his current prudish behavior. She could recall every naughty thing they had done together. It didn't make sense why he kept her at arm's length.
In the past, Rea had shown her exactly what he liked and what he wanted her to do to him. Now all he ever said was no. She smiled as she kept touching him in an unhurried way. He might say no to her when he was awake, but sleeping, he lifted his hips to seek her touch.
Karma had to lean over him so she could get a better grip on his erection. She held him firmly and started to squeeze him. He thrust into her hand willingly and moaned in a half-asleep, half-awake balance. She closed her mouth over the head of his shaft, stretching her lips over the massive tip. She fed him down her throat to make him even wetter. Her other hand started to make a figure-eight on his balls. Her fingers dropped to the smooth skin at the top of his sack.
A simple rhythm started effortlessly. Soon he bucked his hips. He was fully awake when he sputtered nonsense words.
"Oh, God, stop." Rea's hands went to her hair. Both hands then dropped gently to her shoulders.
Karma slipped him from her mouth, but she didn't fully let go. "Do you mean that?"
"No."
She tried to smile as she settled his shaft back into her mouth.
Rea jerked against her wet tongue, shoving himself further between her damp lips. His rough actions secretly pleased her. She loved when he became swept away by something she did to him. He didn't pull away or stop her. Instead, he mindlessly moved with her.
Soon he became more swollen at her touch. His balls tucked themselves closer to his body. His hands slid up until both were on the back of her head. He shoved his fingers into her thick hair and encouraged her to keep sucking.
He grabbed her hair. His erection shoved further down her throat while he barked out a configuration of nonsense words. He came hard. Shuddering, he let go of her hair. Karma let the hot cream shoot into her mouth and didn't let go completely until every drop was drained ruthlessly from his body. Drips of saliva dribbled down both sides of his hard-on as he collapsed back on the bed.
"Hi, handsome," she whispered as she returned to her spot next to him.
His eyes were open, and he stared at the ceiling fan that spun below the vent grate above him. He didn't speak but kept staring at the lazy circles the fan blades made. He looked sexually satisfied and upset all at the same time. Only Rea could look happy and sad simultaneously.
"That was wrong, Kitten."
"Why was it wrong?" she asked after the silence headed to uncomfortable.
"You shouldn't have done that. I told you, no more sex. Not until your memories—"
"Boring." Karma cut him off and wrinkled her nose. She summed up her best look of irritation, which wasn't too hard. She was irritated.
"When did you get such a stick up your ass? We used to have fun, you and me. Remember the time you tied me to the—"
"No, Karma." Rea cut her off sharply. His retort brought a grin to her face. He didn't fool her. She could see it in his eyes. He did remember.
"What about when I put that toy up my—"
"No, Karma." He cut her off again. "No sex. It's my rule. I'm doing the right thing."
Karma burst out laughing. He scowled at her. She was sure he hated this damn rule as much as she did. Why was he doing it?
"That's a stupid rule."
"Stupid or not, it's the rule. I can't keep doing this." Rea paused. "We can't keep doing this."
Karma got up, snatching the blanket off him. She wrapped the cover around her body with a big sweep of her arms. He was left naked on the bed, looking baffled.
Rea stared at her like she'd lost her mind. She stuck her tongue out and made a knot in the fabric at the center of her chest. A smile played on his lips, but he wouldn't let it out all the way. That bothered her as well. He was probably trying to show her he wasn't backing down. Instead of thinking him cute, she found him frustrating. How dare he tell her she couldn't have him? The two of them were made for each other. They had the kind of chemistry people looked for their entire lives. He was idiotic to waste even one second of their time together. He, of all people, knew how time on this planet could be short. They should make the most of it.
"I remember you once told me I could have you forever. I'm holding you to that."
"No." Rea shook his head, and Karma became livid.
"Fine, I'm going to take a shower now that it's fixed. Then I'm going to get dressed. After I'm dressed, I'm going to the greenhouses." Karma spat the words out as she headed to the bathroom. She stuck her nose in the air, refusing to look at him.
"Oh, no, you're not. It's the middle of the night!" He dove for her off the bed and tried to grab the edge of her blanket.
Happy she'd finally gotten his attention, she shrieked with laughter. She moved too fast for him and made it to the bathroom door mere inches ahead of him. She had the door almost closed when he put his hand on the wood to stop it from shutting. She was always awed at how strong he was.
"We're staying in bed, Karma. I mean it." He looked inflexible, but Karma didn't care.
"I'll stay in bed when you start giving me a reason to be in it." With that, she slammed the door in his face and propped herself against the wooden panel.
One of two things was about to happen. One, either he would take her back to bed and give her what she wanted, or two, Rea would take her to the greenhouses so they could have a chance to talk about their schedules. They needed to settle into a routine. She could explain that to him at the greenhouses. Either way, she figured it was a win-win for her. She wanted him to return to his work, and she wanted to go back to her regular life as well. She must do something around here other than screw and sleep.
