"How do I know you?" Dae Ju was surprised.
"Yes, and I know you also very well." the girl said with confidence.
"How?" Dae Ju asked being confused.
"Do you have short time memory loss? Or you really can't recognize me?" she asked coldly. Suddenly Dae Ju remembered a girl who was in a black suit. Who was looking very cool and from whom he was gonna have training.
"Ah! You are that girl whom I met in Mr. Park's mention?" Dae Ju was excited and asked.
"No!" She said and looked at him with her cold eyes.
"Then, who are you?" Dae Ju was confused and tried to remember.
"Yes, I am that girl but why you say it that loudly? What if anyone hears you?" the girl was overprotective about her duty.
"Ah! Then, what are you doing here? Don't tell me now that you are....." Dae Ju stopped and he opened his mouth and acted like he just got a shock.
"Yes, you are right!" the girl said without knowing the truth.
"Oh my gosh! You are gonna betray Detective Park?" Dae Ju asked shockingly.
"Yes!" she answered bravely. But when she heard his full sentence and after processing her mind she shouted,
"No! You fool! Why I will betray him?" she hit on his head and said.
"Ouch! I wasn't sure! I just said because I saw in many dramas that detectives' sidekicks betrayed them." Dae Ju said slowly.
"It's not a drama!" Catherine replied savagely.
"So, how do you get in there?" Dae Ju asked to cover his guilt.
"Are you a spy?"
"For doing an undercover mission?"
"Or you just work for both?" Dae Ju was too curious but she was not in the mood to answer.
"Why you aren't answering me? Are you ignoring me?" Dae Ju asked again. This time Catherine was walking front and Dae Ju was behind him though she was his bodyguard.
"Why you can't keep your mouth shut?" she shouted and stopped.
"Ah! Okay! Don't be mad!" Dae Ju stepped backward and said being afraid.
His whole face turned pale and he was feeling too cold. But he was excited. So, he kept following Catherine.
"Where are you going?" asked Dae Ju after keeping his mouth shut for five minutes.
"I need to go somewhere. I am now going to your home for dropping you. Let's get inside." saying this she pointed at a car. Dae Ju gets inside the car silently and sat down like a very gentle boy. Catherine sits in the driver's seat and starts the car. Soon, they reached near Dae Ju's home. The door was locked from inside. It was already noon and Dae Ju left home in the morning.
"Are you sure you don't need me?" Dae Ju asked after getting out of the car.
"I am very sure! I could handle this case alone! But no, Detective Park allowed you to butt in! Aish! I am gonna be crazy!" saying this to herself she starts the car again.
"Where did you go? I was too worried! Are you okay?" Lina came to him and asked. Dae Ju was afraid of her because he left home without telling her anything and he was afraid that she will be mad at him. But surprising him once again, she was very gentle with him. She took him inside and asked if he was okay or not.
"I am okay," he replied. But his face was telling that he was not okay.
"Your lips are so pale!" she put her hand on his forehead.
"Ah! You are burning up!" she felt his high temperature and said.
"Come here! Before you felt too weak, come upstairs! You need to take a rest!" she got a shock and she was holding her hand. Dae Ju felt less cold just by her touch. He followed her without any words. He felt happy and guilty too. He should have told her before going outside. She must have been very worried and that's why she was acting like this. He smiled and kept following her.
"Lie down! I will go and bring some cold water for you." saying this she makes him sit and forced him to lie down. But suddenly Dae Ju was feeling like he got strength. He felt like he was dreaming. He doesn't want to lie down. But Lina forced him to lie down. He couldn't do anything but obey her. When he lied down, she leaves him and stood up straight to leave and bring those ingredients which she needs. But Dae Ju grabs her hand tightly.
"What happened?" she asked surprisingly.
"I can't resist anymore! Please let me do this!" he said and pulled her to him. When he pulled her, she falls on him and her face was too close to him. Dae Ju didn't think much and grab her lips with his. Lina couldn't understand anything. She was surprised but she didn't force him to stop and let him do what he wanted to. He grabs her and makes her lie beside him. Closing his eyes, he left her hand as he believes in her that she will not get up. He holds her back very softly and continued sucking her soft and attractive lips. He can feel her heart. Her heart was pounding just like his. He opened his eyes and saw her eyes were closed. So, he closed his eyes again.
[After an hour]
Dae Ju was sleeping being tension-free. His fever was going down and he was sweating a lot. Lina kept wetting the towel and put it on his forehead. When she noticed his temperature was going down and he started sweating, she took the towel and start wiping his face, hand and neck. He was in a poor condition. She felt pity on him. She unbuttoned his shirt to wipe his body full of sweat. After she finished her duty, she took the bowl with ice-cold water and went outside. She closed the door and remembered the incident earlier. She smiled and blushed by looking at him. Then she went downstairs.
"Dae Ju! Why you are standing there? Come to us!" his mom said to him. Seo Jin was dressed like a bride and she was looking very beautiful. She has a bouquet of flowers in her hand. His mom and dad was standing next to her but Dae Ju was standing far from them. He wanted to go but he couldn't. Something tied up in his leg and he couldn't go to them.
"Dae Ju-ah! Come to mom!" his mom shouted again.
"I can't!" Dae Ju shouted from his place.
"You can do it!" his mom cheered him. Seeing his mom, Seo Jin and his dad also start to cheer him. But he can't move from his place. Suddenly he noticed that a girl was standing next to him. It was Lina.
"Dae Ju-sshi! Don't you want to go to your parents?" she asked gently.
"I can't! I am stuck!" he said with a poor voice.
"You can come!" saying this smilingly she also went to his parents.
"Lina-ah! Don't leave me alone!" he shouted. But seems like she wasn't listening to him. She reached to his parents and Seo Jin. All of them smiled at him but he couldn't move from his place. Suddenly the path between them starts becoming dark and darker. The ground starts breaking under his feet and it became a huge hole. Dae Ju nearly falls from there but he was trying his best to pull himself up. But after a long fight, he lost and he was falling from there into a very dark place. Lina, his mom, dad, Seo Jin and her husband were watching him from the upside. They were screaming, *You could've come to us if you tried harder!*
"No! I have to go back! I Can't die this way!" he was shouting in his mind while falling from the rock. A dark shadow was following him and said to him,
"I told you, don't try to take my place! Now, accept it! It's your destiny!"
"No! Mom! Dad! Lina! You can't leave me alone!" Dae Ju couldn't even scream because there were no sounds in his throat. He was falling and falling. Suddenly he opened his eyes and sat down directly. He was scared and sweaty. His chest was aching though it was little pain but his heart was beating fast. He was breathing heavily.
"It was a dream!" he understood and leaned on the bed. He tried to calm down but his heart was racing fast. He was thirsty and he looked around if there was any water or not. He found a glass full of water. It was covered with a nice lid. He took the glass from the table and finished it in one gulp. He put his hand on his chest and noticed that his shirt was unbuttoned.
"Why these are open?" he confused. Then he remembered about the kiss.
"Was that dream too?" he tried to figure it out. Actually, he was too sick that he couldn't even understand what was real and what was a dream.
"Last time, when I feel like I kissed her, it was my dream. Maybe it happened this time too!" he sighed and sat down on the bed again. He put his hand on his lips and found that it was dry.
"I remember, I put lip balm on my lips! Then, why it's dry?" he asked to himself but he didn't remember when he put lip balm.
"And why I can smell like a strawberry from my lips? I usually use the lemon flavor!" he tried to sniff his own lips.
"Does that mean.... Ah! Was that real? I really kissed her?" he was astonished.
"Oh! You are up!" Lina came and seeing him sitting she asked.
"Yes," he replied shortly and looked at her. He wanted to know the truth but he can't ask her.
"I make some porridge for you. I'll take them here. You better take some more rest." saying this she left. Actually she came here to check if he gets up or not. And seeing him sitting, she went to bring the porridge. Dae Ju was still thinking about the moment. He got blushed by just thinking of it.
"I wish it could be real!" he said slowly and sighed. He was feeling better than before. After some time, Lina came with a trey. There was a bowl, spoon and water bottle in it.
"Eat well so you can get well soon!" she said and put them in front of him. Dae Ju was sitting and glaring at her but when she looked at him, he moved his eyesight. This continued for a long time.
"About earlier..." both of them said at the same time.
"You go first," Lina said.
"No, you go first." Dae Ju said.
"No, you should say first," Lina said.
"Ladies first" Dae Ju smiled.
"Ah.... About earlier when you....." she was hesitating too much.
"When I what?" he felt curious. He wanted to ask her what he did to her but seeing her hesitating like this he felt fishy.
"The thing is..." she couldn't say the rest of it.
"I hold your hand?" Dae Ju asked.
"After that," Lina replied. Dae Ju remembered what happened after that. He became happy.
"Was that real? I thought I was dreaming!" he said and acted like he was feeling guilty.
"Why you will dream something like that?" her face turned red and she couldn't talk much.
"Ah! I am sorry. I didn't know what I was doing." he said and make a guilty face though he was very happy inside. After that, there was a weird silence. Nobody was talking or looking at each other. Lina was sitting far and looked at the window. Both of them were feeling awkward with each other.
"Do you need something? I will bring that for you." Lina said and when their eyes met, they looked another way immediately.
"No, I don't need anything," he said and looked at her. He was gaining courage. Lina stood up and came to him to check if his temperature went down or not. She put her hand on his forehead and checked the temperature.
"Ah! It's gone now! How could you get well that soon?" she smiled though she was feeling awkward.
"It was lovesickness, babe!" he smiled.
"Hey!" she got more embarrassed and hit him. Then she took the empty bowl and glasses and nearly ran away. Dae Ju was sitting still and when she went from there, he screamed,
"Hooray!" he was like floating over the clouds.
