"…But before all that, why don't you tell me why the charade? I'm guessing that was you at the diner that I talked to, that other guy doesn't give off the same presence as you do." I asked. Sin sighed and rolled his neck and shoulder.
"That was a misdirection, mostly for my safety. I know a spell that can swap the appearance of two people. If I was going out on a raid in another gang's territory, I swapped my appearance with that of one of my…bodyguards. That way, people started to assume that he was me." Sin explained. He walked over and kicked the head of the guard that was pretending to be him across the ground and sneered.
"I take it from that reaction. Those guys weren't really your bodyguards?" I queried. Sin sneered again, then shook his head.
"They were my jailers." He growled."I'm not working for the red dragons voluntarily. They kidnapped my sister and are holding her hostage. I don't do what they say they're going to kill her."
"Oh shit…" I muttered. Sin nodded and then smiled deviously.
"However, you're going to help me free her." Sin added.
"That's your price for letting Jade go?" I asked.
"Yeah. My sister for that woman. It's an even trade." Sin replied. I scowled and crossed my arms at Sin.
"How do I know that you even have Jade? You just admitted that you weren't working for the red dragons by choice, so why would any who where with them by choice listen to your orders and why were you pretending to be a guard instead of yourself.?" I asked.
"Because you have no choice, because there are only a small number of people that knew I was being blackmailed to join them…most of which are dead now. As to your last question, I pretended that I used up too much mana to cast that spell during our raid earlier. I couldn't assume my role as Audin Akkesin suave yet dangerous red dragon second in command, so I had to settle for Sin, big dumb gonk only good for cracking skulls."
"Now that you mention it, your face does look like a gorillas…" I said, glancing off to the side.. Sin gritted his teeth and glared at me.
"Considering your position, you shouldn't be talking shit about my face!" He snarled.
"Fine, fine. Do you at least have a few guys that are under you who are watching Jade that you trust and can guarantee her safety?" I asked.
"Unfortunately, no. She's being held by men that Salliq picked from the local neighborhood." Sin said, motioning to the head of the goon that was impersonating him.
"Wait, so anything could be happening to her right now!" I exclaimed.
"They were under strict instructions to not harm her." Sin said.
"Oh please! I've only be around the twisted fucks in this gang for a few hours and I can tell they're the type to interpret their orders how they see fit. If left alone for too long who knows what going to happen to her!" I snapped.
"Well they won't be left alone for too long then. I'll go an personally watch them and make sure they behave." Sin said with a frown. He crossed his arms making himself look even larger and more imposing then added.
"Look you don't have any other option other than to listen to me and do what I say. That woman's life depends on you getting my sister."
[Star Boss, we'll look around their shop for her!] Grimm-Guard exclaimed. I felt their presence get further and further away from me as Grimm-Guard tunneled away with Bone-lasher in tow.
I replied.
"I got you already. So do you know where you sister is or how we can get to her?" I asked. Sin scowled even deeper.
"She's kept under the constant watch of Draco, the leader of the red dragons. The son of a bitch basically has her playing house for him!" Sin snarled.
"Wait?! You want us to assault the home base of the red dragons and steal back your sister? That's a bit too suicidal even for me!" I exclaimed.
"Did I say I wanted you to assault the red dragon's home base? No! If you'd shut up and stop jumping to conclusions I could explain my plan a little better!" Sin growled.
I rolled my eyes at him but kept quiet. Sin pulled a folded up piece of paper out of his pocket and handed it to me. I unfolded the paper and arched a brow when I realized that it was a map of Andromeda city. At least the silver and bronze parts of the city. There were two locations marked on the map in the silver city part and more than two dozen in the bronze city part of the map. Sin pulled a marker out of his jacket then pointed to one of the circles on the map.
"That was the warehouse you raided and destroyed a few hours ago. It was one of the dared dragon's largest money maker with the splicer trafficking that was going on inside it, not to mention all the stolen goods that was moving though it. Losing it is going to be a major blow to them…." Sin crossed that mark off the map with an x then pointed to the other mark in the silver city. "…This is another warehouse, only this one us full of evos drugs. It's one of the ways the red dragons maintain control in the bronze city. They flooded the streets with drugs once they took over and made everyone dependent on them to buy more."
"I'm still not hearing a plan here." I said. Sin curled his lip up at me and growled.
"You attack a bunch of the locations on the map, get the red dragons all riled up and make Draco send a bunch of his gang to protect the rest of his little businesses and leave himself defenseless. Then me and you go in, kill him, and get my sister." Sin said through gritted teeth.
"Hmmm…" I grumbled softly as I looked at the map.
Very few of the points were in a position that I could easily hit one and then run to the next before they knew what happened. To make matters worse I had no idea what was at each mark on the map, why it was important to the red dragons, or even the number of gangsters at each point.
"What's that look?" Sin asked, scowling deeper.
"How do I say this nicely…your plan is stupid and risky." I said.
"What?" Sin growled.
"Think for a second Sinner, I've already attacked one kf the red dragon's main money making operations today, which could have been written off as a fluke if I hadn't completely destroyed the building and killed everyone inside. Now if this Draco guy is half as intelligent as a thrad then if I start destroying his business one after another he's going to figure out that he's been betrayed, now who do you think is going to be first on his lists of suspects?"
"W-well…umm…" Sin sputtered. He paused for several moments then scratched his chin.
"Fuck…I didn't think that through…FUCK!"
"Look…I'll make a deal with you. Return Jade to her family and I will help you get your sister back. I'll even help you destroy the red dragons while I'm at it!" I offered with a devilish smirk. Sin frowned at me and crossed his arms.
"You act as if destroying a gang is going to be a simple task! The red dragons are the most powerful gang in the city!" Sin snapped.
"You say this after you literally just tried to blackmail me into fighting them seconds ago…" I said with a huff.
[Found her!] Bone-lasher yelped happily.
I felt my vision blur as Bone-lasher shared his senses with me again and I saw him and Grimm-Guard under a one story building about four blocks away from the Kestrel's shop. It looked as if it was a old house that got abandoned after the red dragons came through. Jade was in a small room about the size of a closet tied up. There were about seven red dragon goons in the room outside hers either pacing, lounging, or running their jaws.
[Kill?] Bone-lasher asked, hos tone almost sounding like a plead.
[KILL!] I replied.
In that instant Grimm-Guard burrowed straight up into the room the red dragons were in making a hole easily big enough for Bone-lasher to get through. A few red dragons fell into the hole as Grimm-Guard retreated back into hos tunnel bit they were quickly disposed of by Bone-lasher as he ran the length of Grimm-Guard's back and jumped put of the hole onto the room. It only took him a few seconds to clear the room of red dragon, he saved the splicer in the group fro last killing him with a quick swipe of his claws.
[Prey hunted.] Bone-lasher informed me as he sat down and started cleaning his paws.
[Good. Grimm-Guard go back and get Bo and Nate and brim them to her.] I replied then switched my connection to Bo and Nate's mental link.
[Yes Star Boss!] Grimm-Guard exclaimed and started heading back to Nate and Bo.
"I'm fucking desperate alright!" Sin snapped, blissfully unaware of the conversation going on in my head.
"I know, which is why I'm even offering to help you find your sister instead of walking away right now." I said.
"What…?" Sin said.
"My evos found Jade and killed those goons that were watching her. She's with her son and husband now. She's safe now and can no longer be used as a bargaining chip." I explained and pointed off in the direction that she was in. Sin's eyes grew wide as my words sunk in.
"Impossible! You couldn't have found her so quickly!" Sin shouted taking a few steps back.
"Yeah, impossible is kind of my thing…" I said looking over at the quickly panicking man. "…which is why I'm offering to help you save your sister. The way I see it, you kind of painted yourself in a corner now. You put all your eggs into on basket thinking you could strong arm me into doing what you wanted and killed your surveillance team. When Draco doesn't hear from them I wonder how he's going to react."
Sin looked down at the heads of his former security team, his eyes widened in terror as he ran his hands through his hair in a panic. He started breathing heavy and pacing around erratically.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, FUCK!" Sin screamed. I watched him for a few moments, he reminded me of child who wasn't uses to having to do things on their own suddenly being thrown to the wolves and expected to cope. I let out a sigh then shook my head.
"You're not that great at strategizing are you?" I asked. Sin froze mid-step with hos hands still in his hair and glanced over at me. "You're used to having orders and a plan already worked put for you instead of having to make one up yourself."
Sin curled his lip and looked away from me, dropping his hands to his side then bringing them up to cross over his chest. The oddly childish display from the larger, older man was very telling. Taking a page from Iris' book I reached up and grabbed Sin by throwing ear and started pulling him towards the entrance to the crater.
"Ow! Ow! Ow! What the fuck! Let me go!" He screamed and tried to yank himself out of my grip. That only made me pinch his ear tighter and toss it a little. "OW! OKAY! OKAY! I'M SORRY! WHERE ARE YOU TAKING ME!"
I stopped twisting his ear but kept pulling him along as I made my way up the crater.
"To make a plan to save your sister and destroy these red gecko fucks." I replied. Sin suddenly stopped resisting and fell silent letting me drag him along.
"Why…?"
"Because I'm a idiot that falls for sob stories like yours…and the red geckos pissed me off royally when I found out they traffic women. Now shut up and come on before I start twisting your ear off again!" I snapped interrupting Sin. I let go of my ear and instead of jumping away he rubbed it vigorously and kept walking in step behind me.
[Grimm-Guard take the Kestrel's back to their shop. Bone-lasher head to my position and me us up…we got some chaos to plan!]
