Chapter 75 - 74: Star Child: Dunes of Tolapo XXXV

'SHIT!' I thought as a ice spear flew at my head. Forcing my mana to stop healing my arms I channeled blast attribute into my legs and jumped to the side. Flames erupted from my legs and propelled me away.

I scrambled to my feet and ran, flooding my left arm with mana, hoping that focusing on the one arm instead of both would speed the recovery, plus that arm had my claws. Mindful of where Geryo, and the others were in the room I dodged Raziri's spells so they didn't get caught in the crossfire.

"I'll have to examine your corpse after I kill you. It's impressive that you were able to heal yourself so quickly without casting a utility spell!" Raziri exclaimed. At this point my left arm was now completely healed.

Jamming my finger into the open wound, I coated my finger into the wound on my right arm and started scribing runes on that arm.

'Please work!' I thought as channeled mana and raced over to Astrid and Damon. The rune glowed and formed a utility spell sigil and a orb of golden energy fromed in my left hand. I dodged a lightning bolt by sliding across the ground to Astrid and pushed the orb into her back.

Waves of golden energy washed over Astrid and she instantly jolted awake. I felt a wave of drowsiness come over me.as I channeled more gravity mana into my left hand and guarded against three lightning bolts. They were broken down for mana and I felt a rush if energy.

"Chase?" Astrid exclaimed. I grabbed her arm and started to run.

"Raziri still alive! Run!" I ordered. Astrid didn't argue and ran as fast as she could while dodging Raziri's attacks.

Astrid asked.

I exclaimed.

I looked over to Raziri, she sat comfortably on my Auntie's seat casting spell after spell with no difficulty. It was then I noticed that the crystals that the elders were encased in glowed slightly as they hovered above Raziri. Every time she cast a spell the glow on the crystals increased slightly. My eyes widened as I realized what was going on.

"She's stealing mana from the elders!" I exclaimed aloud then absorbed another lightning bolt.

"Cleaver boy. Well you figured out my trick, now what can you do about it?" Raziri mocked. "I should probably tell you that it's possible that I could kill them by taking too much mana from them all."

"I'm done with this bitch!" I snapped.

I popped my claws and channeled gravity attribute mana into them then broke away from Astrid and ran towards Baset. I jumped and slashed at the shackles that held her suspended in the air. She fell to the ground and groaned weakly as I blocked Raziri's spells with my gravity claws, absorbing mana and using it to heal my other arm.

I ordered then rushed Raziri.

Seeing me change tactics Raziri swung her arm out and sent a gust of wind slamming into me. I was knocked back and sent sliding to Baset and Astrid's feet.

Astrid cast a offensive spell sigil and three swords of light formed in front if her and fired at the elders. Raziri's eyes widened and she threw her hand up, a mini black hole formed in her hand and broke down the swords before they reached their target. Her farm crystal glowed bright red. She gritted her teeth and cast a offensive spell sigil that flung a fireball at me. This however didn't make the red in her crystal go away.

I informed the others.

Baset and Astrid both cast a offensive spell sigils and fired lightning bolts at the elders. Raziri absorbed the attacks then let out a pained shrieked as the glow of her crystal intensified.

Raziri looked back at the elders then at Astrid, Basst and I and growled then snapped her fingers. The crystal surrounding the elders shattered and they fell to the floor behind their chairs.

I channeled volt attribute mana throughout my entire body and charged her. Raziri cast a defensive spell sigil and a wall of water formed in front of her but I had already switched from channeling volt attribute mana channeling attribute gravity mana in my hand again, the wall was pulled into the mini black hole leaving Raziri exposed.

Her eyes widened with fear as she saw I was only a step away. As she tried to swing her arm put to blow me away again brought my claws down slicing clean through her arm to the elbow.

She let out a haunting scream and tried to get up and run away but there was nowhere to run. My right hand now completely healed I channeled blaze attribute mana into that hand and clamped it over her mouth. Her screams were muffled as the smell of burning flesh filled my nostrils. She tried to push me away with her remaining hand and nub of a arm but I just held on tighter, even if she had managed to push me away the flames from my hand already burned her lung and esophagus. Increasing my mana in that hand the flames engulfed her whole head in a bright blue flames.

She soon stopped struggling and slumped in the elders chair. I let go of her face and shook a step back. For a split second as I glanced down at Raziri's corpse I thought I was okay, then the nausea hit me and I turned and threw up all over the floor. I was haunches over for several heaves until I felt a hand on my back.

"You okay Chase?" Astrid asked. I gave a few more dry heaves then wiped my mouth and stood up straight.

"Never better." I said to mask the nausea then looked around the room. Baset had rushed over to Geryo and was working to get him free. "Help Baset, I'll check on the elders."

Astrid nodded and rushed over to help Baset while rushed around the seats to check on the elders. Elder Luna was conscious already and brushing off stray shards of the crystals that stuck to her clothes and skin. Abra'bo and Dwarm'moo were barely conscious.

"Auntie you okay?" I asked and kneeled down to help her to her feet. Elder Luna smiled softly at me and patted my cheek.

"Better now that I'm no longer stuck in that crystal." She said with a chuckle then her expression turned serious. "What happened to Raziri and Tarrika?"

"Both dead. Raziri killed Tarrika and…" I trailed off and looked to the chair that Raziri was still slumped in. Elder Luna's nose crinkled at bit as the smell of burnt flesh wafted over to us. Her eyes widened as she realized what I was trying to say.

"I see. Well I can only wonder why Raziri would kill her own father but I have to thank you for saving the whole village from Raziri. I know that couldn't have been easy to do." Elder Luna said softly. I shook my head.

"It wasn't just Raziri and Tarrika, Raziri had a partner. Anansi Paragon, Paragon to the Divine Kingdom of Niger. He worked with Raziri to use all of the people of Tolapo village in a human Splicing experiment." I explained. Elder Luna's eyes widened.

"Human Splicing? Why would Raziri work with a mad man preparing to do that to the village?" Elder Luna exclaimed.

"Because she's been experimenting with human Splicing for a while now. This was all less about the Splicing and more about revenge against the village."

"Preposterous!" Dwarm'moo snapped and pushed himself up to a standing position, though he look unsteady on his feet. "Why would this Anansi or whoever he is want revenge on the village?"

"Because he's your son." I said coldly then turned to face Dwarm'moo. He froze like a deer, his eyes wide and mouth open slightly. My eyes darted to Abra'bo and frowned. "Or should I say your son?"

"Don't speak as if you know anything about my family Star keeper! My son died years ago! A disappointment to my name!" Dwarm'moo snapped.

"His corpse is down in the square if you don't believe me." I said pointing to the door. "What's left of it anyway…from what he told me before he died, Anansi had a real reason for hating you two."

"Dwarm'mond!" Abra'bo shouted angrily. "His name was Dwarm'mond! And if it was truly him…I will accept the blame for the attack on the village."

"Do what you want…" I said exhausted of the two elders already.

A small group of warriors rushed into the room shouting for the elders. Elder Luna smiled at me and patted me on the back then walked over to address the warriors and start handing out orders.

Iris reported.

I asked. I felt a wave of exhaustion hit me as I walked around the chairs and started towards Astrid, Baset, and Geryo, who was no longer impaled to the wall.

Iris replied.

I said as I fell face first onto the floor. My vision blurred as I saw Astrid a few warriors running towards me then everything went black.

'I'm getting tired of passing out…' I thought as I slipped away.
