The drive seemed much longer than before; the eerie silence enough to burn into my heart. Watching her stare out into nothing; the only time she moved was to clench her fists over and over. It was like something was haunting her. There was a time I thought she was talking to herself.
For fucks sake, she had slid pretty far off the tracks this time. "Hey Lass, you alright." I reached to touch her, but she shirked away. "We are just a few miles away, stay with me—" I touched her leg, this time she didn't try to swat me away.
"Sorry, I'm okay." She finally mumbled. "I—" she choked, holding her hand to her chest. "is Gage alright? Have you spoken to him?"
My heart almost stopped; in all of the insanity—I almost forgot—"No, things have been hectic. Vincent says they are on lockdown at the tower."
