Seeing Suzanne crying, Damien's grip loosened over her wrists. His thumb rested on her cheek and he wiped her tears. "Don't cry," he whispered.
Suzanne sniffled and looked away, but Damien tenderly wiped the tears from both her cheeks before retracting his hand.
"You will be at a disadvantage if you public our private matters. I apologize for leaving you in confusion," he stared and made her look at him by pulling her chin.
"I hate it when I get advice from the others about how to treat you, how to forward in this marriage. It's not easy for me to see you with love. I lived with the motto to kill Oliver because he made my parents suffer. You don't know what happened with us, no one knows about this. It's not easy for me to forget and move on," Damien explained to her why he behaved harshly with her. He moved away from her while Suzanne sat upright after a few seconds.
