Falling stars
Kavielle POV
As we crossed into the building through the large open door, the atmosphere was heavy. Fog and lights everywhere, the thumping grew louder. We reached a group of people in front of another door. "Name?"
"Alyssa Waterbug."
The man scanned the tablet in his hand. "Plus one? Gabrielle?"
"Yes," she responded, handing him a crisp $100 bill. "This is the cover."
He nodded, opening the door for us. "Be safe." The noise level quadrupled instantly; waves of fog poured out of the door.
I leaned into Allie, whispering, "Waterbug?"
"Nickname, but that's what they know me as."
How does one get that kind of nickname? Shrugging it off, I followed close behind. They crowded it enough you had to push your way through the people. It took us a few minutes to make it to the bar at the far end of the building. She knew everyone, people screeching when they saw her, "WATERBUG!"
