"So, what did you find? I hope you found something usual," Édouard said with quite high hopes.
"I did," Rainard stated and he handed the envelope to Édouard. He was loyal to Édouard, so he didn't want to betray him by hiding the truth.
"What is this?" Édouard asked as he checked the envelope.
"I found this in Maurice's study room, Your Grace," Rainard replied, "Ariane has sent a message to the King through her brother's hands."
Édouard was shocked to learn that. To his knowledge, no one was allowed to meet Ariane and Beatrice, except the King and Prince Andrew. "Igor lied to me about not knowing Maurice," Édouard muttered and took out the paper from inside the envelope.
He started to read the message and stopped where he read the words, 'Édouard isn't the son of the King, but Philip.'
"What's this?" He gazed at Rainard in shock.
"The King refused to believe this," Rainard said. He narrated everything to Édouard that he had heard at Maurice's place.
