"Then, why did you lie to me?" Suzanne inquired, confusion etching her face.
"Well, you believed it was a love letter, so I decided to playfully tease you," Damien replied, his grip on her hands loosening, allowing her to relax. "You're fully aware of who I am, yet you entertained the idea that I received a love letter from someone," his tone carried a playful edge.
Damien brushed the pad of his finger on her nose bridge. "It's not easy to make a place in my heart. You know this well," he asserted and moved away.
Suzanne propped herself up on her elbows, sitting upright. "You were smiling when you read that letter. Anyone would have taken it as a love letter," she mumbled, her lips twitching. She moved to the edge of the bed to remove her slippers. After doing so, she brought her feet up and mentioned that she was going to sleep.
Damien held her wrist and asked her if she was tired.
