Madison reached out to her people and got me in touch with a man only known as the register. He seemed a like well educated man, but very detail oriented. Unfortunately, the auction was something that only came around once a year, so any events I would get soon would be high end discretionary events. I had to help fill the ambience of the room and be available to any of the people deemed worthy to know the salacious details of my work. I would be left to broker my own deals, and manage myself.
So, if no one suited me, I would be free to walk away with free booze and appetizers. Also, connections. It would have to be good enough. I had no desire to actually go through with any of it, I only wanted to make sure a certain someone was aware of what I was doing. His people all moved in that circle, someone was bound to make sure he knew.
