Chapter 36 - Mercury

"Hmm, this..."

Rosalina noticed a gap in the wooden wall behind the bed. She tried to open the gap. And sure enough, the wooden plank came off easily, revealing a hole in the back.

The woman frowned, finding some expensive-looking jewelry inside, as well as a scroll.

Rosalina took all the jewelry, put it in an improvised cloth bag made of pillow case. After that, she took the scroll, opened it and read it.

The content of the document is a handover contract from an organization called the Black Horns to another organization called Seven.

Inside the document was also a small piece of paper containing an order from the Black Horns to Cray to look after the product (Metis) until the time for delivery arrived.

Delivery time is the end of this month. One of the people from Seven will arrive at the bandit base to pick up the product.

"So Cray is just an intermediary..."

[Black Horns and Seven... you know something about them?]

Rosalina shook her head. The two names of these organizations are foreign to her ears. However, at least right now she knew the identity of the group that would most likely be after her.

Rosalina laughed dryly at the thought of her current fate. She needed to develop strength to fight the Demon Lord, but who would have thought, right now she had something chasing her back.

The woman glanced at Metis who was sitting outside the room. Actually, in order to eliminate her pursuers, Rosalina could have just left Metis here. After all, what the two organizations wanted was the elf girl.

But, does Rosalina have the heart to do that? No. She knows very well that if she leaves Metis, her days will be haunted by regret.

Rosalina packed all the things that looked valuable, along with important documents about Metis. Just as she was loading the documents, her eyes suddenly glanced at another document lying under the bed.

Rosalina immediately pulled the paper. Read it briefly, then laughed wryly after realizing its contents.

The contents of the document this time are orders from Farik, one of Jabbar's biological children who asked Cray to kidnap his father and hold him for two weeks. Later, Farik will come to bring back Jabbar with a ransom that has been agreed upon by both parties.

The ransom amount, and the signatures of both parties are clearly stated at the bottom of the document.

Rosalina sighed. Put the document in her pocket. After that, she take a robe hanging on one of the walls, then told Metis to put it on.

"Listen, don't ever lower your hood when there's anyone other than the two of us, don't let anyone know that you're an elf! Now the question is, have you met anyone else here besides the bandits?"

Metis shook his head.

"Good. Then, if anyone asks about you, tell them that you are my sister."

Metis nodded understanding the instructions given by Rosalina. She then firmly lowered the hood of her robes to partially cover her face.

"Now calm down, and just follow me from behind. After we send everyone to the town, I'll figure out a way to get you back to Halam, okay?"

"Hmm, okay."

The two of them descended from the top floor, met the prisoners who had gathered with Jabbar standing in the front, apparently taking on the role as the leader of the group.

Rosalina noticed the womens now wearing more decent clothes. There were even some who took clothes from the corpses of the bandits.

Now it's just a matter of thinking about their steps from here.

First of all, Rosalina introduced the little girl standing behind her as her sister. After that she explained that the two of them were currently on their way to Solmare.

If anyone wants to come with her, she will take them. She did not forbid if there were people who wanted to separate ways and go elsewhere.

The women looked at each other. None of them dared to separate themselves at this time. So, everyone agreed easily to follow Rosalina.

Jabbar, who actually intended to go to Altira, agreed with the decision. He thought that it would be better to return to Solmare than to continue his journey.

"First, we have to get my wagon first. After that we go to Solmare."

Said Rosalina, which was approved by the people in front of her. Jabbar who also nodded as well, then stepped forward. Said that some of his caravans were in the backyard of base.

There are three caravans and three horses. Jabbar said that one caravan could be filled with the food supplies that were in the bandit storage, and the other two could be used to transport people.

"Well, my valuables and some of my horses seem to have been sold. But at least with this caravan, we'll get to Solmare quicker. It's just that, apart from me, we need two more people to coach the other two caravans."

Jabbar said to which one of the women raised her hand. Said she could control one of the caravans. But apart from her, there seemed to be no one else.

"I can do it!"

A little girl's voice echoed in the middle of the discussion. All eyes were on the small figure who had been standing behind Rosalina.

"Metis?"

"It's okay, Sister. Leave it to me!"

'No, it's not okay!'

Metis said confidently. Which made Rosalina worried. It doesn't matter whether she can or not, what she is afraid of is that Metis' identity will be exposed!

Elsewhere.

The former goblin settlement.

Inside the cave, a man with golden blonde hair was observing the state of the room where the Goblin Shaman was supposed to be.

Around the man lay dead three people dressed like adventurers.

From the blood that was still flowing, it seemed that the three people had just died not long ago.

"Master Mercury."

Suddenly a woman's voice was heard calling the man in the middle of the room. Without glancing at the source of the voice, the man answered.

"You're back, Dawn. What did you find in Altira?"

"From the news circulating in the public. The ones responsible for the destruction of this goblin settlement are two people."

"Two?"

"Yeah. Technically three people, but one person named Ricky was only in charge of carrying messages to the guild and bringing reinforcements. He had no part in the annihilation of the goblins. So only two people who destroyed it."

The man, whose name was Mercury, frowned. From the information previously gathered, there shouldn't be a figure that can stop the development of the goblin settlement in Altira right now.

But why are there suddenly two people who can do it?

"Are they high rank adventurers from other cities?"

The black-haired woman called Dawn objected.

"No. They are C-Rank and D-Rank adventurers from Altira."

Mercury was silent for a moment, afraid he had misheard the words of his subordinates.

"What are you saying? C and D, kill all the goblins here? Are you kidding me?! This long-held plan failed just because of two low-class roaches?! Dawn… if this isn't a joke, then what is it?!"

Dawn couldn't answer. The woman was silent with her head down, her clear blue eyes focused on the ground beneath her feet.

"Huuu~" Mercury tried to calm himself, then with cold eyes he asked, "So, where are these two adventurers?"
