"Give me your hand." Jheong Woo took Dae Ju's right hand and pulled up his sleeve.
"What are you doing?" he surprised and looked at him while wiping his tears.
"He gave me this and told me to tie it in your arm." he showed the black-colored yarn to Dae Ju.
"Do you really think it can fix everything? A piece of yarn can be solvation of a big problem?" Dae Ju asked him with his poor face.
"I don't know but we don't have another choice." Jheong Woo said gently though he was dissatisfied with him. He tied the yarn on Dae Ju's arm tightly so that it can never drop from his arm.
"Can you tell me what should I do now? I can't understand anything. I can't think of anything!" his eyes filled with tears one more time.
"I know what you should do. He told me the solution but I think it will not that easy," he said and looked at him. Dae Ju didn't say anything he just looked at Jheong Woo with curious eyes.
"He said that lie can never be a solution." Jheong Woo said and looked at him and he guessed that Dae Ju understands what he wanted to say.
"What?" Dae Ju's brain wasn't working right then. Maybe that's why he couldn't understand anything.
"You should tell her the truth," said Jheong Woo.
"And do you think she will believe me? I don't want to. I will never go back to that home." he said with a serious face. Seems like he meant what he was saying.
"Then, where you will live?" Jheong Woo asked.
"I don't know. If I had to then I will live in this street rather than to go home"
"What?" Jheong Woo surprised. He wanted to laugh at him but as it's not a moment for laugh, he controlled himself.
"If you want then it's okay. But I also think that you should apologize to her and tell her the truth or else she can never understand." both of them were still sitting on the road.
"Do you know, where did she go? I think, she escaped from the house and she will never return. If this happens, then it's alright. I will just follow my own path from now on. She should live her life in her own way. What do you say?" Dae Ju looked at Jheong Woo.
"I don't know anything. Do whatever you want. But don't you think, if you don't tell her the truth, she will be traumatized by that night for the rest of her life? Can she ever trust anyone in her life? Won't that night haunt her every night? Do you think, she can get over it that easily? You are only thinking about yourself. But think of yourself as Lina. Can you live that peacefully if there would be nobody to take care of you? To protect you from every danger? To condole you? To lean on you and back?" he stopped and sighed.
"But, How can I stand in front of her? Do you think it will that easy?" Dae Ju asked him.
"I know it's not easy but you should at least try for once." He stood up as his back was hurting. But Dae Ju was still sitting without moving his single body part. If anyone see him right now, he will mistake him like a stone.
"Get up. Come with me." Jheong Woo said.
"Let me spend some time alone," he said with a very low voice.
"No, I can't leave you alone right now. You have to come with me. You don't need to go home. Come to my home for one night." he started walking but when he noticed Dae Ju didn't move at all, he went to him again. He holds his arm and pulled him. But this time he couldn't make him stand up.
"Hey! Get up! Hurry! I need to go home!" he shouted.
"Then why don't you leave me alone?" Dae Ju said with his disappointed face.
"I know you will take the wrong action if I leave you alone. So, I can't leave you alone," he replied and tried again to stand him up. He was true. Though he advises him, Dae Ju was planning something else. He was planning that he will go to the Han bridge now and finish his life in clean water. But, seems like Jheong Woo won't let that happen. He was glued up with Dae Ju and didn't let him spent time alone. He tried again and again. After about fifteen minutes, he finally succeeds to get him up. He took Dae Ju's phone from his pocket to call Lina. He called her and her phone continue ringing but nobody picks up the call. Jheong Woo took him near their house. He wants that Dae Ju will explain everything to Lina and he will be the witness. He wants to see Lina's condition with his own eyes as he still couldn't believe his friend's words. Dae Ju has the key but he was standing in front of the door hoping that someone will come and open the door for them. But, nobody came to open the door.
"It's locked from outside. Seems like she didn't return yet." Jheong Woo said to Dae Ju who was looking at the ground without any hope for life. Jheong Woo took a long breath and take a look at his watch. It's already 10.30 pm. Then he took the key from Dae Ju's pocket and unlocked the door. They entered inside. It was dark as there were no lights turned on. Dae Ju was afraid to get inside. He hold Jheong Woo's shirt from his back and follow him. Jheong Woo turned on the light and see that the room was still messy. That means Lina hasn't returned yet. So, Jheong Woo called her once more. When he called her phone, they heard a ringtone coming from somewhere around. Dae Ju recognizes the music tone and looked around.
"It's Lina's ringtone. She is here!" he searched for her but she was nowhere. Jheong Woo kept calling so that her phone continues ringing and they can track her. But alas! They only found her phone which was kept on the floor beside the couch. Seems like it dropped last night when Dae Ju turned into a beast and lost his own consciousness.
"It's just her phone. She left it here." Jheong Woo said and took the phone.
"I knew it. If I was in her place, I would have fun from here in the night. But she stayed here and waited for morning." Dae Ju said and sat on the couch.
"She is a girl after all. She needs to stay careful for her every step!" Jheong Woo said and sat beside him. Dae Ju bends his head and holds it with both hands. He couldn't understand anything that he should do now.
"You haven't eaten anything for the whole day. Do you want something to eat?" Jheong Woo was with him for all day so he knew about it.
"No! I am not hungry at all." he felt so disappointed that he wasn't hungry at all though he didn't eat anything since last night.
"Hey! Don't be like that! Come on, let's eat something then we will think about what we should do," said Jheong Woo.
"Go and serve yourself. There are many things in the fridge. I am not hungry." he pointed at the fridge and said.
Jheong Woo just wanted to comfy him but seems like he is not in the mood. Jheong Woo sighed and came near to him. But Dae Ju didn't want to listen to him anymore. He gets up and went to the stairs.
"Where are you going?" asked Jheong Woo. But he didn't answer him and keep going. He went upstairs and get inside his room.
"Dae Ju-sshi! Come here or else I will go there," he shouted. But when he noticed that Dae Ju wasn't coming from there and no sounds were coming from upstairs, he got afraid and went to his room.
"Dae Ju-sshi! Hey! Kim Dae Ju! Come out!" he knocked at the door strongly and shouted by his name. But nor Dae Ju was answering or responding with any sound. Jheong Woo kept hitting the door but he didn't respond even for one time. After waiting for some time (nearly fifteen minutes), he broke the door lock and enter inside. He saw Dae Ju was lying on the bed. He was lying upside down so his face wasn't seen. Jheong Woo thought he was still crying. So, he went to him but he got astonished. There was too much blood on the floor. They were dropping from Dae Ju's wrist.
As Jheong Woo assumed, he was trying to kill himself. Suddenly Jheong Woo's mind stops working. He couldn't understand what he should do. But he also can't see him like this. He immediately called an ambulance but they said they will reach within half an hour. If his blood continued dropping for half an hour more, he will not be alive. So, he went to him and flipped his unconscious body. He took his body on his shoulder and almost ran to downstairs. He couldn't load his weight but he was trying his best to save his friend. He went outside and stopped on the main road for a vehicle in which he can go to a nearby hospital. As it was late enough, there were no vehicles available. Suddenly a taxi was seen which was coming from far. He showed his one hand so that the driver saw him and stop his vehicle. Dae Ju was still senseless so Jheong Woo couldn't get him down from his shoulder. Within a couple of minutes, the taxi came to him and stopped. He went inside and told the driver to take them to the hospital. When he was sitting on the seat of the taxi, he noticed that Dae Ju's wrist was still bleeding. He thought he should do something to stop his bleeding. But there was nothing that could be helpful to stop his blood. So, he has torn his own shirt and tied it on his wrist. Though it couldn't stop bleeding, it helps to reduce the blood flowing. Dae Ju's head was on his lap. He was looking like a dead body.
*What if someday his spirit goes to his original body? Will he become like this? He is still breathing but that day won't he stop breathing? What will he do after that? He has to bury him, won't he? That guy told him that until he has the yarn on his arm, the evil can't come into the body. So, he needs to take care of it. Though it was hard to accept the truth, his friend Rumi died two years ago and until Dae Ju came, the evil soul was living inside his body. What if Dae Ju never come here? He could never know the truth or he has to see the true face of that jerk which Lina had already seen.* Jheong Woo thought and sighed. The taxi was running at its top speed as the road was blank and they were in an emergency. As he forgot to close the window, the cold wind grabbed them from every side and he felt cold. Within ten minutes, they reached the hospital. After paying the rent, Jheong Woo gets off of the taxi with Dae Ju's unconscious body and rushed to the hospital.
They admit Dae Ju to an emergency room and start a small surgery. After about an hour, the doctor came. Jheong Woo was waiting outside and praying so that the operation will be successful. He was sitting on the chair. When the doctor came, he stood up and went to the doctor.
"How is he now?" he asked and looked at the doctor with questionable eyes. He was hoping the answer was good.
"The operation was successful but...." saying this far the doctor stopped and looked at him.
