I wore the weight of her pregnancy on my shoulders every day. I knew I only had so long before the child's magick would take hold and she wouldn't be able to terminate. No matter how badly I wanted it, there was no happy ending to our story. Right now, she was living with a man and thinking she was having a normal child… reality of the story. The thing inside of her was a parasite.
The physician that had overseen Veronica's 'pregnancy' was also able to, with a certain amount of money, provide me with the prescription abortion pill. She would be just a bit further that recommended for effectiveness, but we would have to try. I would find a way to get her to take it.
