Chapter 14 - These Goblins are too Stupid!

"What's wrong with you? Smiling alone like that?"

When Lyra arrived at the meeting place carrying about twenty wooden bottles filled with water wrapped around her body, the woman found Rosalina perched on top of a tree smiling and laughing to herself.

Previously, Rosalina's expression was so dark and serious about the fate of the captured villagers. Why has it changed drastically now?

"Oh, Lyra. You are back!"

Rosalina, who heard her partner's arrival, immediately jumped down. She gave a thumbs up. Said that the mission has been successfully carried out.

"You mean to tell them about the poisoned water?"

Lyra asked again, lowering the water bottles off her body. She glanced at Rosalina who was grinning widely. Seemed to want to tell that the woman had done more than she should.

"Don't tell me..."

"Hehe, yup! I already threw the poison into their well!"

"..."

Lyra was silent for a moment. Did not expect that Rosalina managed to do all the tasks alone. She thought that sneaking into the monster settlement was impossible for Rosalina.

Her expectation was Rosalina waited for her to arrive, and then they would carry out the plans together. But who would have thought that the majority of the plans they made had been carried out by Rosalina.

Lyra remembered the black smoke that flew into the sky this afternoon. From the sight and then from what Rosalina had done, Lyra could imagine what the woman had done to sneak in there.

"Sigh… good job, Rosa. Now all we have to do is deliver this water and then wait for the majority of the goblins to die."

Lyra said, adding that the distribution of the water would be carried out in the middle of the night. Now, because the poison has been poured. The two of them just have to stand still and monitor the situation for a while.

Lyra hid the water bottles in the bushes. Then she and Rosalina climb the tree. Monitoring the monster settlement from up there.

Lyra used her [Eagle Eye] skill to peer into the settlement. Seeing that there were many goblins lying helpless.

"How long has this situation been going on?" Lyra asked.

"Hmm, about four to five hours."

Lyra then thought. It had been a long time, and until now the goblins had still not realized the cause of their death.

"Did any high-level goblins die?"

"Until now, half of Hobgoblins, two Goblin Warriors, and one Goblin Mage."

"Hmm, I hope those high-ranking goblins die before they realize that there's something wrong with their water source. In particular, the leader of the settlement."

"We can't confirm it because it hasn't come out at all. We have to go in there to determine its fate."

"Let's wait."

The two of them waited all night. Watching the goblins fall one by one after a few minutes of drinking water.

Lyra, who saw the scene, was really surprised. It was obvious that they died after drinking. But, why are no goblins aware of this?

They only realized that the water in their bucket was poisonous. Then change the water from the well, not knowing that the source of the water has been polluted. So the incidence of poisoning continues to repeat.

But what surprised Lyra the most was not the stupidity of the goblins, but the power of the poison Rosalina used.

"Rosa, what poison are you using? Not only could it contaminate a well, but up until now, the goblins weren't suspicious either."

"Hehe, it's called Cyanide. Colorless and odorless poison. If you only look at the condition of the water, humans won't suspect anything, let alone stupid goblins."

"…these goblins are too stupid."

Seeing the number of victims continues to grow. Lyra really didn't understand the green-skinned monster's thinking. Instead of suspecting and stopping the use of water. They instead focused on finding the intruder.

It seemed that the illusion that there was an attack from a group of adventurers that Rosalina created was very effective.

Unfortunately, until now, there had been no sign of death from the leader of the goblin group.

Lyra squinted at the cave entrance. It seemed that she really had to confirm it herself.

Beside Lyra, Rosalina was still smiling to herself. Listening to level up notification tones makes her so happy.

Up until now, her level had increased to level 27. At the time she started the mission, she was still level 15, but who would have thought that she had now gone up by more than ten levels.

Rosalina was honestly a bit annoyed with her system. If the system has a method or poison like this. Why wasn't it given to her earlier?

Wouldn't missions and power-ups be much easier?

Right now, with Rosalina's level, she could be categorized as a D-Rank adventurer. Those at C-Rank had levels around 35 to 50.

There were only eight more levels left before Rosalina could finally reach the minimum level for C-Rank.

She didn't know if she would achieve that in the mission this time. Because right now, the growth of her experience bar has been much slower than before.

"Rosa."

Suddenly Lyra's voice called out. Rosa turned and listened to the explanation from her partner.

Lyra said it was time for her to act. She will send water to the villagers as well as check the inside of the cave.

To make the plan run more smoothly. Lyra asked Rosalina to do another distraction like she did this afternoon.

Currently the number of goblins has indeed decreased considerably. But there was still one Goblin Warrior and two Goblin Mage left. Facing these three monsters is impossible for Lyra.

But in order to enter the cave, they needed to get the three goblins out of the settlement area.

Rosalina nodded in understanding at the order given.

"Rosa, if I don't come back from that cave in an hour. That means something happened to me. Don't be rash and follow me in. Wait for the reinforcements from Altira to come!"

Lyra said, emphasizing the last point. From Rosalina's actions this afternoon, she knew that the woman would jump into the fire to help a friend. For that, Lyra needed to warn her more strongly.

The leader of the goblin group was certainly an evolution of goblins higher than the Goblin Warrior. This monster is too dangerous.

Lyra wanted Rosalin to prioritize the safety of the villagers. If something happened to her in that cave. Lyra was convinced of a change from the actions of a goblin to a villager.

They could have thought that the adventurers who had infiltrated were among the captured, and started a cruel search.

Rosalina had to think of something when that happened.

Hearing all the warnings, Rosalina could only nod in agreement. She understood the role she had to play.

Therefore, before Lyra left. Rosalina took out a bottle of Cyanide. She handed over the bottle, and handed over the use of the poison to her partner.

"I don't know if it still affects the evolution of higher goblins. But, this is the last Cyanide I have. I hope this helps you."

If it was true that the Goblin Shaman was still alive (only Rosalina knew that the leader was the Goblin Shaman), then she hoped that Lyra could use the poison.

Lyra looked at the strange bottle in her hand. The bottle is made of plastic, something that doesn't exist in Etheria. So Lyra has a thousand questions about the origin of the bottle and the poison that Rosalina has.

But all of that was immediately buried in her hearth. This is not the time to be suspicious of one's own comrades. They must act immediately.

The two of them moved in different directions. Rosalina moves into the depths of the forest to create chaos. While Lyra will face the leader of the goblin group.
