Mania diverted
A few steps out of the front door, he caught up with me. "Where are you going?" he asked, urgency in his voice. "Kavi, please, just stop and talk to me."
No. Something inside called, but not me. A few more paces between us, I turned. "I need to go."
He reached out with a single hand, taking a few steps closer. "Please don't go. I'm sorry—"
"Do not try to convince me I'm insane—I—I saw a side of you that scared me. I can't have that happening." She choked, "I just got away—I can't—"
"For the fuck's sake, you're acting insane, woman." The shock on both his face and in his words.
My hands started shaking, the impulse to lash out bubbling beneath my skin. "You will never call me that again!" I turned, standing firm.
