Back inside the carriage, then continued with their never ending journey. Drisilla prayed for them to reach their destination, they have be camping all day long. D'arcy saw the look on her face but didn't say anything to her. He was like a statue sitting next to his wife.
___
Hours past and they were still on the journey, this time Drusilla peeped through the carriage window and so some building structures far away from her sight. She summoned the courage to speak to D'arcy because she was so uncomfortable the silence.
"Aren't we there yet?
" Yes, we're already at the vampires realm." D'arcy exhaled, letting out a deep sigh. At last they've arrived.
They were welcomed by two scary dragons with fire coming out from their mouth that scared Drusilla almost to death.
"Don't be scared, it'll take some hours to get to the royal palace." D'arcy turned to her tapping her hair.
"So you mean it's a long distance to get to the royal quarters and mere vampires don't ..." She was cut off my D'arcy who crossed his mouth with his index finger ordering her to keep her mouth shut.
" Shhhh... don't speak too much of what you lack knowledge of." D'arcy warned. " You'll get to see the rules of the RIC tribe. "
'Who does he think he his to silence me? He could have just corrected me instead. No! I won't take this anymore.' Drisilla spoke inwardly.
"I know you got alot of questions, just exercise a little more patience. I'll get to answer all of them." He reassured her.
"Alright then. I'll wait."
After a little bit of silence, D'arcy was the first to speak this time.
"You haven't spoken to the vampiress, have you?" He looked down on Drusilla since he was a bit taller than her while in their sitting position.
"The vampiress?" Drisilla wondered what he meant by that.
"Princess Kieran; my sister."He said after reading through what was in her mind.
"Oh not at all!"
"Don't be scared to meet the vampiress, she's not a Sanguinarian like me, so she won't bite."
"I'm not scared!" Drisilla claimed, all of a sudden they heard some noise and check through the window and saw a large gathering of foreigners. Their arriver was announced and the people of the RIC tribe were so excited to meet their prince's bride.
"We've arrived!" D'arcy informed her.
" Phew!" That was all she said.
The coachman opened the carriage door for them, D'arcy made the first step and helped Drusilla out by being a gentleman.
An unknown man came to her, held her hand and kissed it. "Welcome to RIC Kingdom, one of the most..if not the most powerful empire in the whole vampire realm and where the god and goddess of all vampires reside."
" Oh I see" Drusilla smiled at the tall, handsome man who was dressed in a black gothic outfit. Zane and Amdis rushed to welcome the princess.
"Welcome to the RIC Kingdom princess." Amdis smiled at her. She loved seeing Amdis smile. She turned upwards to the sky and discovered it was dark.
"Thanks but is it night already." She kept smiling.
"Not at all Princess. We don't deal with sunlight." Zane said.
" Thank you both so much. I really appreciate your warm welcomed." These two vampires, Amdis and Zane. Their smile was something she couldn't get tired of seeing.
" Can you both show her to her room and take her on a tour around?" D'arcy butted in.
" Of course, we will." They both responded in unison. D'arcy then left their presence.
" Shall we?"
" Yes." They took Drusilla on a tour around the palace. " This is beyond my expectations. It is so luxurious, magnificent and extravagant."
"What were you expecting to see?" Zane curiously asked
.
" Actually, due to the books I read; In popular legend, a vampire is a creature, often fanged, that preys upon humans, generally by consuming their blood. Vampires have been featured in folklore and fiction of various cultures for hundreds of years, predominantly in Europe, although belief in them has waned in modern times." Drusilla explained to them about the book Kenia often read to her.
" I'd love to read one of those books." Amdis laughed out loud till his stomach hurts. Drusilla just starred at him with disbelief.
" I also got a point that says; Many cultures have long believed in the extraordinary powers of garlic: from ancient Egypt to Romania, garlic has been used as a natural insect repellent, a natural antibiotic, and as protection against other preternatural evils."
"Modern belief in garlic's curative powers against vampires likely comes from these more ancient beliefs. So I don't know if you guys are afraid of consuming garlic or it might just be another fantasy." Drisilla saw both of them standing like a statue, freezing in their position, it was like she got back at them for laughing at her.
"This might be true princess. We don't consume garlic. But we're not what your so called book described us to be." Zane politely said.
" We also don't like being discovered, we can be the death of ourselves." Amdis chuckled evilly making Drusilla to shiver. These men are scary.
"Oh I see, interesting." She really don't want to make mention of her books to them so as not to make mockery of her.
"You are gonna enjoy this place." The both assured her giving her the warm smile she always loved to see. Now she was busy comparing Amdis and Zane's features in her head.
Zane was more handsome than Amdis no doubt but D'arcy surpassed them. Zane's fingers was not long unlike Amdis and D'arcy. Zane's fingers were painted with black. So strange to Drusilla.
"Can you tell me more about the Prince." Drusilla's statement sent shiver down to the both men's spine. She wondered why their sudden change of attitude. It was as if they were scared of the Prince.
Amdis cleared his throat in order to speak properly. Since he was Zane's spokesman.
"The Prince is gonna tell you about that once you both have settled down as for now, let's continue with the tour."
