Chapter 34 - Die or Surrender?

Sound of gunshot echoed in the forest area around the base. The bandits who were moving to the base panicked. They quickened their footsteps, going as fast as they could to the source of the sound.

Shortly after. Several people arrived at the scene of Rosalina and Cray's fight.

The bandits also witnessed something far beyond expectations. Their leader, Cray, had collapsed lifelessly in front of a woman who bathed in blood.

The woman appears to be holding a blunt black stick. One hand reached into the small bag at her waist, then took out a small object which was somehow inserted into the blunt stick.

After a while, the remaining bandits finally arrived and surrounded Rosalina. They were all ready with their respective weapons. But no one dared to approach.

They kept their distance with a deep-rooted sense of terror. Seeing the corpse of Cray whose body was partially destroyed, how could they not be afraid?

Rosalina herself realized that she was currently surrounded. But somehow, she didn't feel the pressure at all.

Glancing around, she saw the bandits acting furious but from their trembling legs, Rosalina could tell that they actually had no desire to fight.

There was no threat to her if the enemy had no intention of fighting. Now it's just a matter of thinking about what to do with the bandits.

'Kill them or capture them?'

Capture the bandits and hand them over to the authorities. That way, Rosalina might be able to earn some money as well as some fame. Not to mention handing over Cray's corpse seemed like a pretty big deal.

A bandit with mana control like Cray. That bastard must have had a bit of a name.

Rosalina smirked.

One bandit instantly dashed at her with a spear. But Rosalina could see the movement, without moving, Rosalina raised her shotgun. Aiming fire at the enemy that came then... Bang!

The bullet instantly shattered the enemy's head, sending the oncoming body crashing to the ground.

Rosalina looked at the corpse that had fallen not far from her with a cold gaze. Warm blood seemed to pour off the chest that was left of the body.

Everything became silent. The bandits who had wanted to join in on the attack after seeing one of their comrades dared to lunge, now all froze in their respective places.

They all didn't understand what had just happened.

Magic? Is that magic?

Before their eyes, the bandit suddenly lost his head as an explosive sound rang out.

If not magic, then what else?

"Choose. Die or surrender?"

Before the bandits had time to calm the panic within them. Suddenly the woman who had just killed a bandit like an ant, gave an ultimatum.

Surrender? If they surrendered, then it was very likely that they would also die at the hands of the authority. Will be executed publicly. Is it not much different from dying right now!

In the end, the bandits only came to a conclusion.

Run!

Run as far as possible from the crazy woman.

It was as if the bandits' minds had come together. All of them turned around and fled in different directions at the same time. It made Rosalina instantly annoyed, because she couldn't possibly catch all of them.

"Tsk, damn it."

[Looks like you made a blunder.]

"Shut up."

[You're not going after them?]

Rosalina glanced around her, in all directions the bandits were fleeing. She then shook her head.

"It's impossible. Moreover, shotgun bullets were very valuable. Don't want to use it on those useless bandits," Rosalina then turned to the house, "There's still something more important than hunting down those bandits."

Rescue the hostages. With the threat of the bandits gone, now Rosalina can freely release the hostages trapped in the house.

Not to mention, Rosalina herself was convinced that having Cray's head alone was enough to eliminate influences of the bandits in this area. The bandits who ran away, would definitely flee to a more distant place. It will be crazy if they come back to this place. After all, when Rosalina gives the Cray's head to the authorities, they will come to investigate.

Rosalina hung the shotgun behind her back. Then she took the halberd that belonged to Cray.

"Ugh, heavy!"

Rosalina grumbled, but was actually still able to lift the weapon with one hand. She just couldn't move it freely like Cray did.

Not only was her physical strength far below Cray's, but her knowledge of halberd is practically zero. She had seen it several times, but never held it.

"I can't use this."

Rosalina muttered while glancing at her now shattered sword. She let out a long breath, irritated when she recalled the fate of her sword. She kicked Cray's body many times before finally walking into the base.

She first walked over to the corpse of one of the sword-wielding bandits. She picked up the sword, looked at it for a moment which seconds later a disappointment appeared on her face.

"The quality of this sword is much worse than mine. Fu*k! Hey, Theo, can't you give me a sword? Shouldn't there still be swordsmiths on Earth?"

[Give me the money.]

"...Sigh~"

[Anyway, are cold weapons on Earth any better than Etheria? Isn't a weapon like this a fantasy world specialty?]

Rosalina just shrugged. She herself did not know the answer to that statement.

The woman hung the sword she had just picked up on her hip. Then start walking down the stairs to the basement.

Before long, she found a dimly lit, damp corridor, where moans and cries echoed.

Rosalina walked down the corridor until she finally came to a room filled with many two-meter-high cages.

The cages contained dozens of women who had lost hope in their eyes. The women who only wore a tattered white cloth, exposed their curved bodies filled with bruises.

From the condition of their bodies alone, Rosalina immediately understood the experiences felt by the women. And this made Rosalina's heart colder and filled with a very strong killing intent.

All the prisoners are women except for one, Jabbar. The man who was wearing luxurious clothes was confined in one cage alone. His body wasn't as dirty as the female prisoners, but it was obvious that the man couldn't escape torture from the scars that appeared on his face.

Hearing the sound of footsteps approaching, the prisoners immediately shuddered. They immediately lowered their heads, there were even one or two who hid their heads behind their arms.

But after the sound of the footsteps stopped. The prisoners didn't hear the usual ravings of the bandits at all. Not hearing the sound of insults or the sound of bandits approaching one of the prisoners to satisfy their lust.

'There is something strange.'

Everyone thought so, until one of the female prisoners dared to glance at the person who had just arrived.

To her surprise, she saw a woman with a body covered in blood, standing in the middle of the room scanning her surroundings.

The prisoner gulped, then in a trembling voice she asked.

"Who-who-who are yo-you?"

Rosalina turned to the woman who had just let out her voice. She gave a sweet smile then said.

"Only a peddler who stopped by."
