The Main Event
Stepping into the foyer, my heart sank immediately. It felt like all eyes were right on me, I had to resist the urge to cover myself. I already had a meltdown about my cleavage this morning, I couldn't even imagine trying to breathe right now. Madison insists that I look amazing, let's hope its enough to satisfy whoever… I felt the bile raise in my throat just thinking about it.
I have spent to long not living, being here was the resolution to this. I could move away and start a new life, maybe make up for the time I've missed. The concierge walked us to the bar, and politely stepped away. The man at the bar was not old, maybe in his 40s, he had a weak jawline, his hair missing on the top of his head, but her was wearing a Rolex and probably a 50k suit. Madison smiled, "Mr. Kennedy, pleasure to see you."
The middle aged man responds with a meek, feminine voice, "Oh hey sugar cake," he hesitated, adjusting himself, "Glad to see you made it. I came just for you."
"Oh baby, you didn't have to come just for me!" She said in a sweet, high-pitched tone.
He smiled, "Oh Maddy, dear. I look forward to having you all to myself…" He reached out and grabbed her hips, "Is this your friend you were talking about." He looked at me, with sparkle in his eye.
"Yes, this is Kavi," she reached out for my hand, "remember, she is just with for one night."
"Oh, I look forward to whatever she gives us," he took my hand, kissing it.
Madison pulled him away, "If you're top bidder. You better be prepared."
"Oh yes! I made sure to talk to my accountant and I've brought enough to make sure you come with me." He smirked, giggling to himself.
Madison smiled, grabbing my hand as she walked off, "Hopefully he doesn't live up to that, he's kind of a small fish, so not too much to worry about," She whispered in my ear.
"Is he the worst?" I asked quietly.
"The worst looking? Yeah, but not the worst option. He's kind and normal. His kinks are boring, so it's not too bad."
We walked up to another man, this one was better looking but much older, probably in his late 50s, "Mad! You look amazing tonight!" the man exclaims, pulling her into him.
"Hey Killian! Oh, I am so happy you made it!" she pecks his lips, smiling.
"Who is this gorgeous goddess?" He says, looking me up and down.
"This is my friend Kavi, she is my special bonus for the night. Kavi, come say hello," she waves me in.
Killian grabs my hand, pulling me a bit, but I resisted, "Well aren't you feisty? I like it." He smiles, looking back over to Madison, "Hm, I might have a little fun breaking her in tonight…" He snuggled into her neck, smiling.
"If you came prepared to win…" she smirked, pulling away from him slowly, "I hope you're ready." She backed away from him, grabbing my hand and leading me away again. We got out of earshot, she continues, "People like him, they're big into domination, but not anything scary. You can have a lot of fun with those types. They like to see how many times they can make you come." She laughed, pulling me along, "But apparently you are already an expert at that."
The next group was a few younger guys, some of them really good looking, they had a more casual vibe to them, "Hey gentleman!" Madison squeaked as she broke into the circle, me in tow, "How are my favorite parasites?"
"Fuck you Mad," one of them replied, everyone laughing.
"So," she said, cuddling up to one who appeared to be the ringleader, "Did you come to play, baby?"
He shook his head, "I got you." He said, touching her cheek, "I hope you are too."
She pecked him now and lead us both away. She looked at me with this hesitation, "Those guys are who we have to avoid. They're young and desensitized to hardcore porn, so they want to keep doing crazier and crazier stuff. With these auctions, they pay to do what they want to you…" She smirked again, "good thing they're poor. Our shy little friend can outbid them easily."
"Maddy, aren't you worried maybe they will win?" I asked, my heart ripping through me.
"Not at all, I'd take the penalty before I would sign an agreement with them." She shrugged, moving through another large room. Penalty?
We had finally arrived at the main ballroom, there were food tables lining two of the walls, and booths lining the others, tables and couches lined the floor. My eyes darted from person to person, watching the monstrosity of women being sold like cattle. They were volunteering, but it still sat wrong with me. I wanted to believe it was on the up and up, but something felt wrong about it still, maybe it was just my nerves. The other women seemed happy, excited even.
Did I think I was better than them in some way? I'm not sure. I never thought I am better than Madison, but I felt like I was betraying myself by being here. This was a legitimate life for these women, but it just didn't feel right for me, but I was stuck now. We walked around, and I couldn't help but notice a group of masked men standing on the mezzanine, only speaking to each other, watching everyone below.
Madison was talking to just about everyone, seeming to fit different groups against each other, always trying to up the bid and thus the money she would make. I managed to pull her to the side, and quietly inquired, "Who are the people watching us from up there?"
"Oh," she waved me off, "those of the big bidders, most of them just show up for face, its rare any of them take someone for more than a night. They do pay well, but its always the top of the top with them. I have probably gone around with most of them when I was younger. I don't think we have a chance with them… If only…" She muses.
She turned now, ready to head to another group, "Wait, what was this you said about penalty?" She just smiled, shrugging as she walked away. I spent the next couple of hours wandering, picking at a bit of food as Madison would introduce me to new men, each of them eyeing me disgustingly as I awkwardly smiling, trying to impress. Her refusal to answer my simple question did unnerve me. I knew that in a way, I was stuck.
Madison grabbed my arm, pulling me closer to her as a man's voice rang out, calling to order the beginning of the event. One boisterous voice rang over the others, "Good evening honored guests, thank you for joining us tonight. And a special thanks for our senior patron Lord Valentine," he said, allowing applause. All of the people in the crowd looked upwards as a tall man, veiled in black wearing a mask, just above the stage, alone.
His glare seemed to melt into me as the light hit his face. His long hair dark hair fell forward as he leaned, his face almost fully covered, just a corner of his jaw and chin showed, his eyes hidden behind the mask. He had light beard, so dark in comparison to his pale skin, "Thank you." He said, in the deadly silent room, "Blessings to all." His voice sent shivers down my spine, something about him.
He moved back into the shadow, and the crowd erupts in applause. I looked around me, genuinely panicked, I tried to hold it together. Madison saw the terror on my face as she pulled me into a hug, "Not sure what triggered you just now, but Lord Valentine is still watching, please hold it together. Smile." She said, with a tinge of anger.
Breathing deep, I took a napkin, dabbing my eyes. I pushed through it, emerging with a smile, "I got it." I said gently, snapping back into myself. She stepped away, smiling big as she moved back to one fo the men she had spent the night flirting with. I looked up, the shadow of this 'Mr. Valentine' stood perfectly still, staring down at me. I mean, he couldn't have been watching me, right? Immediately my eyes dropped, I stared at the stage, pretending to watch the auction.
Madison grabbed my arm, dragging me a little bit towards the side of the stage, I looked back, and he had disappeared from his stoop. My heart was in my throat as Madison pulled her face to mine, "Alright, we're up soon. Just go with what they say, we're all set to get in the club orgasm, Killian is so psyched to have us!"
I felt a little bit of relief, trying to pull myself together, "Are you sure it'll be him? Anyone else to worry about?" I asked, the eyes still bearing down on me.
"No, Killian is pretty much one of the senior patrons level cash without all the shadowy shame." She moaned now, "Oh thank you Kavi! This is going to help me be set for life!" Her smile was to her ears, I could see what this meant to her. I felt like it would all be worth is if it would just make her happy.
Then, it was our turn.
