Lachrymose
Drew POV
The last of the prisoners had left with the workers; the each of them alive, but worse for the wear. I didn't dare go back to Vincent—he was still locked in the room with Gintry. There weren't any screams, which only made it eerier. Part of me yearned to be in that room with him, but my heart shuddered at the idea. Even with the grief and hatred I had, could I be a monster too?
I would wait around for him to be finished, I guess; there was nothing better to do than to explore. The grounds were magnificent, albeit mostly full of terror. The sun dared to peak over the horizon; another day I would be forced to live without her. I ran into a courtyard, seemingly untouched by the massacre that had just occurred. The sweet smell of flowers wafted through the air; a bit of moisture building on each surface, waiting for the sun to burn it away.
