-Evelyn's POV
''Can you stop the car?'' I ask when I'm sure that we are far enough. ''I have to do something.''
''You can say that you have to pee, blue eyes.'' the alpha grins as he pulls over.
''I don't have to pee, but I know where we are!'' I say as I get out of the car and start to stumble towards the trees. ''There is a lookout point with a stunning view.''
Just in time I remember that humans can't see in the dark and I force myself to walk straight into a tree. I'm also supposed to be a little drunk, so I don't even bother with trying to keep my balance.
''Careful, blue eyes!'' the alpha laughs as he makes sure that I don't fall on the ground. ''There are a lot of trees around here and it would be ashamed to get even a scratch on that beautiful face of yours.''
The alpha tries to wrap his arms around me, but I don't give him that chance and stumble on. As expected the alpha only becomes more aroused by that. Every wolf loved the thrill of the hunt and that was exactly what I was counting on.
I needed his guard to stay down.
The lookout point was close by, but it seems like I have to change my plan. I heard a lot of young voices, music and a crackling fire.
Fricking teenagers having a party!
''Blue eyes, forget about the lookout point,'' the alpha says as he grabs my hand and twirls me around. ''It's just a tower and you can't see anything from there in the middle of the night.''
''But I want to see the river by moonlight!' I pout.
The alpha laughs as I try to drag him with me towards the lookout point and he shakes his head.
''The moon is hiding tonight and you can't see the river from here, blue eyes. It's further away, but I know a short cut. So do you really want to see the river?
The alpha caresses my face with his hand and I need Sybil to take control. I don't want him to touch me like this! It felt wrong and I was very close to losing my temper.
''I really do,'' I hear myself say. ''Lead the way, Sazerac.''
We follow a path that takes us deep into the woods and just when I think that I should act worried or scared, I hear the stream of the river.
This place is a hidden gem! We reached a clearing where you could walk straight into the river and that was not even the best part. It looked liked the water was glowing because the bottom of the river was covered with white pebbles.
''Stunning,'' I say softly and I almost forget that the alpha is standing behind me.
''Fifty bucks he is going to say that about you,'' Sybil smirks.
''The view is nice,'' the alpha whispers in my ear. ''You are stunning.''
UGH!
I take the flower out of my hair and twirl it around. Innocent, beautiful and still dangerous. This flower was so much more than it appeared to be.
''Do you always get flowers delivered in the middle of the night?'' I ask teasingly. ''Happy coincidence or your signature move.''
''I will show you my signature moves,'' Sybil sighs bored. ''Going once, going twice and...''
''Blue eyes, you will get to know my signature moves very soon and you should think of yourself as a lucky woman. I never give flowers, but this time I couldn't help myself,'' the alpha smiles as he traces my bottom lip with his thumb. ''The red petals match your lipstick perfectly.''
I inhale the scent of the flower before I put it back in my hair and I take a few steps towards the river. The current was strong, but that was a good thing. It would safe me some time in the end.
His end.
The alpha turns me around and he kisses me eagerly. He is completely focused on his own pleasure, because there was no way any woman would enjoy being kissed like this!
His tongue was rotating like a propeller of a boat in my mouth!
Suddenly the alpha stops and he tries to step away.
''Don't you like the taste of your own poison, alpha?'' I ask with a smile. ''It works on pups and frail wolves, but I wonder what it will do to you.''
''How is this possible?'' the alpha stammers. ''I made sure that you were a human! You don't have a wolf or a scent and you didn't had any kind of reaction on the wolfsbane that...''
''Explain something to me and I will answer your questions,'' I cut the alpha off. ''You and the White Claw pack had countless opportunities to take over those four packs. They were weak and vulnerable, but you and Traitor alpha did nothing.''
''Why can't I move?'' the alpha barks at me. ''What are you doing to me? I can't feel my wolf and I can barely feel my connection to my pack!''
''Because this conversation is between me and you,'' I smirk as I stroke his face.
''Back to my questions. Those packs would have surrendered to you, but you chose to do this instead?''
''You sound like Christian,'' the alpha scoffs. ''Take over packs by force and go on. It doesn't work like that! Merging packs takes a lot of work and time. I'm not wasting my time and resources on the weak and that's what I told Christian!''
It is finally making sense to me, but I'm also reaching my limit. Packs fighting each other for territory and power was normal, but this was something else.
This was pure evil.
''A mad alpha,'' I say softly. ''That's is what you are and how you will be remembered. The mad alpha of the Shadow pack that...''
''Blue eyes, give it a rest.'' the alpha interrupts me. ''Witchcraft is not going to safe you. My strength is returning and that means that our time together will end in me having my way with you until you beg me to end your life.''
I trace with my finger the mark that my lipstick left on his cheek and I smile. Everyone in that bar saw me leave with the alpha, including some members of his pack. One look on the mark on his face and the hunt on me would begin.
''They will be hunting a ghost for a very long time,'' Sybil says smugly.
''Indeed,'' I answer. ''The girl from the bar would be long gone by then.''
''Our time together is almost over, Sazerac. That's why I can tell you that my name is Evelyn.''
''Like I give a...'' the alpha begins.
''Evelyn of the Golden Forest pack.''
For the first time I see fear in the eyes of the alpha and that was exactly what I wanted him to feel.
Terrified and helpless.
''Farewell mad alpha of the Shadow pack,'' I whisper and I remove my hand from his chest.
The alpha fall backwards into the river and I watch how his body is being dragged away by the current. His body would wash up in White Claw territory and I almost wish that I could be there to watch their reactions.
''One more kill and then we will go back, Syb.''
''Fine,'' Sybil grumbles. ''But only if you promise to give me the honours!''
I take the flower out of my hair and look at it for the last time.
''The red flower of the far East has a very distinctive scent and that guy reeked of it. He either made it or was involved in the process. That's why we are going to pay him a visit. I need to know if there is an antidote and then you can do the honours.''
''I will be my pleasure,'' Sybil growls. ''Let's hunt!''
I throw the flower in the river and I stretch myself out.
''Let's hunt!''
