Janelle walked into the sitting room to find her mother seated there, she held a drink in her hand and was staring at her phone.

She paid no attention to her mother, and walked up the fridge. She wanted to quench her thirst, but she couldn't stop looking at her mother from where she stood.
She was in a daze, and Janelle was pretty sure that she didn't even hear her, nor notice that she had someone here with her.
