After a while, Natalie watched the policeman approach her. she was sure he wanted to ask about Arnold again and she was sick of it. if he didn't see Arnold, it's because he wasn't coming. Arnold has probably abandoned her.
"You're a lucky one miss Donald's. Mrs. Owens decided not to press charges and asked for your release." She heard the policeman speak.
She didn't reply but only stared at him.
"Well, you can leave after signing these papers." He said, extending some documents to her and Natalie hurriedly signed them. She wanted to leave that place immediately. The atmosphere of the men there choked her.
She got to the entrance of the police station and waited a bit. She still hoped for Arnold to come, but Natalie was disappointed. If the woman didn't cancel the case, she might probably have been locked up by now.
