Chapter 129 - 127: A Company of Fools: Operation of Influence II

"You done?" I asked Sin as I materialized out of his shadow.

Sin let out the most girlish scream I had ever heard and spun around swinging his axes. Thankfully, the effects of the spell I was under made it so that his attacks passed right through my spectral body. Once again, Sin let out a loud girly scream and jumped back. While I just laughed and shook my head.

"Really, Sinner?" I chuckled. Realizing it was me blushed deeply and glared at me.

"Don't do that!" He snapped. I glanced behind him to the two more dead red dragons. "We're not talking using that mental link of yours anymore?"

I replied. I made sure to say Sin's nickname as forebodingly as I could. It had the desired effect, and he shivered visibly and glared at me.

"Never mind vocal it is." Sin said, then dispelled his axes. "So we got all of the red dragons in the building, I only killed seven." He reported.

"I know, I killed the rest. Bone-lasher and Alpa'nagia took care of all the ones guarding the perimeter." I reported. Sin nodded approvingly.

"You and your evos work fast." He said, his tone conveyed the tiniest hint of respect.

"Well, when you have a transcended evo and the undisputed king of underground evo fighting on your side, things tend to get done quickly." I said with pride. Sin frowned and cocked his head slightly.

"Transcended evo? What's that?" He asked.

"A evo that was given even greater power using body modification." I replied. Sin looked confused for a second but nodded.

"Let's call the others down here so we can get on with this plan of yours." Sin said. I nodded at him and then headed outside using the front door.

Bone-lasher and Alpa'nagia were already outside waiting for me. Bone-lasher was covered in blood and gore while Alpa'nagia looked to be as clean as pristine as when I summoned him, until I looked closer and realized that his stomach was bulging a little more than usual and his fangs had small traces of blood on the tips.

'He swallowed one of them whole…' I thought, then buried the mental image of him grabbing a unsuspecing red dragon and slowly eating him while the muscles in his throat crushed and worked the poor guy down into his stomach.

"You two did well. Rest up until the stage of the plan." I praised them.

"Thank you, Ssssstar Sssshaper." Alpa'Nagia said, then returned to my crystal.

[Meal was great!] Bone-lasher commented as he returned as well.

I looked up to the sky and could see no trace of Grimm-guard. That was because the sky had become completely overcast, and he was above the clouds. With most of the area without power or lights, Grimm-Guard could descend without worrying about being seen.

I called out over the connection.

Bo exclaimed.

Jade said.

Nate screamed.

I told him.

[Grimm, can you fly down and land around the building, make sure you don't drop Nate while you're at it?] I asked.

[Yes Star Boss, though the loud human is getting on my nerves with his screaming.] Grimm-Guard replied.

[Don't worry about that he won't be your problem once you land.] I told Grimm-Guard. I felt a wave of positive emotions coming from Grimm-Guard as he descended from the sky.

I told him.

Bo exclaimed. i looked up and saw Grimm-Guard's shadow as the massive evo descended from the clouds and quickly flew towards the building. To anyone looking up in the sky all they would see is a dark figure descending from the sky, it was way too dark to make out what Grimm-Guard was.

A very evil thought crept into my mind as I saw Grimm-Guard's shadow move across the ground. I quickly melded into his shadow as it passed and traveled along with Grimm-Guard, Nate and Jade. Grimm-Guard wrapped around the roof of the building and slopped his head down the front of the building. Nate came sliding down Grimm-Guards back and crashed into a pile of disguarded mattresses that had probably been displayed inside the building at one time, while Jade climbed down Grimm-Guard then rushed over to her husband.

"Nate! Are you okay?" She asked as she knelt over her husband. Nate groaned and sat up and rubbed his head.

"Yeah…I'm just glad to not be on that evo." Don't know how you and Bo can handle being so high up on that thing." Nate said.

Grimm-Guard chittered venomously and snapped his pincers.

"I'm not a thing human! I'm Star Boss's protector!" Grimm-Guard exclaimed. Nate jumped to his feet and narrowed his eyes at Grimm-Guard.

"Does every one of his evos talk?!" Nate exclaimed.

"No, just the special ones." Grimm-Guard said proudly.

[I'm special!] Bone-lasher snapped at Grimm-Guard through the connection.

[Then why can't you talk?] Grimm-guard teased.

[Don't start you two, both of you are special to me.] I said. I felt a wave off smug satisfaction wash over me from Bone-lasher.

[Told you!]

[Platitudes…] Grimm-Guard chittered.

I ignored them and let them contuinue with their argument. Since everything was being said through my connection to my evo's Nate, Jade, Bo, and Sin had no idea what was being said between us.

"Mom, Dad!" Bo exclaimed as he climbed over the chain-link fence. He then ran over to them, somehow completely glossing over the various blood pools and traces of gore that Bone-lasher and Alpa'nagia left behind.

"Bo!" Nate gasped and rushed over and pulled Bo into a tight hug. Jade smiled and hurried over and hugged their son as well.

"Where's Chase?" Bo asked. Nate let go of Bo and shrugged while he looked at their surroundings.

"Inside maybe, we haven't seen him or Audin yet." Jade offered. Nate nodded and looked towards the entrance. Grimm-Guard had started to coil around the building and take watch of the neighborhood.

"Nothing here but remains and ghosts." Nate said. I chose that persice moment to jump from Grimm-Guard's shadow to Nate's and reach out of the shadow and grab Nate's leg.

"Avenge meeeee!" I gasped in a exagerated and raspy voice. Nate looked down and saw me in that ghastly form and screamed then took off running. He quickly tripped over one of the mattresses that he landed on earlier and tumbled until he slid smack into a metal drum.

I threw my head back and laughed, loudly and heartily. Jade and Bo looked terrified to see me at first but once they heard my laugh Jade narrowed her eyes at me.

"Chase!" Jade exclaimed.

"Gods! I love this spell!" I exclaimed. Jade reared back and tried to slap me but her hand just passed right through my body as if it was smoke. Jade blinked a few times and tried to understand what she just saw then shook her head.

"You chose now of all times to pull a childish prank like that…" She groaned. Bo pulled on his mother's sleeve, when she looked down at Bo he pointed to his dad.

"I think dad knocked himself out when he hit that drum." Bo said. Jade groaned and massaged her forehead.

"Oh for Set's sake!" she exclaimed then stomped over to her husband. She knelt down and quickly checked him out then narrowed her eyes at me. "He's fine, you're right he knocked himself out.

"Oooooh! Dad's going to be maaaad." Bo teased.

"Well I hope somebody caught that ghost…" I snickered.

"So talented and yet so childish." Jade groaned and shook her head. I floated over to Nate and poked his face. Jade swatted at me her hand only finding air. "Chase, can you take Bo inside and start looking at the crates. Decide which ones you want to keep and then we'll torch the rest."

"Yes! Let's go!" Bo exclaimed then ran towards the entrance letting out a whooping holler. "Yay! Guns!"

"I think this is where I fail as a parent…" Jade groaned. I snickered and floated after Bo, quickly melding with his shadow. When he got inside the depot he raced around, running from crate to crate trying to find one that was already open.

He eventually stumbled on Sin who had pried open a knee height crate and was already looking over the guns inside. He hoisted one out of the crate and examined it in the light. It was a Cassik double barrel, also known as the Gonk. The Gonk was a double barrel shotgun that was popularized by the English during WWII. It was often used by foot soldiers to clear out evo encampments and Issila nest in Japan.

"You actually managed to find a descent one." I said as I rose out of Bo's shadow. Sin jumped and dropped the gun. Bo snickered and covered his mouth to try and hide that fact.

"Kingston I'm going to kill you!" Sin growled. I extended my arms out to him and floated a little higher.

"You can't kill the dead!" I exclaimed. Sin curled his lip at me and then picked up and threw the Gonk at me. I caught it in mid-air and looked the gun over. "Pretty decent condition considering they haven't made this gun in almost ninety years."

"These all look like metal sticks to me. I don't know what I'm looking at, to be honest." Sin admitted.

I dispelled the spell I was using and the shadows that had wrapped my body like a cloak melted away, and I was once again a normal flesh and blood looking human.

I walked over to the crate with the Gonks in them and checked to see if they were shipped with any ammo. Gonk's used a special type of slug that made them very effective and difficult to get ahold of. Instead of shooting out buckshot or rock salt, the slugs were filled with sharpened pieces of titanium and diamond bits. The slugs were also twice the size of your average shell and as such it made the barrels larger than normal as well.

Luck was on our side as I found six boxes of ammo at the bottom of the crate underneath the Gonks. I smiled and pulled all the boxes out then pulled out the guns and set them in front of the crate.

I channeled mana into the enchanted ring on my pointer finger and started casting an axiom spell sigil. A small tear in space appeared in front of me about the size of my palm and then opened wider until it was the width of the crates.

That ring was enchanted with a spell I called void pocket. I had been tinkering with the idea of that spell for a little bit but until I deciphered more of the runic language I didn't know the runes to make it work. The void pocket made a small tear in space that was physically tied to the caster. For as long as I lived anything I placed inside that pocket of space would be inaccessible to anyone. After I died however I wasn't sure if the objects would suddenly reappear or be lost to the empty void of space.

I picked up and tossed the Gonks into the void pocket along with the ammo then dispelled the spell and closed the tear. When I looked back to Sin and Bo, Sin was rubbing his forehead and Bo was looking up at me with inquisitive eyes.

"What was that spell?" Bo asked.

"A new one I came up with at your parents shop, I'm calling it Void pocket. It makes a little pocket dimension for you to store your stuff. Looks like it's working so far." I said. Even though I had dispelled the spelll I was somehow still aware of that little pocket dimension and everything inside it. Like a far away itch that I couldn't scratch.

"What about that other one you used to scare my dad?" Bo asked.

"Don't really have a name for that one yet but I'm thinking the shadra-giest cloak." I replied.

"Oh gods you scared his father too?!" Sin exclaimed. Bo chuckled and nodded.

"Yeah! Scared him so bad he knocked himself out." Bo replied. Sin groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"So I'm stuck with children…" He groaned.

"Let's worry about that later. About what time is a good time to end up at the evo fighting ring?" I asked Sin.

"Around ten, that's usually when all the serious betters start arriving, they also start the open registration for splicers and their evos around that time." Sin explained.

"So baicallly we have a little under four hours to go through all these crates anf figure out what we want to keep annd what we can afford to let get blown up." I summerized. Sin nodded then picked up the crowbar that he used to open the crate.

"Let's get to work." Sin said then headed deeper into the depot.

With my claws still popped in my normal form, I walked over to the next closest crate and pried the lid off. Inside this one was the holy grail of weapons. Thompson MK.4S, the worlds first and only fully automatic weapon. Created by the Golderdeen weapons company in America in 2082, it was heralded as the future of warfare by many in America. Sadly, it was a very expensive future. Just one gun cost more than five hundred million to create thanks to all the complicated parts inside it. For that price, people could buy a half million semi-automatic rifles.

"Fuck yes! Jackpot!" I exclaimed as I lifted the gun out of the crate. There was only one Thompson inside the crate, the rest of the space was filled with ammo and ammo clips.

"That a good gun?" Bo asked.

"This isn't a gun Bo, this is a work of art. A mechanical masterpiece! A Thompson MK.4S. The only fully automatic weapon in the world…" I exclaimed as I held the gun with reverence. "Only three thousand of these exist in the world, there are people back in America that would sell their kidney, left nut, and first born child just to be able to hold this in their hands…it's so fucking beautiful…"

Bo eyed me and the gun then shrugged and walked over to the crate and started pulling all the ammo and ammo clips out.

"If its rare that means its worth money. Put it inside your void pocket and lets see what else they have." Bo said and continued pulling things out.

I immediately did what he suggested and opened the void pocket. Then with the upmost delicacy and care I placed the Thompson inside the pocket dimension then helped Bo throw all the clips and ammo inside as well. When everything was inside I closed the pocket and the two of us went on and started opening other crates.

Jade and Nate joined us eventually. Nate shooting me vicious glare every once in a while we searched. The vast majority of the weapons we found were either crappy surplus weapons or exotic looking blades. Bo managed to find a entire crate of ammo from guns that hadn't been used since WWI but we couldn't find the guns. Jade found four crates filled with gunpowder, just the gunpowder. While Sin found some ancient flintlocks and muskets, about six of each.

Going off a whim I took the flintlocks and the muskets, I had a idea on a future project that I could use them for.

We continued searching well into our third hour when I finally decided to call it and had everyone help set the building to blow. Using the crates of gunpowder that Jade found we set them at structural sections of the building then surrounded them with crates filled with ammo. We left trails of gunpowder throughout the building that all converged at the entrance.

Sure of our work Jade, Bo, Nate, Sin and I all climbed on top of Grimm-Guard's head and Grimm-Guard flew high into the clouds but not before I channeled some burn attribute mana into my hand and flung it at the pile of gunpowder. I by the time we breached the cloud cover a loud thundering boom reverberated below, accompanied by a huge fireball that stretched to the clouds and several smaller but equally as loud explosions.

I told everyone over the mental link.
