Shifting dynamics
Madison was still shaken, she stumbled as we walked down the front steps, "What just happened in there?"
"Geez Madison, you really need to learn when to slow down on the drinking. I know you were nervous and all…" I played it off, feeling confident in myself.
She rubbed her mouth and jaw, "What I do remember wasn't exactly great. Damn Kavi, you really had him on a leash."
Smirking, I opened the car door, "Just get in. I'm ready for this night to be over."
We climbed in the car; I opened the bar and located some mini bottles of whiskey to entertain myself with. Drinking, I mulled over the evening. Somehow, I felt a relief wash over me. Like the last 10 years meant nothing, and what happened meant nothing.
